I don’t mind them really, it’s what’s on the trailer and how it’s been done is more important to me, anyone can polish the shiny bit 🤟 Thank you for subscribing
I like the fact there is no drama or clickbait with your videos. I also like picking up hints and tips on securing plant, especially the locking bar tip that i always do now
Thank you, I make films that I would like to watch and that are a honest reflection of our job, if they’re good enough there is no need for drama or click bait I enjoy responding to the comments but more importantly, I’m made up if a colleague, like yourself, has found a film useful
Thanks for posting, totally agree about the cab polishers, and they spend their own money on their boss’s lorry because it’s a Scania! The boy racers of the lorry driving world.
I don’t mind it really, I’d just like them to enjoy the job not just the image We actually have some excellent young drivers in the Plant Yard, I just try to encourage the importance of the muddy bit on the back 😉
Its nice to see someone taking pride in doing things right. There's too many in this industry that seem to take regulations as some sort of personal insult. Daily checks being a prime example. You've mentioned in a previous video how you used to be able to use far fewer chains on some loads, but the regs changed and you still do it properly and use the right tools in the right way, because that's how to do the job properly.
We had one, it was a great trailer but too slow and impractical for modern building sites, it’s very rare to find enough space to come off the side too and you’ve got to remain STGO so you can’t collect small plant on the way home so trailers like mine are the modern compromise 🤟
@@Stillgotallmyfingers always thought a machine looked more comfortable on them Alex plus still think the Scania looks better with full aero Kik like the blackledge Scania keep up the good work mate
Thank you, I like the proper Low-Loader trailers too, if you get to see last week’s Trucking Heavy they can still be a pain I didn’t think I’d like mine without the ADK but it’s really grown on me but I hear what you’ve saying 🤟
Totally agree with all you said in your video Alex, I'm a retired lorry drive with 43 years experience, like yourself i was not one for stickers and air horns and as you said in your previos video the screen is for looking out with no distractions. Also its nice to see that thers still some drivers left out there doing there job properly and in a polite happy manner.
Hi Alex, I drive the Volvo low loader for Diggers. Never really watched your videos but that intro was spot on mate, about the ordinary folk and what not, will deffo keep tuned in. Also the locking pin on the dumper is good to see, not a whole lot of drivers do that, great stuff mate keep at it 👍🏻
@@Stillgotallmyfingers the reason I don’t watch these vlogs other drivers do is because of the aforementioned ‘oh god, what will I do’ etc, just get the job done, we’ve all done it long enough, also loved thw fact you name dropped Tim! Can’t stand the fella. I am weak to a bit of polish me sen but definitely agree about the theatrics and click bait, solid stuff mate, hope to see you out there 👍🏻
@@RogalShaun Absolutely nothing wrong in taking care and pride in your work & equipment but we both know this job takes more than a polishing cloth As for our Social Media ‘Stars’ well, I’ll still be doing the job I love when they’ve all gone, so it’s up to them… Thanks for getting in touch, it’s appreciated 🤙
Mate you wanna see the effort and time they put into polishing here in NZ , so much so i had one fella tell me he could'nt tip were i wanted it , cause he'd just polised his wheel ,s needless to say that got a good Manchester reaction ending in off . Great vid as always mate 😊
The term " yoke " is also used up in certain parts of Scotland to describe a powerful or big vehicle. The other term I haven't heard of being used before though. Quite a few owner drivers and others like to customise their truck in some way to make it stand out from all the rest. But it's their choice and their money at the end of the day and some are very well done. Some of the air brush art work can look stunning and amazing with all the work and detail that has gone into it Another top class video this week.
I absolutely agree, we even have two company vehicles that are customised and look hugely impressive My point is that there is far more to the Industry than looking good at a Truck Show I’m more impressed with the driver who can keep his or her head reversing down a backstreet in Rochdale than the one being a middle lane hero past Tebay 🤟 Thank you for comment, it’s greatly appreciated 🙏
There;s not many people like you around anymore, your calm and get on with your work, but as you say listen to your body, sometimes you need to stop. Keep the videos coming no need for drama. Have you seen Merv Francis ,worth a look !

@Stillgotallmyfingers this was hi alex yea we never was into anything other then jcbs. We worked alongside crh when we went up saltash exeter earea ...he married my aunty and we bought our first one.. thats where we gained our knowledge yea I agree mate. 100 percent all I'm saying is we had gained our knowledge of the bloke who worked for the company this would have been almost like 1990 maybe Alex. Hi Alex @Stillgotallmyfingers , a quick question. You've got 7 axles, do you need a movement note for all your overweighed haulage (over 44T) and "2 clear days notice with indemnity to Road and Bridge Authorities"? Does that apply to your work?
Absolutely, if the move is within the scope of STGO a Movement Order is required, Lancashire will accept 48 hours notice but each individual authority is different It’s a tricky job for our Plant Managers to meet our customers requirements and remain within the scope of the Law The design of my truck and trailer combination will allow me to operate up to 100 tonnes GVW although in practice we remain under 80 tonnes The advantage of the design is that I can still move smaller plant legally, some combinations must remain in STGO and cannot move smaller machinery I hope this helps, thank you for your question 🤟
Quite like the video but have you got any music that’s a bit more cheerful. Your music is a bit sad if I’m honest but I do love watching all the big machines and trucks. All the best with the vids
Thank you, I try to choose music that matches my mood at that time of the week, I prefer thoughtful rather than sad but there’s some upbeat tunes too 😉 I’m glad you like my films, thank you 🙏
I hear what you’re saying I was spotting for the Op on the 3CX and the other driver actually resumed what he was doing when he decided it was safe to do so, he had moved away from the work area when we started to load If I thought that there was any risk, I would of stopped the load and ask the other driver to move but we really were just fine tuning the siting of the machine I appreciate your comment and I’m more than happy to hear if somebody thinks I might of done something wrong, thank you 🙏

I’m sorry but I’m not, from what I’ve seen of the Trucker Tim style of RUclips I wouldn’t like to be associated with anything like that but I hold no personal animosity towards him It’s worth remembering that any interaction online about Trucker Tim (especially RUclips) increases his profile, even a short message like this will positively affect his channel’s algorithm

I’m really sorry Sammy but there’s no way I can discuss our pricing structure, I would be fired on the spot I’ve talked to friends and acquaintances who run their own Low Loaders about the rates for moving third party plant many times… The answer is always the same, the rates are awful considering the wear and tear on your equipment, especially your (incredibly expensive) trailer It’s not impossible to establish yourself but your going to need pretty deep pockets and a lot of contacts in the Industry I wish you all the best it’s a hugely rewarding journey 🤟
