My opinion on why you are tasting it stronger from the Bev is from I could see the Bartesian kind of poured everything out at once where the Bev seemed to have separate stages while the drink was being dispensed and it did not look as well mixed than the other. Maybe the alcohol was on top?
Fantastic review. Both machines do the trick but for me, the price and look of the particular bottles puts the Bev ahead. Yes, it's a little louder but it's not like a mixer or blender kind of loud.
Considering buying one of these machines. I was looking at the Bartesian initially, but your comparison have me leaning towards the Bev. Love the style of the Bev as well….I don’t mind the look of the bottles. The Bartesian’s mixture looks more concentrated so I’m surprised to hear the Bev tastes stronger. Love the LCD display on the Bartesian. But the price is more attractive for the Bev! Thanks for sharing! 👏🏾
I have a bartesian and I love it. If you want flashy display and larger machine go with the bev. I personally like the sleekness of the bartesian and it does make tasty drinks.
I love my bartesian but great comparison. I like the LEDS but for me I prefer not to show the bottles and the Bartisian looks more sleek and fancy with no LEDS, (feels more adult) and a nice display of the spirits without showing brands. But again, great job I really enjoyed this video.
I'm surprised that you did not mention the fact that you can use up to 6 bottles with Bev versus only 4 with Bartesian. I think its a big plus for Bev.
I got my Bartesian in early July, not being aware of the BEV at the time. IMO the Bev looks janky. I've seen folks use universal bottles for it which improves the look somewhat but that's adding additional cost to the unit. But that is the only advantage for the BEV. My biggest gripe with the Bartesian is the need to swap out Gin and Rum (from the shared location) depending on which drink is being poured. Ideally I'd like to see a unit that could allow configurable locations for each alcohol. In my case, I prefer whiskey drinks much less so it would make sense to make that the "swappable" one. That said, I'm really happy with the Bartesian, and still prefer it looks-wise to the alternative and think it is worth the extra $70 for the premium appearance. Appreciate the side-by-side review.
I agree.. I'm not sure why you can't interchange all 4 slots on the screen. It should be easy to tell the machine where you have placed each different spirit.
Don't forget that 1) you lose some booze when flipping over the container (as seen in the video) and 2) there is still some alcohol left in the internal tube of the Bartesian until the other alcohol pushes it through. I was sold on the Bartesian's minimalist and elegant design until I read about these issues in another review.
Thank you for this comparison... I've been on the fence...but unfortunately for me... I'm still on the fence...love the sleek look of Bart and screen...but like the easy access to changing the bottles on the Bev...checking out the Bart Professional...then I'll decide...again Thank You so much...
Thanks so much for this great review! I'm weighing both of these options. I like that the Bev will make it easier to switch out different types of the same liquor, like rye versus bourbon whiskey, dark rum instead of white, etc. without having to empty and refill the containers. And you get to see the different bottles, which I like. The only knock I see is that it takes up more bar space than the Bart and it sounds much louder.
Looking at the color variation, the Bartesian does a better job at mixing the drink vs the Bev. That is why the Bev tastes stronger because all the alcohol is sitting on top.
Not true. If you see the detailed reviews of the Bartesian it also first takes the liquor and then the water. Never mixes the same time. Its not a mixer. Its like a doffee machine and milk. Both do exactly the same. Thats in the barcode system, both identical. So i dont agree with you. Just the amount of water can be slightly different, that will cause diff taste.
Great review! It sounded like the Bev was a bit louder than the Bartesian. BTW, the Bartesian is on sale for Prime Day. So, for members the cost is the same as the Bev. Thank you very much for this review. It has helped me make a purchasing decision!
The big difference is the Bev holds more types of liquor w/o having to swap bottles and since they take the liquor up from the bottle and not down like the Bartesian there should be no liquor sitting sitting in the pipes.
I currently have both, & imo the Bart is a better quality machine. The Bev just have the glitz & glam of the lights. But you do have a choice to display your bottles, or buy the glass bottles for the Bev, for an extra $50.
