As a child of the late sixties and seventies this brings a beautiful sense of joy, exuberance, summer memory of the warm, sandy beaches of Rhode Island , and an American Songbook of rootsiness that has been missing for far too long. Wow. I was absolutely floored by this song as I haven’t been in a while hearing a new release. Upbeat but not naïve, optimistic and sunny, a touch psychedelic … it brought me to what 1969 must be have been like in a happier alternative dimension. There’s a lot of Mamas and the Papas in this sound, some George Harrison in the veins of “Here Comes The Sun” or “My Sweet Lord” … there’s even a little Doors. After hearing it the first time, I immediately wanted to hear it again.
Please keep up the fantastic work.
Yeah, for me the psychedelic sound is all that reverb that’s on everything. It reminds me of pet sounds
@@bfink1984 I’m not an audio technician myself: is what you’re saying meant to be a good or bad thing?
As a novice in the technical stuff, I have to simply judge based on the technique’s effect on me. For me, it worked.
@@mattzed11 I think it is a good thing. Reverb is just another name for that echo effect (mostly on the vocals), and I like the feeling it gives as well. But, it reminds me of records like The Beach Boys 1966 album Pet Sounds.

I recently heard this song at work and had to shazam it :) My first thought was, great 60's vibe, and this video confirms it :) That chorus reminded me of Up Around The Bend by CCR. Going to check out more of this band :)

I heard Up Around the Bend, too! 😁 My dad LOVED (that’s almost an understatement) CCR, and played their albums incessantly when I was growing up.

This song is terrific and they’re best so far. It found its way to me. It deserves to be a big hit. Here’s hoping it gets marketed correctly should have been the lead single and heavily pushed. The retro vibes are literal perfection. Such a mood such a vibe.

No kidding, I just walked into a Food Lion in rural North Carolina and the store was playing "Happiness" for the shoppers. So nice to see this awesome group getting the exposure they deserve. One day, I'll be able to look back and say "Yeah, I was a Heavy fan, back before they REALLY took off" 🙂

Underlying the great harmonies is a backseat that sounds simple but watching the drummer up close, is more complicated a rhythm than it appears but enhances the music. Love these guys!
