Great video and ya disease sucks. Not too bad for me this year so far that is in West Central MB. All of my fur is going to FHA as their first auction is in March.
You can make your own snares, it should say that right on your snaring permit. You just need to use the components they specify. I use both the 3/64 cable AND the Sullivan "S" hooks on mine.
Nothing like slow action and lots of sickly ones when gas prices are through the roof! Seems odd with the cold weather but I'm experiencing the same thing here. I could swear my coyotes are parachuting into the bait LOL! Lots of tracks at the bait but nothing in the bush?? Thanks for filming your check in the very cold temps Sasky - great video!
Rough luck with those sickly buggers. Good to get them out of circulation though. The fuel price is absolutely crazy. I don't see how a person is supposed to make a go of it. Best wishes my Friend. Take care
Too bad with the mange. I read this regarding mange in coyotes: "It is suggested that the mites are usually present in the population from year to year, with outbreaks of clinical disease occurring when populations are at high density." Maybe the numbers just got way too high a few years ago and it's really showing now.
Looks like you are catching a lot of 'em.......good job. Too bad they have mange, but really, you are helping them out by slowing the spread. Mange is a terrible disease. It's a shame that they have to go to waste, but sadly that's the way it is. I still have last year's catch, but fur prices are low enough that I think I'll get them tanned.
Good stuff. I see your season is starting out how mine did for the last three years. This year much clearer dogs. How's the bait holding out now that its frozen. Really slows the raven's chewing
Unfortunately none of them are worth anything nobody even wants them here in Minnesota a lot of places won’t even take them even if they’re boarded and finished nice.
Great video brother, catching those sick buggers is just part of the program, keep after bud👍👍👍
Nice job Sasky !!!
Keep Moving Forward
Thanks TNT
Good stuff
some nice dogs brother too bad about the ones with mange! Good luck with the rest of the season my friend!

Yeah I’ve made them in the past , just don’t take the time anymore seems like I’m always so busy with other things , next season I’ll make my own
Good job man as usual! Keep cleanin em out. Definitely my bucket list area to go to... have always loved the looks of that country. Stay safe.
Even here in northern sask mange wolfs and coyotes
Mangy buggers! Two or 3 yrs ago we had a lot of mange and lice. 98 coyotes and tossed over 50%. Keep on em bud!
How come you have a blue bird sky and in pei we don't get that and you don't have ànymore snow than us. Good luck

I’m thinking the population was high 3 years ago the winter I started trapping that spot
