I am edging close to retirement age and am looking forward to having a proper wood shop/shed built that I can dedicate to a give project. I am actually in the pre-planning stages for this project, I’ll be financially able to buy some much needed key equipment (proper table saw, planer, jointer, band saw, lathe, stationary sanders-flat and circular, as well as many many pony pipe clamps!!) my FIRST project will be a bench and I’ve decided to use pallet wood, you’ve inspired me! I truly LOVE working with wood, it’s my “Happy Place” (as well deer hunting alone in the woods on a snowy winter day). Please do more long format (1 hr or so). I enjoy the journey. Thanks!

This is such a great video I'm watching it a second time... Seeing the progression of your work was inspiring and I learned a lot of tips and tricks as well.
Found out about you through jespers channels. I stumbled across Jesper First then You and both channels have inspired to get back into the Hobby/Trade I fell in love with in my early teen yrs that unfortunately was spent in a reform school. I'm 40 now and want to work for myself while investing in myself as I go. It'll take time but thanks to good ol boys such as yourself and jesper among others have inspired me to get back into it. They say as long as your doing something you love it doesn't feel like work.?
Channels like this which have inspired me to get back into the grove, I started utlising pallets during covid but a bit of a dry spell and not done much since, I just grabed a second hand Router thicknesser and intend to start creating, keep up the good work, really enjoy the videos!
Never thought id watch not one multiple hour video of videos ive already seen but now two videos but here i am. Just as great as I remember them being lol
What an inspiration between yourself and Jesper. And you were right about the sawdust in the eyes. Looking forward to more content and more learning. Keep doing what you do Mark, it's fantastic. 👍❤️
Hi Mark - What a pleasant surprise stumbling upon your video while searching for wood staining tutorials! Initially, I mistakenly assumed it was just a 20-minute video, but after indulging in 2 beers and devouring 12 delectable Wagyu meatballs, I found myself engrossed in the full 2 hours, 8 minutes, and 37 seconds of your content. Your mantra, "Be Excellent to each other," really resonates with me. I absolutely admire every aspect of your video, from your witty, dry dad sense of humor to your efficient use of resources. I'm a big fan of my tools, and I've also hopped on the Dewalt power tool bandwagon, attracted by their fantastic redemption offers. Contrary to what some may say, I've found them to be exceptional tools, offering great value for the money. While I generally follow the "buy once, cry once" philosophy, I must admit that it has been quite beneficial in completing my projects. Next on my tool shopping list is pneumatic de-nailer I can imagine you've probably accumulated a fair share of nails over time. Have you ever considered selling them to a scrap metal dealer for some extra cash, or perhaps melting them down to create something creatively unique? The part of your video that delves into the pallet treatment process and the chemicals employed has provided me with invaluable insights. A truly heartwarming way to conclude the video, showcasing a wonderful father and family bonding woodworking session. I absolutely adore it. What a perfect way to wrap up the video, highlighting a heartwarming father and family bonding woodworking session. I absolutely love it. Although my son is only 4 years old, I can't wait for the day when we can enjoy such moments together. Here in Western Australia (and even in Melbourne, although regrettably none in Queensland), we're lucky to have an incredible woodworking store called Timbercon. Maybe it's worth reaching out to them for a potential sponsored collaboration or deal. As a final thought, it's clear we have a lot in common with our "be good and do good" motto. I'm also a frequent shopper at Bunnings, and I have a tip for you to save a little extra: consider registering for an ABN to apply for a Bunnings trade cash account. Once approved, you can cancel the ABN, and you'll save around 5-10% on most items. Your video has genuinely inspired me, and I want to express my heartfelt gratitude. Thank you for the incredible content! Ethan Le. Perth, Western Australia (The Wait Awhile State). PS. Apologies for the long winded comment - it only suited a long video pairs with a long comment.
Hello, never apologise for a long comment mate. I read them all, I can’t reply with the same word count though 🫡 appreciate it all Cheers and keep making
Amazing and inspiring 2 hours and 8 minutes. Thank you so much for this video. I truly enjoyed rewatching alot of your older content that I had never seen all in one pllace.
