Which is an interesting little tie-in to older Godzilla movies, specifically Mecha-Ghidorah and a version of Mecha Godzilla ("Kiryu") that was constructed around the skeleton of the first Godzilla in that timeline (who died). That MechaG even broke free of its human controls because the genetic memory/spirit of the original Godzilla in the bones took over when instincts kicked in (like when confronted with its son, the new and active Godzilla).
I heard some studies say that the human brain is still active for a few minutes after death as long as it’s intact. If that’s true, then who knows how long Ghidorah’s head can still go for, especially if it can heal itself like in KOTM.
As a Godzilla fan, this movie was so good. It was the final Godzilla movie I watched with my grandpa before he passed away. It will always be special to me.
As someone who grew up watching the original Godzilla movies because her brother/dad adored them, I loved seeing this updated take on the OG stories. It's funny since, as a kid, I initially thought the original movies were stupid since they were these cheesy, low-budget monster movies. But after watching them through my brother/dad over and over again, there was something about how charming and exciting they still were and they just pulled me right into the Monsterverse as a fangirl.
From what I remember the director did either an interview or had some commentary about the movie where he suggested Mechagodzilla is actually weaker than Godzilla. Mechagodzilla was able to easily best him because Godzilla was exhausted between using tons of power to drill to the Hollow Earth and his subsequent fight with Kong. I've also heard speculation of possible future major Godzilla villains roughly equal to or surpassing even Ghidorah such as Spacegodzilla and Destoroyah being brought over which would be cool.
And, IIRC, in the novelization of the movie, Ren Serizawa's body is gone from the control center when it's investigated, so at the very least, he's still alive, or worse, he could be possessed by Ghidorah now too (or at least have Ghidorah's consciousness inside his head, like a second voice). I'd honestly hope for more original stuff rather than just bringing over existing Toho monsters all the time (like how King of the Monsters had numerous original Titans that were more prominent in books in-between it and GvK). Destoroyah wouldn't have the same iconography as he did originally (being a "full circle" monster for Godzilla at the time), and SpaceGodzilla would require a prior movie(s) to set up given Godzilla's cells would need to end up in space somehow and take time to mutate into SpaceGodzilla, or it would have to be a completely "original" species. It would be cool if they finally used a monster like Bagan though and have Godzilla become Super Godzilla, lol.
@@HalfDemonInuyasha Honestly with their reaction about how humans are constantly fucking up I'd like to see Destoroyah brought over considering the event that creates it has essentially happened, if only for their reaction.

@Ronnie Patterson Got my info from KDM. They're hella accurate, but if you're not sure you can ask them. Edit: It's like when Quantumania had those symbols as its title during production. That's what "Godzilla and Kong" is.
They did an incredible amount of world-building that I wasn't expecting in this movie. Love the Hollow Earth idea, in spite of how fantastical it is. Loved your review. Keep 'em coming! \m/
Yep, in the trailer you got a brief glimpse of something mechanical and a lot of the fans instantly recognized it was going to be Mechagodzilla. That's kind of revealing Godzilla and Kong would probably team-up
Kong popping his shoulder back into place à la Martin Riggs in Lethal Weapon? Classic. Love your channel guys. It always puts me in a happier mood to watch your reactions. Keep up the great work!
The reason i adore this movie out of all Monsterverse movies is that is has a lot of references to the original Kong vs Godzilla japanese movie. Besides, i loved the "villain-ish" character of Godzilla. P. S. To me, this version of M Godzilla is the scariest.
