I'll never stop being amazed at the capacity to process your 5-10 minute explanation of a single play's decision making rationale into 2 seconds before making the throw. wow.

Your production costs of these videos are likely around 15 or 20 bucks (tongue-in-cheek). But the value in this information, level of knowledge, delivery, etc. is invaluable. I get the impression these is not-for-profit and done for purely education purposes. Thank you! and I get so much out of these videos and always look forward anything else you put out.

@9m - Yes - simple reads - instead of 3 or 4 progressions - package it - 2 reads - or 2 sides of the field if that's your concept. The issue here is an inverted Tampa 5 -- deep safety unexpectedly comes up in the hole -- THIS is where the Air Raid concept of Space comes to play - and it's not so complicated w/ a 2 read design.
The QB has to be taught plays that are about Space more than Time -- vs the Timing designs - 2 different ideals... but I believe it to be possible. Because it can be kept simple and executable. Look left - No Space. Look right - no space short or deep - but intermediate outside the seam. The WR needs to see it and sit in the space.
The only problem with Pro Style Offenses is all the plays... the traditional Air Raid is all about KISS - same design run over and over so QB & WR on same page reading Space. Guys like McDaniel and Slowik are experimenting with all of this - I believe.
But... as in the case of this one play ... sometimes the DC is too good. This was a tricky pre snap look to post snap coverage. Inverted Tampa's are tough. This Sunday you will see one of the trickiest DCs in the game in the Chiefs Spagnuolo.

How does pure progression compare to air raid principles of reading grass/space?

Same thing really. Take stick for instance. The fly route is an alert vs cover 2 if the quarterback has the arm talent for the hole shot. Otherwise hopefully double slants are on the backside to conflict the hook defender. In C3 and 4, you read the flat defender. If he flys out to the shoot route, the receiver running the stick should settle up right outside his hip and replace him. If the flat defender stays inside, the shoot route is open. Either way the flat defender can’t be right.

@@kurtwarnerqbc so peeking coverages to then isolate key defenders within the passing concept?

"defender in conflict..." seems to be what Leach's Air Raid was all about... which defender can you exploit and can your QB find him... Leach had characterized the Air Raid as the passing version of the triple option
