I heard a story once, and I don't know if it's true, but I hope it is. Noriyuki Haga in practice at Hockenheim (?) was clocked in practice at 199mph, the highest speed ever recorded on a 500cc 2-stroke GP bike. The press were all over him between sessions. The next session he was clocked at 200mph, and the journo's asked what is was like doing 200mph on a motorcycle, and his response - "It's like 199mph, but a just little bit faster".

@blackened4me yeah true even 200kmh is lethal. I think in the future there top will be around 360kmh that's exciting enough for the rider & fans , if they don't start slowing them down pretty soon they be doing 400kmh.

I just love moto gp and bikes but it's a bit silly comparing them to F1. Despite being almost 30 mph faster on the straight gp bikes are like 30 seconds slower on the lap. F1 is so boring to watch but they are fast as bullet on a track.
Last time I went to Mugello for MotoGP (2019) Petrucci, Dovizioso and Marquez went 3-wide into turn 1 on the last lap. The podium was covered by .338 sec. F1 is just a fast parade of fancy nancies, it shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as MotoGP.
