Look at how far the Chipmunks have come. They’ve gone from concerts, to high school, to being stranded on an island, to a road trip. Yeah, this franchise has ran out of steam a little bit. But, at least this one had a few Disney Channel celebrities I recognized, and had a few good jokes. And strangely enough, this movie released the exact same weekend as Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Even though everyone else wanted to go see The Force Awakens in theaters more, this movie was at least a good enough goodbye for the Chipmunks movie franchise.
Did anyone else notice that the girl that was babysitting Alvin, Simon, and Theodore at the hotel was Ally from the Disney Channel series Austin and Ally
I honestly like the story between Dave and Samantha, it feels like something we’ve been missing since the 1st movie, also another thing someone pointed out about the first 3 movies was they were competing against the Transformers movies that came out the same year they were released. Except this time around they competed against The Force Awakens. EDIT: This is the second movie where they mentioned Diddy, which is crazy lol 😂
My favorite parts are the Iko iko montage and the Uptown Funk moment. Happy sunday, Tim, and thanks. Take care and God bless you. Greetings from Colombia to you as well
Fun Fact: after this movie under performed at the box-office after going up against "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" 20th Century Fox wanted to put an end to this series and commissioned Blue Sky Studios to produce an animated movie adaptation of the Chipmunks franchise, but was sadly cancelled after the studio was shut down by Disney.
@gamegeek812 I know right, obviously if Disney never would've bought 20th Century Fox from the very beginning, Blue Sky Studios would still be making movies to this day.
@@gamegeek812 it was shown on Wikipedia at the very end of the page, plus there was a short 30 second animation promotion for the animated Chipmunks movie, but it ended up in production hell for a few years until it ended up getting cancelled after Disney shut down Blue Sky.
Honestly I love all the Alvin and chipmunks movies. I made my top 4 favorites. 1. Alvin and the chipmunks Chipwrecked 2. Alvin and the chipmunks The road chip 3. Alvin and the chipmunks The Squeakquel 4. Alvin and the chipmunks
Apart from the first film, I feel like this is the closest they got to capturing the spirit of the cartoon. This is the kind of plot the show would do. I know that's a hot take.
If you’re enjoying the chipmunk movies Tim, I highly recommend reacting to The Chipmunk Adventure, one of my childhood faves and very underrated from the 80s. Definitely worth watching if you can find it
I'll admit I got scared the first time I watched this when Theordore jumped in the way and protected Mile's from being harmed. I'll admit I do wish we had gotten a little bit backstory on their parents. And they seen them again. Alvin and Simon and Theordore's parents that would have been good. But I do like the ending it's sweet.
This movie was pretty ehh compared to the first 3 movies.. Ashley is played by Bella Thorne, that other girl was Ally (Laura Marano) from Austin and Ally. Miles was mean to the chipmunks, until he explained why he was feeling that way towards them 😢 and that ring wasn’t for Samantha, it was for Dave’s friend Barry who was going to propose to his girlfriend 😲 plus, David Cross doesn’t return for this movie as Ian, which means the air marshal is the new villain for this movie, lol. And Kaley Cuoco from The Big Big Theory is the new voice of Eleanor since Amy Poehler didn’t return to voice her in this film. The Chipettes had a rather minor role here. Nice reaction so far! Maybe you can check out more chipmunk stuff like their animated movies/shows from the 80’s/90’s, like The Chipmunk Adventure, Meet Frankenstein and Meet The Wolfman. And Dave adopting the Chipmunks at the end was so cute. ❤️
Hey there, now this movie is…okay. I don’t like it as much as Chipwrecked or the first movie, but it’s still pretty fun and alright. Although for me, I don’t think this was a good last outing. And what I mean by that is that I think the last outing should’ve been a continuation of Chipwrecked where we develop a lot more of the Chipmunks and Chipettes relationship s with one another. A story where Alvin gets a lot more development. My head cannon for Alvin and something I think the cartoons mention too is that Alvin is a very emotional character who hides his pain with humor. Like Spider-Man for example. That’s why he’s always been my favorite out of the gang because he’s a lot like me. I imagined the last outing being something like a mix between Home Alone 2 and An American Tail where there’s more of a variety of talking animals and the plot line is one where Alvin feels as if he’s run out of purpose of love from his family, and runs away intentionally to New York to try to regain his title and reunite with his old rodent pals who came from the south to Central Park. He thinks that by doing this, he will feel truly loved and appreciated again. The Chipmunks and Dave go on a mission to find Alvin, and by the end, they all come to a realization of how empty it is without Alvin’s presence, and remember the joy and memories he had brought into their lives. And the Chipettes also learn about the Chipmunks’ backstory and how Alvin was more of a complex and vulnerable character in his earlier youth. I do want James Suggs still as the villain as I do think he would also fit for this plot line too. Man, this was a lot more than I expected to write, but this section is for the Chipmunk fans who love to hear about these types of concepts and stories. If anyone’s got their thoughts, feel free to let me know. See you then! Love the reaction Tim. Thank you for watching these movies. Tell Clariss to watch them on her channel!

Soothing and upbeat movie Dave is now a legal dad and the Chipmunks are legal children.
Did anyone else notice that the girl that was babysitting Alvin, Simon, and Theodore at the hotel was Ally from the Disney Channel series Austin and Ally

OMG I never knew this! I always wanted a new animated film. What a shame!

35:19 Here's Suggsy
One of the best movies from this franchise
Cool Reaction. I wish the Chipettes were in the movie more.
3:55 Miles is kinda mean

One of my favorite movies Alvin and the Chipmunks is the best
I do like the chipmunks cover of “Uptown Funk”.
Fun fact: the actor who played Suggs also voiced Forky in Toy Story 4 and Fear in Inside Out 2.
I'll admit I got scared the first time I watched this when Theordore jumped in the way and protected Mile's from being harmed.

Thank you for finally watching the alvin and the chipmunks. My next recommendation is, Stuart Little. No one has reacted to 2 or 3 btw.👍
