I remember this promo when Arn Anderson did it. Benoit was indeed involved in a feud with Kevin Sullivan and it was over Woman. That had to have been one of the most sincere promos that Arn ever did that I remember. He always was one of the best mic workers in the business, and he sure could back it up in the ring.
HOnestly, he's not underrated by any real fan. I always placed him at #2 of greatest wrestlers to never win a world title (1 is of course Piper and 3 is Owen Hart).
i'm 23 and I know about him. @@danielwilson9724 he’s referring to the younger Millennials and Gen Z who didn’t get to experience that era of pro wrestling like those of us in our late 30s and early 40s did.
Arn Anderson. The Man. The Myth. The Legend. All rolled into one. The word I find is "epic".....look it up. He had the crystal ball that many don't in life, he had already discerned from what had happened as to what "was" going to happen and stated it as only Arn Anderson could say it IMO.
Yeah despite how eerie this now comes across because of the context, its also a great example of what wrestling could do so well before it got too exposed. And props as always to Double A for a great promo, he was one of the best at that kind of thing.
Arn Anderson is not only equipped with wrestling knowledge, he's also equipped with overall human and life knowledge. The guy you want to talk to when you need advice or have a problem.
Arn was never surprised when he was right. He didn't have to shout or celebrate or carry on about being right. When Arn said something, it was true. If it wasn't true when Arn said it, the universe would change to match what Arn said. It's still that way with him. Thank you for taking your valuable time to read this.