I have the Bev and just set it up. I can tell I'm going to like this machine. Based on what I need and what I like I think it beats our the bartesian for me.
With my bartesian I found the whiskey reacted with the rubber resulting in bottle leakage other ones seem okay. So i replaced that top and keep whiskey upright when not in use. The upright bottle of B&D wins for me. Aside... you really need to keep vinegar and water in reservoir when not in use to avoid mold and clogging. And keep up with maintenence instructions. THANKS FOR THE COMPARISON, excellent!
@@Trellsouth I have both. The Bartesian is a better quality machine. But the Bev have all the bells & whistles. I don't think it will last though. We'll 👀. I might send the Bev back. or I may sell the Bartesian. 🤷🏾♀️🤔
Another point. The Bartesian 4 bottle machine current MSRP is $370 while the Bev is $250. (Bartesian sells a 2 bottle version for $250) On the other hand, You have to buy the narrower 750ml bottles or smaller with the Bev to fit on the machine. With the Bartesian you can buy gallon jugs which are cheaper in the long run and just fill the carafes as necessary. Booze is expensive so you can probably make up the upfront cost in a year or two.
Interesting point I am trying to collaborate with them to send me new units I will take all the notes from the comments and do a new video tbh I love the look of the Bartesian pro and beeing able to lock the unit is a nice feature!
Thanks for the great review. Thinking of buying one. Price doesnt matter that much to me as in my opinion the major costs are the capsules itself. I think the bev wins on all fronts te be honest. Love to display the bottles, and of not you can buy (cheap) glass bottles, but changing liquour is awegull imo. Also the upside down will always leak after few months. Then why switching gin and rum? Stupid. The bev has 6 containers and the Bartesian should have done that too. The display.. well i always hear its s pro.. but it isnt. I prefer simple knob, turn and push. And most vids i saw on youtube people have issues with the touchscreen that doest react half of the time. And the functionality isnt there to change amounts or have lots in menu. Its basically choose and push so no need for dispkay. I think for the Bartesian the new professional is better, but still change rum and gin. For me at least the bev wins all comparison, the Bartesian looks neat i think, but i can not get over the upside down bottles system and spilling and combining rum and gin. So for me the Bev and if you like less liquor then the Bartesian duet i think.
I was 👀 for this comparison. Great comparison. Thx. 🙂.. I've only had my Bartesian for a year, & I'm not getting another cocktail machine right now. The Bev is nice though. 👀.. Lol
Well, I have both (😄). And there both nice. But I have to say, I like the Bartesian better. It's just a better quality machine. The glitz & glam of the Black & Decker is nice. But will it last, as long as the Bartesian?
I didn't see you stir the finished drink. The first drink the Bev seemed to have two phases (darker on bottom phase). Perhaps alcohol last added to glass? Nice review overall. Thanks
I saw the same difference!!! It looked like the Bev needed to be stirred before serving so one is not getting hit with the alcohol right from the punch! Maybe the Bartesian blends the pod mix and alcohol better.
Interesting review. I have the Bev and my only complaint is the taste on all drinks. I'm now wondering if its the Bev or capsule that's making my drinks tastes bad. I do notice that some drinks need to be stirred and i'm also learning not to use crushed ice because i feel like i have a smaller amount every time. I sure wish Bartesian would put out more pods to big box stores. Don't like having to order through them only to get the good drinks.
I don’t drink but I do want to get one for patty’s. One potential issue with the bev. In the video all the liquor bottle are straight up however don’t some liquor bottles come in different shapes? Wouldn’t that cause a spacing issue with the bottles?
Looked like on the Bev it didn't mix as well as the Bartesian so more alcohol was on the top which maybe why it tasted stronger. Idk though just my speculation
Thank you for an awesome review! I'm having trouble finding how tall the BEV unit is and I only have space under a cabinet to put it. Could you tell me how tall it is?
One thing you didn’t cover, it sounded like the B&K was MUCH louder. Maybe that was you microphone, but sounded like the B&K was much louder which is a definite detractor.