One great thing about this movie is that Godzilla and Kong were so tired during and after their fight in Hong Kong. Both of them dug deep for that last fight with Meccagodzilla. Also while Kong got love flighted and rested, then reaching hallow earth. Zilla went all over the pacific looking for him until it homed in on mecagodzillas location. He was pure adrenaline
It's neither, at least if the trailer is anything to go off of, it's a new character all together which probably means it's gonna mainly be a Kong movie and Godzilla is just there for the sake of marketing purposes (not that I'm complaining but Kong definitely seems to be the focus of these movies)
It’s been stated that because of the movie’s success Toho(owners of Godzilla) have extended the license with legendary and now their allowed to use any Toho monster as long as they pay an additional fee. So we could be getting more classics monsters in the future like gigan, space Godzilla, or even destroyah
I'm pretty sure they said in an article or interview that they wanted more Toho movies for cameos in KOTM but Toho would charge the same amount regardless of screentime although they did get one cameo and that was Angurius skeleton that was shown for a few frames when they revived Godzilla
@@geraldthegoose1685 yep. Even Adam windgard said he wanted to have more monsters in GvK but couldn’t since paying for one Toho monsters is super expensive. Seriously hope we do see anguirus tho
@@Nightlizard1564 If they could afford Ghidorah, Mothra & Rodan for 1 movie, I'm sure they can afford just 1 monster per movie. A lot of classics that deserve the big screen treatment like Biollante who'd give a dark horror tone.
A bit of a reminder, Mechagodzilla did not take control of his own, but was posessed by the ghost of Ghidorah. The energy source couldn’t physically revive him, but spiritually it managed to.
Kong never surrendered, when he roared back at Godzilla. He dared Godzilla to kill him. Basically just telling him to get it over with, cause I’m not submitting.
The director stated that had Godzilla been at full power, he would have won against Mechagodzilla but it would been by the skin of his teeth. As it was he was exhausted and barely held his own.
It made sense that godzilla was losing to mechaG. He was tired and went from all glowy and juiced up to lost the glow and a fainter atomic breath. The director confirmed that he could've won if he wasnt tired. Just for those who dont know. Goji sensed ghidorahs presence on the earth so he went beserk before it came back. And the ghidorah skull (kevin, the funny one) took over the mechaG and wanted to kill goji for revenge.
Godzilla is 100% gonna win and stronger, that's not even a debate lol. One thing you guys forgot is that Godzilla was fighting Mecha with no rest and him constantly fighting and on the run so he was weaker or nerfed.
I'm pretty sure it was even conformed the only reason he lost the "beam clash" with mecha was because he used around half of his power to blast down to hollow earth
@@kingrichard8188 now I wouldn't say all that. Godzilla while reliant on his breath is pretty strong with brute force as seen in all of the legendary movies. Some examples would be when he wrestles Ghidorah and that time in Boston where their clash caused a boom
Fun Fact: This is not the last we will see of King Ghidorah, because there is a Mechanical version of himself too. He's basically been in 80% of Godzilla's films, and is basically his Joker.
Nah, he’s in like 4 Showa films, one Heisei and technically only one millenium film with monster x possibly counting as a second, and there’s nearly 40 films at this point lmao
@@kaijureaper8454 There’d have to be, even in the old cannon there were multiple different Ghidorahs. Two in the showa era, three in Heisei and two in the millenium era. I’m counting grand ghidorah and desghidorah in the Heisei series because of the Mothra films and when they came out
For the next movie I really wanna see Legendary take on Gigan, my favourite laser chainsaw chicken... I'm reckoning we'll get Mothra reborn as well, and hopefully the last of the original guardian gang, Anguirus. Maybe Rodan could make a return on the good guy side since he recognised Godzilla as king in the last movie. Could be cool to have Anguirus be a hollow earth denizen roped into fighting alongside Gigan, then at the end sees he's being controlled by Gigan and turn on him.