This is fuckin eerie... And without doubt a real life warning to Benoit not to fuck around... yet he still did... with potentially tragic consequences given what happened to him.. which some still maintain he was framed for.. this certainly made me see the situation in a different light.. We all know Sullivan was a fan of the occult, god knows what he set in motion.. Without sounding too crazy, I'm starting to think there may be more to this than we thought
I remember when this aired, I felt really weird after it was over. Still makes me feel eerie and even worse looking back to 12 years ago. Arn hit the nail on the head.
Ryan rogerson Good one...To be honest with you I was just trying to spice up the "X number of people dislike this video" thing. Chris Benoit alone can be the 26.
Arn Anderson had that voice and presence where he didn’t have to yell and scream to get your attention. When he starts talking you stop what your doing and you listen.
Foreshadowing if I’ve ever seen it. I also doubt that this was the first time a wrestler went swimming in another mans pool. Double A clearly has an old school train of thought and that’s why he is so damn respected in the business. The writing was on the wall a while before the tragedy took place. So sad though, I was personally a huge fan of Chris. He was a generational talent in the ring but some demons just won’t go away
Chris might've been the best in-ring performer we were ever lucky enough to witness in real time.. At least top 5 all time and thats not exaggerated hyperbole or anything.
@@fastfootedone definitely right on about this one, Kevin Sullivan stood out amongsts the other wrestlers as being known to be calculated, and definitely knew how to not let business get crossed up with work, Kevin definitely was embarrassed when this all went down an if he did orchestrate these events allegedly he not only got his revenge, he made sure Benoit ⭐ stopped shining!! I personally don't believe Benoit did this, and the mysterious text to WWE and the last text about the dogs being on the side of the house an door left open and the time Benoit allegedly died still doesn't add up, and since there was no struggle Chris could have easily been set up, drugged an the 'Gamesmaster' did what he did, I do believe in Karma, an I do believe Benoit was wrong for messin' in someone else's pool, and there is enough motive an passion for a man to come back 10 years later an handle his business, that man was embarrassed on not only a national level, a world level!!! The whole world knew what Chris had done by taking Nancy!! The motive was there and if he did it or knew who did he's taking it to the grave with him!! I was shocked when this all went down, so sad for both families and all parties involved
WAKE UP... THIS IS NOT A WRESTLING PROMO! He is not 'promoting' a match or an angle. Arn is trying to save a young mans life and his soul. This is much bigger than 'rasslin. This promo just gives me the chills. Just the fact that this ended the episode of Saturday Night for some reason just bugs me out. I get goosebumps whenever the "Copyright" graphic appears. Weird I know, but it's true.
I feel the same. Its very eerie. Shows usually end with a winner celebrating his victory, a beatdown, or brawl which leaves the viewer feeling hyped (or disappointed if its crap). This ended in a quiet room with Arn speaking calmly about life lessons and an eerie foreshadowing of whats gonna happen. Leaves you wondering "wtf, whats he talking about? Whats the meaning behind this?" And Arn being such a kickass promo makes it all the more unsettling.
This is unreal Arn knew, and could see what was going to happen to him. An always mentioning family. Its just to detailed and honesty for it to be not a predictive message.
Naa this is just a good Double A promo actually.. This is just whn it was all the storyline Kevin Sullivan wrote, it just sounds " predictive" cause Sullivan's angle and what happened in real life became life imitating art.
Shout out to Westside Gunn for having this on his album. Double A is my guy!!!! When I see him and Ric it takes me back to my childhood with my pops. Man I miss him.
@@alexcasillas6973 it never fails. But we shouldn’t be surprised. God has his enemies. And they are highly motivated by their Father the devil 🤷♂️ It is what it is.
Awesome this is just absolutely so over!! AA's calm tone exacerbates the disturbing darkness of what would later come . Anderson's look, his demeanor, and the subject matter were the variables needed to create an ominous foreshadowing for what we now know as the Benoit tragedy. Arn was the perfect person for this type of promo. He worked the stick on this one!!
This is why I prefer these types of promos versus the kind you'd typically find in sports entertainment. Arn didn't have to scream, be overly animated, or spout a bunch of catchphrases to get his point across. The way he speaks, you believe every word he says because he delivers it with emotion. There's a weight to his words because it feels real and authentic because he's speaking from the heart instead of having to remember the words to a script he was given by a writer that's never been in a fight in his life.
I remember this from when it first came on back at the end of 1996. Seeing this for the first time since then and for the first time since the tragedy in 2007 has sent shivers up and down my back. I do believe that Arn foresaw what was to happen, and wherever you are in the afterlife Chris Benoit you should have fucking listened. Still at a loss for words to this day.
But you're just speculating no one knows would really happened between Benoit and Nancy and this whole family thing it's all speculation because nobody really knew what happened the facts are so minimal that it's very hard to know what really happened you would have to be in the house on that day during the whole thing go back in time to know what really happened other than that it's all speculation and conjecture
