OMG ! Saw them Dec. 28, 1988 in Düsseldorf / Germany . . . NEVER forget ! Still a GREAT FAN . . . ! I can remember the Hall was tremble cause of the massive deep bass POWER !
I actually met Messia'h in Stockholm on a Ozzy Osbourne show at Solnahallen in ´89, he had his seat next to me, had a conversation with him before the show. A very pleasant guy. I felt very small, sitting next to him.
Great gig with Candelmass, the best hardrock band from Sweden, this versions of Dark reflections and The Bells of Acheron is awesome. Have never, ever heard better versions, Leif Edling on bass guitar, what a bass sound he has here. That bass is amazing!
Short set, but they played some killer rarities here. The Bells of Acheron, Through the Infinitive Halls of Death and the mighty A Tale of Creation. Great stuff.

Saw them in Glasgow. Well impressed. They were much better live than on the vinyl. Became my favourite band after I had been let down by celtic frosts cold lake. The Frosties should have stayed morbid.

You can NEVER go wrong, playing A Tale Of Creation live! Lol, oh yeah, i was 1.5 years old when this occured.. Messiah Marcolin definitely has the vocal sound that ENCAPSULATES who Candlemass is. Nothing against Johan, just being honest. Those kind of pipes are made to be a Metal Vocalist!

Sadly, Messiah is an asshole. That's why the reunited and parted ways with him like five 5 times. Besides, if you watch the 2003 videos he was starting to lose his voice. Even if we miss him, the band is better off without him.

Peaceville records did a great job with the reissues of the Messiah Marcolin era catalog. The only Candlemass that matters.