I really liked this movie… and I’ve watched Godzilla King of Monsters probably ten times. I don’t even know why I liked it so much but I thought I was alone and goofy until I saw your review 😆
Godzilla KOTM has great visual and colors, epic soundtrack. problem is the human act unbelievable and shitty character. this movie fixed all of that but WB ruined it by putting 2 hours mandate which make legendary to reshoots and make it shorter. they also didn't bring previous composer to do new theme which is why this movie is lacking great soundtrack
TEAM GODZILLA!! :D This brought back alot of memories as a kid and watching the old Tohei Kong v Godzilla :) I actually was getting emotional in the theatre watch Big G getting beat down by MechaGodzilla 🥺😢😭😭😭😭
To be more precice about Mechagodzilla. It didn’t have an AI of itself controlling it, it was the Skull of King Ghidorah that managed to take control of it. The humans used his skull to pilot Mecha G, and like the conspirecy dude said, Ghidorah’s heads comunicated telapathicly. But unbenounced to anyone the brain in the skull was still alive, so when getting the power source needed to become fully operational it took over
I did feel bad for Kong in this movie. Worst day ever indeed. But after losing Mothra in the last Titan uprising, I think Godzilla just isn't willing to put up with any hint of disrespect. I really want to see Mothra back if they do another movie.
I don't know if you guys care to much but there are a few older Godzilla movies that I enjoyed a lot. My favorite one is Godzilla Final Wars. Essentially Godzilla fights a bunch of other monsters being controlled by aliens but there's lot of human fight scenes and one that takes place on street bikes on an empty highway which is simply badass.
You guys should watch the classic godzilla movies if you get a chance. They aren't as epic since they are older but they are entertaining and Godzilla has some funny moves since it's a guy in a suit. The later ones have a lot more action as well when he fights multiple enemies at once.
Lifelong Godzilla fan, from back in the rubber suit guy crushing model tanks days. Great watching y’all’s reaction. I absolutely lost my shit at the epicness of the battles compared to the original movies. I highly highly recommend “Pacific Rim”, set in another universe but it’s the most badass kaiju vs giant mecha movie.
So for information missing between the gaps of the movies there where comics released during King of monsters up to this movie Godzilla had been doing his kingly duties and traveling the world keeping kaiju in check and eliminating the unruly. On the kong side he fought a giant bat kaiju called Camazotz that generated dark storm clouds to protect itself from light being bat based this cloud generation mixed with the residual storms created by Gidorah and caused an endles storm that destroyed skull island well more made it unsuitable for life thats why its strats with a massive storm on the island. The rock kongs in the hollow earth aren’t fossil there carved statues and the axe was made from the bone of a Kaiju possibly a MUTO and a dorsal plate of strapped to the bone with hide of a slayed Godzilla killed by the Kongs cause its extremely hard and can channel the natural atomic energy of the mineral in hollow earth and the natural organic one Godzilla produces which seem to be the same. Mecha godzilla has different origins original is that it was an alien weapon where aliens dooped the people of Earth with by covering it in a fake Godzilla suit lije a Godzilla terminator T1000 to turn people against Godzilla. The Hiesei era MechaGodzilla was made from recovered technology from the remains of mecha king Gidorah brought political enemies of Japan from the furture who came to eliminate Godzilla and eliminate Japan again pretending to be good guys. The Millennium era one my favorite was made by recovering the skeleton of the original 1950’s Godzilla and making a cyborg out of them but it had the flaw of going berserk out of control due to the spirit of the OG Godzilla taking over the mech. If you want more Godzilla things Shin Godzilla is an interesting and good modern remake of the original
Fun fact: Skull Island takes place in 1973. At that time, Kong was like about Juvenile, he was smaller than he is in 2021. Also, it was confirmed that Kong didn't really stand a chance against Godzilla(with our without his axe), Godzilla in Hong Kong was just toying with Kong but he went serious when Kong gave him a smack with the axe. Godzilla was also worn out after the Hong Kong fight, that's why he almost got killed by Mechagodzilla. Godzilla doesn't care about killing a human or more because he does it to keep the balance. Also, Kong's species used to live in the Hollow Earth but were forced out by Godzilla's species from the ancient Titan War. You guys should read the comics and novels to extend your info on the Godzilla & Kong universe. Also make sure to keep a look out on the next Godzilla & Kong installment, it should come out somewhere in 2024.
