From South Africa, it is easy to get to SpB. Nothing changed. There are no direct flights anyway. We fly to Istanbul and from there to SpB. Visa-free entry for South Africans to Russia. My wife's tourism business in Cape Town is booming because Russians can also travel to South Africa without a visa. They have Russian-speaking guides :)

Visa update. From the 1st of August Russia started e-visa service. 54 country citizens can apply for e-visa which is valid for 16 days. You can stay up to 60 days a year in Russia with e-visa. Visa processed in 4 days including weekends. The visa fee is 40 USD.

Hello Igor, interesting your channel I can give my experience. I have two citizenships (Italian and Argentinian), whit my Argentinian passport I can stay 90 days (in total 180 in all the year, just need to go outside and come back after 90 days outside), whit Italian passport I need to do a visa. I travelled in January to Saint Petersburg, from Finland by bus (lux express, cost around 200 go and back, from Helsinki), to exchange I did without problems in a exchange office (euro to rubbles). European debit card I couldn´t use. I don't know if you have information about cards from other continents (for example to south America). And I have a question for you, if you know about if there is some way to send money because I saw basically all its blocked( wester union, wise, payoneer, etc). Thanks in advance and I hope helps to someone this information.

Thanks for all the information! Can you help me with two questions?
    - First, whats the procedure when crossing the border by bus from Finland? You get out of the Bus and there's a line to leave Finland, then you cross to the other side, and there's another line to enter Russia? I didn't find any video with specifics about this process. If you could provide a small step by step, would be great! Just so I know what to expect over there.
    - Second, I heard that you need a health travel insurance to enter the country (my country doesn't need a Visa to enter Russia), do you know any trustworthy companies?
    Thanks once again!

Hey, great,, where are you from?
I have some videos from almost at the border on channel as part f my bus videos (Guide -playlist), but filming on the border is forbidden in any country. but its simple as you said, theres to different one way sides at the border. if you are in the bus, you are guided, but very simple.
I go throu th process in my guide videos for example: ruclips.net/video/_RrARzxWKGY/видео.html
The travel insurance shouldnt be expensive, quite affordable, just take any normal travl insurance from your country, it is necessry for visa and good thing for your personal use just in case. If you dont need a visa, I doubt they are asking for it at the border crossing

      Hi@@Igorinrussia
Im from Brazil. Gladly most countries from south america (maybe all) dont need Visa for Russia.
And thanks, the video near the border helped a lot! I guess I will just follow the instructions at the border.
I would like to get travel insurance in my country, but unfortunately, they are not valid anymore if you are traveling to Russia, even if you get a world wide plan.
So I'm guessing I will have to go without it. (I'm still trying to find a trustworthy insurance outside of my country, but hard to know which ones are good).

Looking to get my visa to meet a friend in Saint Petersburg over the winter.
Also, this is my first time travelling out of the country, and I have a plan to fly to Helsinki and take the Sovavto bus line to get into Saint Petersburg. Very fast. Very convenient. And from what I can see, very cheap. However, I do have some questions:
Will I need a travel visa to travel through Helsinki as a US citizen?
Also, I am seeing some articles about Finland closing its border with Russia. Will that restrict me from entering the country? Because it seems to me that they are only restricting Russian immigrants from crossing the border into Finland, but not United States nationals from entering Russia?

I you fly fto Helsinki, your choice is to got o tallinn, narva, border cross, then off to SpB. You can take a bus from Tallinn "straight" to SpB by Lux Express but the border has to be crossed by foot ( lux express other bus is waiting for the passengers)...
I prefer lately personally, to travel to Narva from Tallinn by train, cross the border then take the minibus from russsian side (Ivangorod town is right across the border). Your choice. There are newer video on my Travel Russia playlist.

I can suggest, does that need to include rent? Otherwise food is very cheap, fast food 3-5 euros per meal (5e if yiure having a big meal) , stolovayas around 3 euros, coffee is in a proper cafe 1-2 euros. How often yiu wanna go to restaurants?
Meal would be 10-15 euros, how about leisure, museums are 3-10 euros

Hi Igor, I have a question. what is your opinion of average cost per day for travelling in Moscow and St Petersburg now? Considering all hotels and train tickets already booked.... I'm very comfortable with budget trip, public transportation, cheap restaurants. But I heard everything is quite expensive in Russia now.

    • @Igorinrussia
      @Igorinrussia  11 месяцев назад

Moscow was only a littl bit more expensive in general Some of the tourist locationswere absurd tho like panorama view in Moscow city (92nd floor for 1800m ruböe, 18 bucks. that is very expensive for russia compairing to Saint Petersbirg). I was able to book super cheap 2 star hotl (video coming soon) for 30 bucks a night in the center...similar ot saint oetersburg pricing approximately. train tickets srom spb to mosco are at chepeast 50 bucs one-way..but are much more expensive if tickera sold out. I actually flew for 60-60 bucks to moscow. But all this is very affordabe. especially when Russia is actually in the contrary to your comment , much more cheaper beause f the rate.

And i highly recommend you to do what Igor adviced...Be happy with his videos.