Easiest 2 hour video I've watched since forever :) Still trying to "Just Get Started" here, space and equipment are at a premium where I am but the main thing I have to get through is my mental health barrier of starting a new hobby. With my chemical based depression I've stopped so many hobbies I've enjoyed and some I wasn't too bad at doing so it's the dread of starting something I'm really interested in doing and then the dark cloud deciding it's not for me anymore. Hopefully one day I'll Get Started, not as a side hustle, I just want to make nice things and give them to people, not like the tables I don't have Elon money lol just as little gifts or something like that :) Much love from way over the pond in the UK and keep up the amazing videos :)

I've always liked working with pallet wood, and seeing what other people create with it. But I'm mostly here for the great story telling. It's fun to watch the journey. Great work!
Cheers mate. Hope you like the next story out shortly 😆
2 hours and i didnt even know you were still on about it. I've been sanding the whole time 😂😂
All good mate. Pressing play and going to do something else helps us both haha
Mark seen all the videos before.... however still great to watch ya again.... you give me the inspiration to get back in the garage and ....stuff...😂🤣... thank you 👍👍
that is awesome to hear. Enjoy mate!
Absolutely and quite literally top notch. The open and Frank presentation is much appreciated sir. Thank you ....... 2hrs very well spent .... 👍
What better way to spend my down time with twisted intestine then to watch a 2+ hour video of the Pallet King. Loved every minute.
oooh, that does not sound like fun mate. Hope a few hours on the couch helped
Thanks for helping inspire me and giving me some confidence to just get started
Hey thank you very much. Nice little surprise 🙏 Hope you enjoy the ride mate. Be safe have fun
Just wanna drop in again just through watching this 4th time back in shop tomorrow so thought I'd get some inspiration with this and this morning's video.
Dude! You are to kind to me mate. Seriously thank you
@@dainermade to easy m8 u deserve it. It's not said enough but you are proper inspiration to what can be done in small space with limited tools and resources. U deserve everything comes your way and incase u hadn't realised 1 your kinda likeable and 2 becoming an influencer!😮😂🏴👍
Im halfway through. Loving it mate. No way ive ever watched a 2 hour 8 min vid on youtube before. Im treating it like a box set. 🇬🇧🏴✌️
Thanks mate, there will not be one this long for a while again haha
The more videos of the most random stuff i see from ppl living down under, the more i wanna live there too.
i'm 54 now, and the older i get , the more i think i missed my carpentry calling.. have a good job in internet networking, but working with wood is just so nice.. already starts with the smell of it, love it.. nice video mate!
I can’t believe you made great finger joints just using a table saw! Wow!
One of the most entertaining video I watched on RUclips. Keep up the great work Mark you are a legend mate!

@@dainermade It was absolutely great to travel with you through the past few years
Both you and Jesper has given me the confidence to start woodworking. I'll be starting my first project soon.
That is great to hear 🫡
Your pallet furniture looks awesome and inspiring.
Clicked on this not looking at how long it was, thinking it was gonna be 20 minutes or so
Watched the whole thing because the more i watched, the more inspired i got
Ive found somewhere recently that I'll be able to soon set up a little shop, and the way that you dont over spend on tools is so reassuring that i should be able to do this even with limited budget
Many thanks, great video!
Thanks very much mate. I have a new video coming, again about basics and tools to think about
Mark what an amazing 4 years - seen most of your videos and inspired a few weeks ago I made a step stool - from a few gifted pine pallets! Very happy with the addition to my workshop. Thanks for all your inspiration!
Awesome mate. And thanks for watching. Enjoy the shed
You and Jesper helped get me into wood working. I'm working on making my shop with pallet wood and its coming along great.
That is awesome! All the best
You can tell when each video was made by the size of the beard, excellent video 👍
Except the time my employer made me shave 😠
That is exactly right mate. Very stoked to hear you’re back at it. Plenty of time
Channels like this which have inspired me to get back into the grove, I started utlising pallets during covid but a bit of a dry spell and not done much since, I just grabed a second hand Router thicknesser and intend to start creating, keep up the good work, really enjoy the videos!
