Thanks Don, I give Travis credit for this request, I believe I just seconded it. Also agree with everything Dennis King stated. Without a doubt Junior is the best guitarist I've ever seen live ( and I've seen most of the for greats) Thanks for the reactio/rating Don and a good day to all.----#UTRCM
been a fan of his since i firse heard him, he has that cool "guit-steeel" dual neck electric guitar and steel guitar combination. another fun one of his is 'My wife thinks you're dead"
@jasonhalversonjaydog Hey Jason, just a heads up that I got your gift request--thank you! I'm in Chicago until Sunday night for my friend's son's wedding, so will be getting to the requests starting Monday. I hope the delay doesn't cause you any difficulty, as this is the first trip I've taken in a couple of years. Yikes! Thank you again, Don
@jasonhalversonjaydog Hey Jason, this was the best way I had to get a message to you. I got your requests as I was leaving the house for the weekend, so wanted to give you a quick heads up that I'll get the reactions up Monday and Tuesday. Thanks for hanging in there! ~Don
@jasonhalversonjaydog Hey Jason, I got a jump on the videos sooner than I anticipated, and when I went to do your second request today I realized I'd already done it a couple of years ago. And guess who made a gift request for me to do it? You!! Gotta love it!! So when you have a moment please give me another song choice and I'll get to it. Thank yoU!
@@RockN2Country oh I'd forgot LOL. then I'll do "it wasn't God whp made honky tonk angels" by Amber Digby and Loretta Lynn. ruclips.net/video/qIKOMY9yV-s/видео.htmlsi=LmnHu3BJvNeQ-0OS. Thanks
saw him once on the third outlaw country cruise. We had bad weather and he amazed me playing his git-steel while the ship was rolling and pitching his git-steel all over the stage
Great request from Travis and Mike! I had the great fortune of seeing Junior Brown and his band opening for the Mavericks at the Wolf Trap in Northern Virginia back in the late 1990s. Junior is a one-of-a-kind musician with his honemade "guit steel" guitar, deep baritone, and great songwriting skills. This song "Highway Patrol" was originally co-written and recorded by Red Simpson back in 1966 and was a minor hit for Junior in 1993. Junior's early albums ("Twelve Shades of Brown" and "Guit With It") are absolute essentials for lovers of traditional country music. Other great tracks for a reaction: "Broke Down South of Dallas," "Still Life with Rose," "Hillbilly Hula Gal," and "My Baby Don't Dance to Nothin' but Ernest Tubb."
I also saw them on that tour, here in Oregon. It was August, which is the one month you can usually count on nice, sunny weather- but instead we were outside, it was gray, drizzling and in the low 60s! But the music was so good that it didn't matter!
The video is great!!! But my favorite video of his is "Venom wearin' Denim"...I think I read somewhere that he designed or invented (not sure the best terminology) his guitar.
One of my favourites. You should watch a live version. Or go back and watch the video for this song. He plays a guitar / steel guitar hybrid that he built himself. It's pretty fun to watch. You should also give his song My Wife Thinks Your Dead a listen.
One of your comments made me think of a song, when you hear it, you at first think anyone could come up with that song, but somehow only one did like so many of his songs, of course it was Tom T. Hall. "Greed kills more people than Whiskey"
All cops should know about the First Amendment rights that citizens have. Too many cops get offended when you stand on a public sidewalk and record them. Some get very aggressive and try to push you back and in some cases arrest for "interfering." Recording police is not interfering. Interfering is a physical act. Cops need to protect constitutionally protected activities. They swore an oath to do so.
He is a very skilled instrumentalist. You should catch a live video of him performing and doing the solos. It’s very entertaining to watch.

I got to see Junior Brown and The Mavericks at Champoeg Park in 1996. He is very entertaining!

Just a fun little song with kinda a surfer 50s groove to it. " (Surferbilly?)"
Don, check out Junior's "My Wife Thinks You're Dead" or "Surf Medley". Very different songs nut both are really gpod.
Great selection and great reaction Don. If you like simple songs, you need to do Dave Dudley's 1963 hit "Cowboy Boots"

@Dennisking I saw him.on that same tour at a small venue in Atlanta, one of the best shows I have ever saw.---#UTRCM

Let’s hear it for WV!
stopped by HP in Wash he had the biggest hogleg strapped to his hip I ever saw 2 tickets and a fast trip north for the border ... HAKAD
In many places they have increased the speed limit. Growing up In Tennessee & Georgia freeway speeds were 55. Now they range between 65-80.

You'd like driving in Texas. 70mph on 2 lane roads, 80mph on certain stretches of Interstates.
Gov Justice has talked about raising WV’s speed limit.

Red Simpson originally did this song in the 60’s.
I'm probably the only one in my hometown that can sing this song without Lyrics 👌🤠
Jr is the Best
Junior is the man. But you really need to see him playing to appreciate what is going on
this was a good song about HP as when it was done I believe we just got hit with the national 55MPH federal limit and nobody liked it then
You need to listen to Gotta sell them chickens by hank thompson and junior brown
Junior is good
You need to see the actual video. He has a custom guitar he made himself
