Facepunch are probably one of the smartest company's I have ever seen. They have come from just some people who made some sandbox game with some half life 2 assets and a game with horrible graphics and janky gameplay. To making a beautiful survival game and a sandbox game which was used to make so many creations and a upcoming sandbox game with more programmers and work. Thanks Facepunch!
you know what facepunch congratulations to your team this game has come so far and I'm really proud of the development of the game as a person who has played for 4 years I can say this game is top tier and truly a masterpiece congrats.
Never ever played rust heard so much about it and recently got excited about it coming to ps5 to finally play for the first time but one thing put me of was the graphics. This video literally gave me the shivers watching I really hope this is the graphics I will see on my first day playing
I haven't really been happy with a lot of the updates since beginning of comp/bp system. Ive been playing since early 2014 and always think of the good ol days of this game and wish it could be like that again. But to still be developing a game 8 years later and having such massive changes happen to the game really shows the capability and versatility of a good dev team. We love you facepunch
Great work rust devs. We all came a long way and rust is the most beautiful it has ever been. It really feels like a survival game now with all the beautiful terrain. All we need now is ambience of the nature and birds👀 haha but overall it looks so so good!
That's one of the first things I thought! I watched RUST: House of Cards again yesterday and didn't know there was a world revamp. Can't wait to see the new world host some crazy movies. 🤔 It's really strange to think we're looking forward to watching a feature length scripted 'movie' acted out in a game - kinda surreal lol

Damn, I rate it. Next can you bring the rivers up to the standard, add waterfalls, make them start at the tops of mountains and get bigger as they get closer to the sea and just stop the water clipping out side of the banking
A total of 2400 hours of playtime after this update and the world of rust still surprises and amazes me every wipe. BUT... I feel like this update is overshadowed by the fact that Rust still has massive performance issues. Its a beautiful game if you put it on high settings but realistically speaking even on an absolute highend pc you have to sacrifice a lot of that beauty to avoid those seemingly inevitable 1% low fps stutters. I recently made a massive upgrade to my pc, playing on a 4090 and a 7950x yet I still have to set my game to medium/low settings to have a chance of not stuttering in gunfights... please... PLEASE... help us enjoy this update in its full glory and work on drastic performance improvements. I'm fine if it takes a few wipes and I'm sure 99% of the playerbase would be more than willing to not get any new mechanics or revamped monuments etc if it means that at the end of it we get a proper performance update that fixes this issue!
you guys manage to make this game better with each update, as an old legacy player who was reluctant to try the "remake" of the game, i can safely say now that i really appreciate how you guys improved the game and what you have done for it, it's insane
though the generation is much more realisitic, i miss the old over arching rocks in the desert that served as great build spots for solos. i never got to play rust before this update but i still find myself wishing i had the opportunity to build a cool base burrowed into the rocks in the desert.
I think this will definitely give rust its own aura. It already is one of my favorite games. Its on edge and stressful and times but in a good way. I think that if they added more music with different feels to it and fixed some more stuff here and there that the mood and feeling of this game could be matched with Minecraft.
I love face punch as a developer, depending on the amount of revenue they get they still take their time to make the player base happy and upgrade their game, with the addition of console i think that more people will be able to enjoy the masterpiece that it's rust and it's strangely toxic and love community Thank you face punch!
Crap in a pretty wrapper, there's no other way I can call this update. FPS drops terribly, game maps after the graphics update have become less woody and interesting. And at the moment the game is too expensive. I miss the old graphics!
I have being testing it for a while and there is no graphic performance issues at all, if your system performs well with current graphics then it will be the same with the new... I like the fact now you can sneak in the bushes or woods and nobody can roof camp you from the distance even if they set it to potato...
Rust is incredible. With the amount of talent on the dev team, I wonder if they're holding back though. I guess they can't rush content out because it needs to be tested and tweaked....in any case, I'm glad Rust is thriving. Hard to believe this is the same game I played back in the day with zombies, and the only type of meat was 'chicken' - - even when you've killed a bear 😅
facepunch! can you possibly add a "performance mode" option for people with lower end PC's? some people (like me) have all graphics on low and still get around 25-30 fps which isn't really playable. anyways just thought I might put it out there, thanks!
Pretty sweet. It would be great if we could save our own graphics presets in order to test new settings and revert back to the usual settings if things go wrong.
With 3700 hours in of real play time this is the most visually stunning upgrade in awhile. Nothing short of impressive. Now if we can just get more base defenses and building options.

seems like this update unfortunately killed rock bases because the new cliffs seem so vertical. Curious if the devs considered rock bases to be too OP
Actually, before this update my game was running at 50 fps with drops to 20 fps. Now it runs 65 FPS with drops to 35 fps.