Godzilla vs Kong was heavily cut and reshot from it's original cut. Godzilla's side of the story suffered as a result. Also before it's release toys were leaked that showed both Kong and Godzilla had body armor and weapons that attach to their bodies. The Monsterverse is continuing with a series on Apple TV later this year. It's about Monarch's study of Godzilla after the 2014 film. Next year a sequel movie , Godzilla and Kong: Origins will be in theaters.
Mechagodzilla is one of Godzilla's deadlest and recurring enemies Godzilla always had trouble when fighting Mechagodzilla so I'm glad they kept that character triat. Because every version of Godzilla always needing help or a power up when fighting Mechagodzilla.
It applies vice versa as well. Mechagodzilla also needed a power up or help when fighting Godzilla. He teamed up with Titanosaurus to fight Godzilla in 1975. Kiryu had to team up with the Mothra larvaes to take down Godzilla in 2003, and Heisei Mechagodzilla had to fuse with Garuda to become Super-Mechagodzilla when he was fighting Heisei-Godzilla.
KOTM is still the best for me. This one's great, but feels more like a few fight scenes and very little actual story/movie/plot. I do have to chuckle a bit that the entire Madison subplot could have been entirely removed, and outside of them spilling the alcohol on the computer board, did not affect the movie in any way whatsoever.
original runtime of this movie is 2 and 30 minutes but WB being dick, they demand 2 hours movie which causing director doing reshoots and cut 30 minutes from this movie. this is why this movie got delayed to 2020 but COVID forced them delayed again to 2021. that asian dude who wore VR headset is reshoots, it's supposed to be Eiza Gonzalez (latina villain actress) to control mechagodzilla. she's not die on hollow earth in original script. it is said after Godzilla blasting hollow earth, he go down there and fight Kong. that's why you can see it's weird that Kong go to surface just to fight Godzilla, how he does that? Godzilla KOTM doesn't have this issues. i agree with you that movie is more epic with great soundtrack but I dislike human characters in that movie, its felt like B-movie character
And when Godzilla and mechagodzilla have the beam clash the only reason why Godzilla lost that is because, Godzilla used most of his energy/power making the hole to hallow earth. That why not all his plates or blue
11:03 The ship's radar would detect him. Godzilla is not exactly small enough to hide from radar. 44:31 That's Kong saying "fine you're the boss but, I'm giving you this." He was not going to bow to Godzilla but, Godzilla was willing to let it slide because he did save his life. When Jia tells Kong "Godzilla. Not. Enemy." makes me cry, anyone ells?
100% Team Kong always, he just has more humanity to him and doesn’t destroy shit for the sake of it. I love Godzilla too, but, Kong is truly the humans ally. Not sure if you noticed, but Kong’s axe, was made from a spine fin from Godzilla, which is why it can be powered up.
if that girl died, he ain't human friend anymore. this is why if you know the lore of Godzilla, mothra is the only one that siding with human. in old Godzilla movie, mothra did fight against Godzilla just to protect human from casualties. Godzilla basically anti hero except in 1 movie
It’s explained in the novelization of the movie that Kong’s species actually was enslaving other titans and eventually Godzilla himself wiped out the majority of them and banished the last few to skull island
Godzilla is the King of the monsters. There's just no changing that. But that also shows how devastating MechaG was, where he needs Kong's help. Seems humans can make monsters just as, if not more, powerful than the real thing
The director himself went on record stating that Godzilla was exhausted from drilling irl hollow earth and fight kong all night, and had he been fully rested that the fight would’ve gone differently
@@AgntFL Not even he knows how it would change specifically. But it was suggested that the beam clash could've gone to Godzilla and then the tides turn.
🦎Btw this was confirmed by the director himself 💯that Godzilla was toying with kong the entire time and when kong hit Godzilla with axe blow to the head Godzilla ego was hurt and Godzilla ended the fight immediately This fight was not even fair to begin with
Actually not, the director denied that argument in interview to IGN, Wingard said that Godzilla started taking the fight seriously when he saw the axe, the novel said that Godzilla intended to cut Kong in half with the atomic breath and the concept art book said that Godzilla saw Kong like a risk to his rule.