Even if chris took his own life its still a direct correlation to the event of him messing with the wife of a "satanist". If Arn Anderson were a shady mechanic , he'd get me to pay for a rebuilt transmission if I only needed an oil change. That's the power of persuasion,& no one was as direct, simple,& respected as much as AA. Truly as master of his craft.
Arn on his podcast said never bring family Into the business because they stay out of it. Arn had a good point.
Isn't Arn's son wrestling in AEW now?
One thing about this is beyond doubt
Arn Anderson is fucking awesome.
Damn right he is. He could sell me an igloo if I lived in Alaska! I'd by 2!
HOnestly, he's not underrated by any real fan. I always placed him at #2 of greatest wrestlers to never win a world title (1 is of course Piper and 3 is Owen Hart).
There is even an incidental police/ ambulance siren in the background. Very erie
Based on this promo and Chavo's interview with Jericho, it seemed like Arn knew what was going to happen to Chris 11 years in advance.
It was straight up like "hey Chris, Kevin is going to fucking kill you"
@@chadgratton8453 more like "you're gonna kill yourself if you don't be careful"
@@SpiralPoliFemboy Nancy left Kevin for Chris, it was her choice
@@Jblizzybaby wasn't her choice to get killed
@@SpiralPoliFemboy True, but I still do not believe the public media story 100%, too much mystery to not consider other possible outcomes...
Good lord this is bizarre, not to mention the sirens in the background at the 45 second mark. Crazy.
Holy shit I didn’t notice that. This is creepy.
i'm 23 and I know about him. He's always been one of my favorites, his spinebuster technique is often imitated, but never duplicated, and his promo skills are something I admire about him as a talent. The reason no one knows about him is because he got out of the ring early, not really because he's overlooked...
I realize you're30 years old now, so hopefully more educated on the matter but I still can't help but think Who are these people that overlook and/or don't know anything about Arn Anderson?? 🤔
Says there's "an unwritten rule"
*LISTS TWO*
Says he's only gonna ask one time
*"WELL IS IT?"*
Not everyone can count.
“Most underrated worker of all time”
- Kevin Nash
Yeah despite how eerie this now comes across because of the context, its also a great example of what wrestling could do so well before it got too exposed. And props as always to Double A for a great promo, he was one of the best at that kind of thing.
Still is. You say it like he passed.
@@georgediaz5522 True. Guess I think of him as being retired. Not seen that much of AEW so can't comment on him there.
Some seriously dark stuff attached professional wrestling.
Kevin Sullivan was and is a known Satanist...even during his time in WCW....including his time on the creative team in WWE...and thats just him.
just to remind everyone the death was 10 years to the DAY of nancy leaving kevin for chris.....
thats just a coincidence
@@micheleblomont9147 who knows
Damn. Doubt he did that intentionally but... damn.
Hope you’re not implying that bullshit ass conspiracy that Kevin Sullivan did it. This has been debunked on several occasions.
Is it really a coincidence?I truly don't think so!
This feels like he knew somehow that that moment was about to happen
I would love to know what he thought about that promo after the tragedy of 2007....
Arn Anderson is not only equipped with wrestling knowledge, he's also equipped with overall human and life knowledge. The guy you want to talk to when you need advice or have a problem.
One of the characters in my short story was named for him
Damn that's dark! Definitely got the chills from that one.
Arn was never surprised when he was right. He didn't have to shout or celebrate or carry on about being right. When Arn said something, it was true. If it wasn't true when Arn said it, the universe would change to match what Arn said. It's still that way with him. Thank you for taking your valuable time to read this.
Arn was highly underrated . Should've been a World HEAVYWEIGHT champion☆
Sometimes a belt doesnt defines a wrestler status, in that game is about who is the most entertaining one
By stating that you undermine Tully abit. Too good of a tag team. And plus if he was world champ we would have never gotten the horsemen. And that's hard to ignore.
@@jvadoptante never that my friend. Hell Tully Blanchard would've looked awesome with that big gold belt. Love them all. That's when pro wrestling was at its best
Ric Flair didnt allow this guy to be a world champion..very selfish individual Flair is
I would like to ask Arn and Tully did they ever have any regrets being in the Horsemen considering that that meant you would never become a heavyweight world champion. Tully, in particular, lost out because he was a horsemen.
That was haunting.
Another great promo from AA...but eerie and prophetic all the same.
Was this the feud that lead Chris Benoit and Kevin Sullivan to the 2007 tragedy? Everything that Arn Anderson said this in 1996 was so true
Arn showed what Chris really lost in 2 minutes of what he thought was just another promo. One of the wisest people in the business.
I remember when this aired, I felt really weird after it was over. Still makes me feel eerie and even worse looking back to 12 years ago. Arn hit the nail on the head.
man that shit made my heart hurt...the enforcer...whew....goddamn promotherfuckinfound
This is just Arn Anderson delivering another awesome promo, although it is rather odd duuring the NWO era they would end the show with this promo
Greg H that's what makes it so creepy, its like they ended it like that cause they really wanted it to be heard & now we see why
This was on one of the weekend shows, which weren't as dominated by the NWO storyline as Nitro and Thunder.