Thanks mate! Glad to hear your having a good go at it too
Never thought id watch not one multiple hour video of videos ive already seen but now two videos but here i am. Just as great as I remember them being lol
I appreciate that mate, As long as you're not cutting I to your shed time haha
watched the whole video with my toddler sleeping on my chest... best time of my life
What an inspiration between yourself and Jesper. And you were right about the sawdust in the eyes. Looking forward to more content and more learning. Keep doing what you do Mark, it's fantastic. 👍❤️
Thanks again mate
Next on my tool shopping list is pneumatic de-nailer
I can imagine you've probably accumulated a fair share of nails over time.

PS. Apologies for the long winded comment - it only suited a long video pairs with a long comment.
Hello, never apologise for a long comment mate. I read them all, I can’t reply with the same word count though 🫡 appreciate it all
Cheers and keep making
Amazing and inspiring 2 hours and 8 minutes. Thank you so much for this video. I truly enjoyed rewatching alot of your older content that I had never seen all in one pllace.
You are so welcome! It was a nice look back for me too
Easiest 2 hour video I've watched since forever :) Still trying to "Just Get Started" here, space and equipment are at a premium where I am but the main thing I have to get through is my mental health barrier of starting a new hobby.
Love the long format and all the work you obviously put into putting this together, and the pallet stuff is pretty cool too 😎
I appreciate that! slightly shorter viewing will be out soon 😉
Wow that's a long video! But it has inspired me. This year for Christmas I made cutting boards from......
Pallets! Making sure they were all heat treated. Your ideas for projects are awesome. Thank you .
awesome. thank you
Mark I want to thank you for your entertaining but informative video. I've always wanted to get into woodworking and giving it go at creating something usable. There was something always standing in the way. MONEY & TOOLS. But you have given me the inspiration to get started. Thank you.
Mate, you're an absolute inspiration. Every time I watch one of your videos, it's like a fire is lit under my arse. Love your work, mate. And I hope you make it down for the meetup. Cheers. 🍺🍺👍
Hey Chris, I made it to your comment. Mate, that means a great deal to me. We will meet again I promise
You and Jesper competing for the longest video ? The two of you have been an inspiration to me...might get round to doing a RUclips video myself soon.
A year ago, I was sitting and thinking the same thing watching these two inspirations on youtube. A year later, here I am! Dainsy is right, you just need to start and if I can...you definitely can too.
These guys are bros, no competition, just a tad friendly rivalry perhaps👍🏻
Iv just quit my job and just like @heybails854 you and jasper have been a true inspiration, I'm in the middle of converting my shed in to a work shop 👍🏼
@@barberspaddockwoodworking Will let you know when the first video goes online
@@onemansjunk01 I have subscribed. Lets do this together.
I just love your stuff - could watch yout videos all day long.
Great video mate. Not a great fan of long videos but enjoyed yours. Alas couldn’t find the Amazon link for the de-nailer. Keep up the good work
Hi Robert, sorry I am just trying to catch up on the comments. Glad you emailed me though. cheers
I’ve got over a hundred pallets but I’m always looking for the hard woods and other exotic species! Thanks to you I’m a pallet junkie now! I’ve been a woodworker as a hobby so of course I have all the tools, now I just need to get to it!
Buddy, I used to live in Brizzy but back in Ireland again now. Have to say you definitely made me laugh with your sayings " clamp the shit out of it" brilliant. It reminded me of the great times I had as a tradie out there. I build a lot with pallets now ( but mainly smaller items) and you videos are a great inspiration. Thanks.
Now this is entertainment 👏 love this! Have been handed some tools from an old boy who’s unwell 😢 and can’t use them any more. Circle saw, jigsaw, 3 sanders, a drill and more chisels than any made could need 🤣 looking forwards to having a go at some basic stuff. This looks. A little high end for me to start on but I’m defo gonna aim for the awesome look
You are just simply a fantastic, riot! Great content, methods, and super entertaining!! Not to mention, pretty cute too 😉
Thank you very much 😆 stoked you like the channel 👌
Man you are fantastic, I have learned a lot with your videos, finished my first wood pallet project few weeks ago, all inspired in your channel. Thank you so much
That is awesome! Keep going 🫡
Great video, great channel. Thanks for taking the time and trouble.