The director of the movie said Godzilla was playing around with kong the entire movie until the axe explosion knocked him out so kong honestly stood no chance at all
He also said not to take that seriously. It was just his fun thoughts on the commentary. We see in the movie they both actually try to kill each other constantly. Hell, even the Axe hit would've done the job if it didn't overcharge.
@God of drip He already did. There was bias since the beginning. But he didn't just make Kong fans mad, he made everyone upset because his commentary went against the movie and downplayed the fights.
@@kiyoshi3313 He also said the atomic breath drains Godzilla so for the about of times he used it in the fights with kong added up plus the super charged one that blasted into the hollow earth from the surface means kong was literally fighting a significantly weakened Godzilla and still got folded regardless
@@kiyoshi3313 plot was on kongs side as kong used a pice of a building as a shield right after we clearly see the atomic breath cut through buildings like butter, and how humans were helping him pretty much the entire movie. Godzilla Got hit with a nuke and survived lol in king of the monsters he technically got nuked 2 in the same movie, 1 by the oxygen destroyer and the other by a actual nuke. kong got shot with bullets and got hurt. It’s a easy stomp I mean come on Godzilla got dropped from the stratosphere and survived the only reason he was going to die is because ghidorah came back down to finish the job not because of the fall.
Just like the creatures in the previous film, Mechagodzilla is also property of Toho. All four of these films are accompanied by prequel comics that expand the story. This is a modern remake of the 1962 Toho film King Kong vs Godzilla
I really enjoyed this movie. It was just a fun entertaining watch, and even the humans weren't just dull, it was a great watch. Thanks for the react! Also I think you may have said it, but notice they always call him Kong, not King Kong. He's only King if he becomes Alpha over Godzilla.
I think it's more of a mutual respect. Kong didn't want any smoke from Godzilla so he just placed the axe down. Godzilla acknowledged this and left him at peace.
Lmao not you trying to add things "that he was weaker and saw him as superior". That's false.. Kong was literally ready to die rather than surrender.. So no Kong doesn't see godzilla as his superior. It's more of a mutual respect thing between them... Both respect eachother.. The only reason Kong dropped the axe was because the little girl had already spoken to Kong and Kong aswell didn't see the need to fight again.
@@jackson-pl5zg Kong would have still fought Godzilla if he had to again.. the reason he dropped the axe was because he had no reason to fight Godzilla again and the little girl had already spoken to him to help Godzilla...
Always been a fan of Godzilla movies ever since I was a kid, just found this reaction but after hearing how you guys have done the other Godzillas I will definitely check them all out! They did a good job bringing human connection to Kong, it was quite sad seeing Kong and Godzilla fight though ngl... Glad they got Mecha in the end!
FINALLY 🤍....we all know godzilla won if they didn't use that hover craft as a defibrillator for kong he would've died. When godzilla was stepping on kong, he finally make kong submit to his authority. But after they defeat mechaG and kong stands up and grabs the axe he looks liked he wants to cry, if they can talk kong might say "c'mon bro! Im tired! You scratch the living shit out of me, and broke my left shoulder!" 🤣......remember when kong shove his axe to godzilla's mouth to stop his atomic breath, that was a call back to when they fight back in the original and back then kong manage to kill godzilla by shoving down a whole ass tree down in godzilla's throat 🤣🤣🤣
I think I read somewhere that Toho had certain rules for Godzilla in this. He is a force of nature so he can not show emotions on his face, be afraid or submit. I guess he's just always in the very confident "I'm the man" mode. Which is why they went the complete opposite for Kong and made him express everything in emotions.