Arn Anderson had that voice and presence where he didn’t have to yell and scream to get your attention. When he starts talking you stop what your doing and you listen.
I could listen to him talk all day. A very wise man
That's how you cut a Promo! Wow soo powerful i love hearing Arn Anderson promo's

At least top 5 all time and thats not exaggerated hyperbole or anything.
the point is, Chris was swimming in another man's pool and that other man wasn't going to let it go unpunished......allegedly
Chris was framed and killed off.
Underrated. AA was a great wrestler. Loved The Enforcer.
WAKE UP... THIS IS NOT A WRESTLING PROMO! He is not 'promoting' a match or an angle. Arn is trying to save a young mans life and his soul. This is much bigger than 'rasslin. We all need to hear his words. The most important thing in this life, the ONLY thing that matters, is our relationship with God and our family. Everything else comes after that and must be in alignment with that. Life is short and eternity is forever. Make sure you are right with God and living your life right. B.I.B.L.E. = Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. Peace be with you!
Why u say that ?

In hindsight, it actually is. The added context makes this eerie to listen to.

This promo just gives me the chills. Just the fact that this ended the episode of Saturday Night for some reason just bugs me out. I get goosebumps whenever the "Copyright" graphic appears. Weird I know, but it's true.
that's how I felt watching the Brian Pillman gun incident, it ends that episode of Raw
@Alex nah this is totally different
I feel the same. Its very eerie. Shows usually end with a winner celebrating his victory, a beatdown, or brawl which leaves the viewer feeling hyped (or disappointed if its crap).
This ended in a quiet room with Arn speaking calmly about life lessons and an eerie foreshadowing of whats gonna happen. Leaves you wondering "wtf, whats he talking about? Whats the meaning behind this?" And Arn being such a kickass promo makes it all the more unsettling.
Sacrificed Benoit did not kill his family

Awesome this is just absolutely so over!! AA's calm tone exacerbates the disturbing darkness of what would later come . Anderson's look, his demeanor, and the subject matter were the variables needed to create an ominous foreshadowing for what we now know as the Benoit tragedy. Arn was the perfect person for this type of promo. He worked the stick on this one!!
somehow this feels like it was Arn speaking to Chris and not an angle
This is why I prefer these types of promos versus the kind you'd typically find in sports entertainment. Arn didn't have to scream, be overly animated, or spout a bunch of catchphrases to get his point across. The way he speaks, you believe every word he says because he delivers it with emotion. There's a weight to his words because it feels real and authentic because he's speaking from the heart instead of having to remember the words to a script he was given by a writer that's never been in a fight in his life.
Amazing words and advice from Arn Anderson to Chris Benoit. Too bad Benoit did not heed this advice.
Arn was an all time great. A true badass
Is it fair to summarize if he had been with a different women maybe things could have turned out differently! Why warn him about messing with another mans wife and family? @@000slasher
@@Cr0ssUP bwahahaha are u telling me tht you think Sullivan is a real life " satanist" ? Do u even know anything about real satanism if he were?

Also im alot more mature in my own life then i was 2 years ago. But with that being said my intent was not to convict Kevin but to more highlight that messing around in another mans home can cost you your life which was the message. If we want to say wrestling is all fake its apparent thee affair was not. And the warning for such a trespass was given from somebody who is older and more mature. Had Benoit headed to the message maybe his life would have been different.
@@Cr0ssUP the affair came about in a tale as old as time, spending lots of time together and attention to each other that lead to feelings. Triple H and Stephanie did the same thing..but my other point was tht satanism is NOTHING like the movies etc make it out to be, they're actually very humane people, animal lovers, keep to urself unless u bother my family kind of people, although Kevin Sullivan is neither version of a satanist 😂 its just the gimmick he got most over and he knows no other version of himself with a different gimmick would do better at all. Arn was so far ahead of everyone when it came to cutting promos. He knew when to be loud, he knew when to be quiet, he knew how to get his point across and put asses in seats. I hope all the AEW guys know what a treasure they have in him and mine it for all it's worth, because WWE seriously dropped the ball.
Arn and Jake Roberts perfected the ability to cut a promo using calm intensity which was very rare. masterful use of their characters and personalities. he wasn't kayfabe here. this was Arn being himself and we never knew how prophetic this shoot promo would become. great stuff even if it's difficult in hindsight
There's a lot of eerie coincidences with the benoit tragedy.....

Arn wasn’t just cutting a promo.
I mean, he was. Yes, the context of this whole monologue was some fabricated wrestling storyline that Benoit was involved in, but Arn Anderson speaks with so much concern that there was obviously a real-life issue going on with Benoit behind the scenes.
