- The Himalayan Queen - affectionately known as the "Toy Train" - offers one of the world's most iconic scenic railway journeys as it snakes up more than 100km to Shimla, high in the Himalayan foothills. It's a wonderful journey which, for me, didn't go without its dramas.

this train journey is beautiful...i did it in 2020 beginning...but the 3rd class compartment looks so crowded and bad...the first class is amazing its peaceful,good seats and they serve coffee and breakfast
I was aiming for such a luxurious experience but it didn't quite pan out that way. I'm just grateful I (barely) managed to catch the train! While 3rd class was crowded, everyone was pretty friendly so that made it a memorable experience.
