As a small home repair contractor, I really should wish B.R. Forton a very Merry Christmas. Thank you, guys, for keeping me gainfully employed for many years.
We built with DR Horton. I work in construction so I did walkthroughs every other day and hassled them through the whole process. We got a well built home. I’ve seen horror stories
I've seen cardboard and pallet houses in downtown Portland that are more stable and well made than the houses some of these big developers are crapping out.
@jms0313 Addict ingenuity knows no bounds, especially when that person already had an established skillet like carpentry, and knows how to steal tools and materials. It can be incredible what they build under the freeways.
I've been looking for a house and I have to say, this man seems pretty trustworthy. I'm in! You know, after I fix all the stuff that should have been built right the first time.
If it were built "right", how would you learn to be a man/she-man?! You'd be losing a whole lotta value if he'da builtcha a home you didn't have to fix! The man's dunya a big service, for free!
Thank you for putting up such good housing Mr. Forton! That housing is gonna be great for my workers families to live in while they work 90 hours a week! Not that I give a shit about their families of course. Gonna push to see if we can get 100 hours out of them this week! I sent out an all hands bulletin to bring a sleeping bag for this week. And absolutely no OT of course. I'm not gonna let those greedy line workers eat into MY bonus! If you need me I'll be out back polishing my new boat for this weekend's lake trip.
totally unrealistical youd never get your own hands dirty polishing your boat, youd pay someone to do it(he will also do your wife when youre not looking)
As inspector of roads in these subdivisions they build in which we have no say on the houses only the streets in them in our county in Alabama this is so true , watching (BR Hortons) work and knowing things that are redone to code later.
That's exaxtly how the warranty on my brand new home went. That or if you did speak to someone they always had to get parts and they'd call you back then they'd 'forget' to call you back.
My grandparents had MI build a house in the early 00's. They had to come and redo things every step of the build. Luckily, my grandpa built houses his entire life and knew what he was looking at. I'm sure their average client had no idea. As always, this video is spot on.
Only if it slowly drives him mad, because the house keeps getting delayed, and interest rates start to climb, so it gonna raise his note, and "how much bullshit he's having the deal with, because he thinks the sheetrock looks terrible." So he keeps having the Super do green tapes over and over, and the patches on the wall look as stupid as a dick on a fish.
Oh hell yeah! Warehouse manager needs a better lake house with high speed internet, now that he's working from home so much, and just so happens the lake house he's buying is in a BR Forton development on a man made lake!
@@Constantineopulosdamn I thought toll brothers was a fancy home builder. In my area they just finished building homes that sell for $700k and up. That neighborhood has the best golf course and tennis courts around.
@@justinmailloux3799 It's nice and pretty, now. Just wait for the buildings to age a bit, and the people who live there will learn how cheaply the homes the live in were constructed.
Had a woman on my electrical crew back when we was doing a duke power steam station. Great worker, good party buddy, and an absolute wonderful mf time at the house. I’m all for ladies in the work force
I gotta say... you do a hell of a job on these videos, they are all hilarious and crazy, but that have a good bit of truth and real life circumstances in them to keep them grounded. Whoever is writing them, they're doing a helluva good job and your acting in them is fantastic. Awesome stuff! Please keep it up!
I loved living in a neiborhood where new houses were popping up all the time. Ide go walk through them was neat being on the second floor with no walls built yet.
I’ll give them credit we bought our first house from one of their subsidiary brands. I guess you could call it and we really got lucky. We had a very good builder very knowledgeable no nonsense wanted to do the job right and even after we closed on the house when we drove to Take our first pictures and what not he was still there finishing up the last few things that needed to be fixed he didn’t leave anything because he knew we were on our closing day. He made sure he got the job done and I can say after a year so far we’ve been pleased with no problems or issues.
Your problem is that those homes aren't built to last. I used to do the electrical in those houses and we did our best but the framing, walls, and insulation is where they really cheap out. We called them 15 year homes because that's about all they're good for. I'd try to sell it sooner than later if I were you.
I built a farm outbuilding for our farm here and put a cheapo reclaimed door in it. It's a literal barn to hold several hundred baby chickens out of the weather. My door frame, and latch mechanism, which I carved out of a piece of OSB shim with a screwdriver, closes much better and far smoother than the new construction house's front door at 4:10 haha.
My dad took over a contract to finish some houses that the original contractor had abandon. Let's just say that those houses were more sheetrock mud and caulk than wood and concrete. In fact there were cracks developing in the driveway and mortar between the bricks before we ever got started. It was a freaking nightmare to fix.
My wife bought me a b.r. forton t-shirt for my birthday. We own a handyman company and spend a large amount of time going back and fixing these new houses when the drywall falls off the ceilings and walls.. also order a size up in the shirts because they run a little small
You know a builder is putting out a good quality product when you have to be buzzed into their corporate offices! You can’t just walk in, you have to be buzzed, and like you were walking into a damn pawn shop or something!
We put 1600 houses on four acres of land. How? That’s our secret. Why? Because community matters. One lucky winner will receive a call from our warranty devision. XD you are a comedic genius
They build tough houses in Florida retirement communities! They make the olds sign book thick leases then use the HOA to shanghai them, then the developers just resale the houses - so yeah some of the toughest houses ever built.
It’s been 30 years or so but I don’t forget . The bullying to get the materials out yesterday with zero notice and then demands to pick up returns . I saw the work at the job sites . Wow
Oh sweet Jesus that's on point. One thing you need to add is the Styrofoam outside walls. And maybe the fact that most of the walls in the house aren't nailed to the floor, so you can push them when needed.
I do service calls for a builder like this. Every bit of this is spot on. What's sad, is here in Florida, Mexicans will do the work for half the price and still do a better job. They're good, hard working people.
and then if they ask for what they’re worth, the boss calls his buddy at ICE has the whole crew round it up and he brings in a new batch of them that will stay working cheap and face zero consequences for using undocumented workers, even if he can use his pull to get them visas, they’re far more complicit, if they’re under threat of deportation
@@TheLegendOZelda360 one of my bosses is on the city council. When someone brought up the new laws that will prosecute employers that have illegal immigrants, his response was "well that's only if you do it knowingly" haha, I think about screwing him over from time to time
