@@Igorinrussia Thanks for all the information. I will watch some of those videos. If i can for me is better to travel from Helsinki to St. Petersburg and then Tallin. The only route with that bus company is Tallin - St. Petersburg at least right now.
Many thanks Igor for an interesting and very informative video. Out of interest would it be possible to buy a bus ticket from Narva to St. Petersburg but only use the ticket from Ivan Gorod? @@neilmacdonald9501 Many thanks Neil. Kind of you to be so helpful. I have a Russian daughter and so I need to plan ahead for my visits to Russia to see her - I live in the UK. It was immensely helpful and enabled me to make my second trip to Russia from Europe without needing to transfer in Turkey (which I don’t like-their flights are never on time). The procedure into Russia was not great and I waited for 6 hours on the Narva side of the checkpoint (when there’s only a short line in front of me). The way back was much better and waiting time on the Ivangorod side was only 2 hours, which is very reasonable, despite a longer line.

Hi! Did you have any issues getting back into Estonia after going into Russia? I want to go from Narva to Petersburg, and then back to Narva. Is this possible?
Narva is not a Russian city in Estonia, Narva is the Estonian city where the most Russians or Russian-speaking people live. Almost all of them settled there or were sent from Russia during the Soviet era. After the war, the inhabitants of Narva were not allowed to return to the city, or rather to what was left of this once wonderful Hanseatic city - the ruins. New residents were brought from across the Narva River to Russify the city and the entire Estonian area. Such was the national policy of the Soviets. And Putin's Russia wants it back. By the way, before World War II, Ivangorod was also a district of Narva, and the border between the Republic of Estonia and Soviet Russia was ten kilometers to the east in the village of Komarovka. It's not even Russia, it's Inger's Land.
Do you know if there is a bus or train from Ivangorod to St. Petersburg? Might be worth it to take an Estonian train to Narva, cross on foot, and then take a bus or train from Ivangorod to Piter...
Here's a little more info maybe in this video ruclips.net/video/fRSTrdEMx8Y/видео.html But If you walk from Narva to Russia, you can take mini busses leaving from main road's hotel Vityaz few times per day, I think last one left at 18:00.