Actually when Mechagodzilla became sentient it was actually ghidorah coming back controlling mechagodzilla, that’s why he tries to kill Godzilla by breathing down his throat the same way Godzilla killed him
Bit of a correction here: kong didn't bow during the Hong Kong fight but when godzilla roared at him telling him to he just said to kill him because he would never submit godzilla seeing this got a respect for kong (hence the nod he did) and left him be

@@HalfDemonInuyasha Honestly with their reaction about how humans are constantly fucking up I'd like to see Destoroyah brought over considering the event that creates it has essentially happened, if only for their reaction.
@@HalfDemonInuyasha hopefully not just a voice, but also Ren will 'manifest' certain 'Kevin' abilities= The human robotic genius creates a 'body' for Kevin's 'brothers' and together they pay a visit to Col. Jonah's crew of eco terrorists to reclaim some 'materials'.

Godzilla cs destroyah will be the best fight of all kaijus I will say godzilla wins buh he will only secure the win if he goes to his strongest form n that’s what he didn against destoryah before and ghidorah if Godzilla can reach a radiation level like never before n up max is charge n turn into burning Godzilla he beats destoryah with ez as it’s weakness is high temperatures
This movie in theaters must’ve been a whole ass experience! I personally saw it at home lol
Godzilla vs Kong 2 is supposedly coming out next year! Definitely looking forward to it
Its actually called Godzilla & Kong, not Godzilla vs Kong 2 : )
@@ronniepatterson2827 Sounds awesome actually.
@Ronnie Patterson It's not called that either, it's a placeholder.
You sure? I saw pics of the film crew wearing caps with that logo on them. I also read they were gonna call it Godzilla & Kong Origins, but decided to keep it just Godzilla & Kong.@@kiyoshi3313
@Ronnie Patterson Got my info from KDM. They're hella accurate, but if you're not sure you can ask them.
Edit: It's like when Quantumania had those symbols as its title during production. That's what "Godzilla and Kong" is.
Monsterverse is pretty great, glad you guys are enjoying it :)
Something you guys may not have noticed before, the axe that kong uses is actually a back spike from a zilla. That’s why it glows like big G
32:37 props to the camera man hanging on the back of kong for that cool shot.
We saw this in IMAX and had an absolute blast.
The best part is that in 2024 we're getting the 5th Monsterverse movie!!!!😱
Praying for either Destroyah or Biollante 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Biollante and Spacegodzilla fusion i think
New monster I hope.
It's neither, at least if the trailer is anything to go off of, it's a new character all together which probably means it's gonna mainly be a Kong movie and Godzilla is just there for the sake of marketing purposes (not that I'm complaining but Kong definitely seems to be the focus of these movies)
I’m going through looking at old comments, who would have predicted Pinkzilla lol
Seeing Godzilla and Kong team up against resurrected King Ghidorah was the most badass shit I've witnessed in the cinema 😂
Yes 👍🏿👍🏿
most perferbaly he was controled by kevin (the left head)
Ghost?! It was his consciousness smh
@@mr.noodles3954It might as well be his ghost.
Don't know how they didn't figure that one out
Kong never surrendered, when he roared back at Godzilla. He dared Godzilla to kill him. Basically just telling him to get it over with, cause I’m not submitting.
Although some may not like "the enemies turned teammates" trope, this is one of showa Godzilla's styles so that was nice to see
I love the small detail when Mechagodzilla is given the power source, you can hear Ghidorah's roar before he takes over completely
That's true he is 100% stronger. without his atomic blast he is -100% stronger
@@kingrichard8188 now I wouldn't say all that. Godzilla while reliant on his breath is pretty strong with brute force as seen in all of the legendary movies. Some examples would be when he wrestles Ghidorah and that time in Boston where their clash caused a boom
Not to mention the mechagodzilla was designed specifically to counter godzilla but couldn't counter King Kong.
@chronicler19 Couldn't counter Kong? Mechagodzilla was about to kill Kong if they didn't pour that whiskey on the computer.
King Ghidorah is likely dead for good can't really make Mecha King Ghidorah without a body. But maybe for Shin King Ghidorah.