I cannot believe that you didn't mention, in functionality segment, that Bartesian has one slot for rum and gin. That's a huge deal. Even if Bev cost 2x Bartesian, I wouldn't consider Bartesian. That's a huge flaw in the design for sth that cost over 150$. Bartesian could improve upon the design - disjoint rum and gin slots and add water bottle like Bev has.

Great review! A couple of questions: What about the soda re: Vodka/Soda, Whiskey/Soda or Tonic? Also does the straw in the bottle, reach the bottom of the bottle, if not, I guess you need to dump the rest into a new bottle?
Agreed with your verdict. Love to flaunt the original bottle. What i meant was the Bartesian bottle system has the alcohol in contact with the plastic bottle cap and valve upside down. Alcohol and plastic are not good when kept long for health. Waiting for the kirkland version of the capsule form costco. 😂
I had no idea you can secure down the pod in the Bartesian before closing the lid. That may be way i sometimes have issue with the pods and spraying. Thanks for the review. I want to jump to the BEV but I got my Bartesian about 8-10 months from my wife so I’ll keep it for a while 😂
I was thinking the same thing that the Bev didn’t mix it straight and when you looked at your first one, you can see that the bed had more whiteish color on the top where the bar Tesian was completely mixed so the whitest that I saw on the top was probably between the ice and the liquor, even though it look like it poured the liquor up from the bottle first but it didn’t release it into the glass.
Which model of icemaker do you have, and how do you like it? All the YT reviews I found were the auto-generated cash grabs vids so no real opinons. Thx
Awesome review I brought the bartesian for my sis over two years ago she loves it still does and I'm currently looking for on myself but wanted to check out a comparison between that and the bev first.
I noticed in both the Bev unboxing and in this side-by-side comparison that you didn't mention Bev can use five different liquors which I guess means no changing out of liquor types like with the Bartesian. You also never mentioned if the Bev has labels on the machine to tell you which liquor goes in which spot. Now I am not a drinker so this might be a dumb question, why are they adding water to the drink? That seems strange to me.
You definitely have to have e caser with the black and decked. Come to find out, B&B uses kesswater than then the bartesian. The ferry, you are getting more alcohol from the B&B verses a bartesian
I have a Bartisian and wishes it looked more like the Drinkworks. Now I see the Bev but see there may be a Bartisian Pro! 😭😭🤣 This is stressing me out! I wanna upgrade! LOL
The stronger tasting drink was probably due to the fact that you let the first one sit the entire time you set up and filmed the black and decker. The melting ice watered it down.
I appreciate the comparison and reviews! While this sounded like a cool concept, I don’t think the quality would be there for me. A gin and tonic or Jack & Coke or something would be just fine. But those are simple to make. But I can’t do a margarita pre- mix. I used to drink those, but once I was introduced to freshly squeezed limes/lemons and homemade simple syrup to make your own mix, I could never go back to the bottled premix. Salud
Who won and I got the bev the reason I did was because it has the 5 liquors as to the bartesian only has the 4 and have to be swap out that was a deal breaker for me
My opinion on why you are tasting it stronger from the Bev is from I could see the Bartesian kind of poured everything out at once where the Bev seemed to have separate stages while the drink was being dispensed and it did not look as well mixed than the other. Maybe the alcohol was on top?

The Bev taste stronger because the Bartesian has been melting on the counter for 5 minutes.
Not quite lol drank them both within 30 seconds of each other we already answered why it tasted stronger
Angel: I just purchased the B&D Bev machine and I love it. Was wondering tho, is it supposed to pull water into each cocktail?
Likely the mixes are intentionally concentrated enough so the water can flush the lines without messing up your drinks.
Does the BEV come with their own PODS? Or is their 2nd party POD makers for the BEV or both?
BEV uses Bartesian pods

they use the same drink capsules
Great comparison. Thank you
I appreciate the comparison and reviews!
Salud
I am say the same. Fresh is best, but I have to say the passion fruit and mango margarita is really good.
Great review, thank you
Thank you for watching

You should have mixed the drinks, man. Otherwise great review.
It put water in the drink??? I don’t know about that.
They both do as the drink mix pods are concentrated. 😊
