Just tried your advice for changing driver-side spark plugs on my 2004 Safari. Wow, what a difference! Man, I used to dread that job. Some times I would spend hours trying to get that dam last plug. I appreciate your help....

Listen buddy you really helped me, I was telling my brother I found a video that the RUclips guy is thinking outside the box, all the other videos I watched had no real solution for the drivers side plugs. I loosened the body mounts and lifted it about the half inch you said, and bam there they were. Saved me a lot of stress!
    Thanks again!

Bravo! I did a 3" body lift, and the plug/wire job is a dream.

Thank you ive got the same exact van I just put a new water pump in and a new thermostat and it's still leaking so I realized it's a valve cover gasket so I'm going to replace that here in the next day or two but while I have the dog House off I thought I'd change the plugs well your video was really helpful because I knew that there was going to be an issue with getting to the plugs from the inside of the van so thank you

It’s leaking coolant? Sounds like an intake gasket problem. Very common. The plastic garbage factory gaskets disintegrate. Replacement is a miserable task.

@@testmcgee9230 ya it is i ended up finding the spot and after all the work ive done it turned out to be just that , unfortunately I broke off the end of one the valve cover bolts when I was putting it back in had a weak spot I guess cuz it just twisted right off they got the tiny skinny little fucking piece at the end it's just a ridiculous design.... So now I got to deal with getting that fucking thing out of there and now I got to tear the whole top end off to get to the fucking gasket I'm just frustrated and one good thing is I got a new thermostat new water pump new hoses and new gaskets new valve cover gaskets and now I'm going to have a new intake manifold gasket I'm going to change everything else while I'm in there I guess I might have to rebuild the whole goddamn engine while I'm at it!! I can't believe how hard this damn van is to work on what a terrible design!

Sorry to hear that. It is a pretty involved job. I replaced the disintegrated factory gaskets with Fel-Pro steel and neoprene(?) gaskets a few years ago and they’ve stayed sealed.
Not sure if you’ve taken out the front seats but it makes working on the top of the engine slightly less miserable.

Also you might want to replace the injector spider while you’re in there. You won’t want to mess with that area ever again!

GM doesn't tell you how to pull those plugs. If you own a GM product, you must figure it out yourself