Thank you. Loved every minute. Great projects.

Love your very practical approach. Sensible and smart.
I appreciate that! Thank you
Great video, loved all the results. Congratulations to your son on his bench - hope he keeps up the woodworking too tfs
I absolutely love your videos. You're an amazing personality and maker.
Thank you so much! And too kind
I bought that ozito 5 pack and a pocket hole jig, when i moved to aus a few months ago. I'd never used a saw before and my wife wanted a shoe rack. I have since invested in some tools and I now spend every weekend in the shed making something. Thanks for the long form video it took 2 days to watch but i enjoyed it.
To easy mate. I have those tools as well 👊
First time viewer. Great video and it's giving me ideas. Thanks!
Awesome! Thank you!
Hey buddy love the Bill & Ted behind you at 4:56.
Cheers mate. I like it to and what it represents
That was 2 hours, 8 minutes and 37 seconds well invested. An absolutely brilliant video. I have learnt a lot and look forward to starting my hobby shop soon. Thank you very much from a subscribed fan in the UK. Be excellent to each other 🎸. Live long & prosper. 🖖
Haha 😆 cheers mate and may the force be with you. Guess we should throw that in as well lol
Love it great inspiration and love the efforts
Thank you so much!
I really enjoyed this advice. Thankyou. I've had an interest in wood and epoxy for a few years now but had a lot of self doubt. After this past year, I've decided to finally give it a go and make some art, furniture and such once I am out of this bad situation. Love the comedy aswell, you Aussies always make me laugh at a Brit 🤣🤣 subscribed and hit the bell 😊
Mark, what a great time watching for 2 hours your journey on pallet wood builds. It brought back fond memories of past videos I think I have seen most of them. Good luck with your journey, and thank you for including your son, that father son bond is something that is needed more. Good luck again and keep the videos comming

Awesome, thank you! I was a marathon... enjoy what ever you get up to
I have got to stop watching Danie and Jesper cinematic montages and go make some stuff... but this has been ridiculous fun :)
That is what we love to hear. get out there and make while the sun is up.
Worth every second of watching. You sir have the JuJu.
I have to commend you on the projects but, mostly that you are including a very useful SKILL in your lad’s schooling. Good on you! You get my vote for “Teacher DAD Of The Year”!
Thanks for that! Really nice to hear Dave
Great to see Australian content! You’ve given me heaps of ideas that I hope to try out soon. Thanks 😁
Awesome, how inspiring. Thanks for all the great ideas, and sharing your story. I just made my first card scraper from and old saw blade and man does it increase my efficiency finishing. Thanks again for sharing!
"I clamp the absolute sheet outta them!" Perfect.
lol .. the right amount of clampage haha
I don’t usually watch anything longer than 30 minutes or so, maybe 45 max - but I’m loving the energy in this video so I know I’m gonna watch it all . . . but it’s after 1am here and I have a longish drive tomorrow so I’m gonna pause it, grab some zzzz and watch the rest tomorrow.
I love it! I love your Bill and Ted sign too. That clock is amazing. You guys (Morley, Jasper, and now you) have really gotten me excited to start wood working. I originally started watching My DIY Wife, a couple years ago. She is amazing at cabinet making and finish work, you should check her out. She lives in Texas with her family. We, my two little boys and I, are in transition, selling my house and buying one closer to my big boys. I can't wait to get my tools moved and really get started. Thanks for the inspiration and entertainment. RUclips is great at connecting people all around the world. Thanks from Pennsylvania, USA.
Awesome video mate! You are the reason I have gotten into wood work and…Just got started 🤙 Past the honeymoon stage and still love it! Pallet punter, I thank you my friend.
Awesome mate! Highly addictive… never in doubt you’d get through the honeymoon haha