@@kaijureaper8454
It does have a cosmic reigning brother tho, which is mentioned in the art book I believe
@Caleb Reynolds I guess if we think about it realistically there could be more
@@kaijureaper8454
There’d have to be, even in the old cannon there were multiple different Ghidorahs.
Love that the axe is made from on of godzillas species.
This brought back alot of memories as a kid and watching the old Tohei Kong v Godzilla :) I actually was getting emotional in the theatre watch Big G getting beat down by MechaGodzilla 🥺😢😭😭😭😭
This movie ended exactly as I thought it would, the two become friends and team up…. I checked my brain at the door and just enjoyed the spectacle 😂
Now this is a Godzilla movie worth watching, two kings collide. You guys should watch King Kong (2005) sometime in the future.
But unbenounced to anyone the brain in the skull was still alive, so when getting the power source needed to become fully operational it took over
Looks like I found myself another favorite RUclipsr
I did feel bad for Kong in this movie. Worst day ever indeed. But after losing Mothra in the last Titan uprising, I think Godzilla just isn't willing to put up with any hint of disrespect. I really want to see Mothra back if they do another movie.
2 months ago, legendary pictures announced upcoming Godzilla movie. it's in pre-production after Toho greenlit it
And they all saw the two titans get along in the middle of their destroyed city and left homeless BUT it was all worth it because friendship!
Loved your guys reaction ❤
Also yes, I freaking lost my mind in the theater when I saw MechaGodzilla
You guys should watch the classic godzilla movies if you get a chance. They aren't as epic since they are older but they are entertaining and Godzilla has some funny moves since it's a guy in a suit. The later ones have a lot more action as well when he fights multiple enemies at once.
this is the best monster-verse movie yet... i hope they make more.
These are fun, but I like it better when Godzilla wasn't a monster battle movie. The original and Shin is more my taste.
That axe that Kong has is actually one of Godzilla's Spike if you noticed it carefully that's why it absorb the same energy as Godzilla
Kong did not surrender to Godzilla, he just won't. Godzilla realised this as the end and had a mutual relationship at the end
When the bug in your room spreads it’s wings: 38:13
Team Godzilla forever🔥
The fact that the one basically kicking Godzillas and kongs asses was technically Kevin makes this even funnier to me
So for information missing between the gaps of the movies there where comics released during King of monsters up to this movie Godzilla had been doing his kingly duties and traveling the world keeping kaiju in check and eliminating the unruly.
Fun fact: Mechagodzilla was possesed by Ghidorah's soul, confirmed by the director
I love that Kong took out the Mecha with what was essentially a Mortal Kombat fatality.
"Flat Earth was a psyop for Hollow Earth"
Preach it brother!

Watching this in the cinema nearly made my head explode !!! 🔥
I still remember the first time they fought in Godzilla vs King Kong (1962), a movie I've seen way too many times on VHS.
Team Kong forever..
if that girl died, he ain't human friend anymore. this is why if you know the lore of Godzilla, mothra is the only one that siding with human. in old Godzilla movie, mothra did fight against Godzilla just to protect human from casualties. Godzilla basically anti hero except in 1 movie
Godzilla doesn't destroy for the sake of it, he's a neutral being
It’s explained in the novelization of the movie that Kong’s species actually was enslaving other titans and eventually Godzilla himself wiped out the majority of them and banished the last few to skull island
Godzilla is the King of the monsters. There's just no changing that. But that also shows how devastating MechaG was, where he needs Kong's help. Seems humans can make monsters just as, if not more, powerful than the real thing
Well he was beat up by kong and not at 100%
The director himself went on record stating that Godzilla was exhausted from drilling irl hollow earth and fight kong all night, and had he been fully rested that the fight would’ve gone differently
@@AgntFL Not even he knows how it would change specifically. But it was suggested that the beam clash could've gone to Godzilla and then the tides turn.
You guys are quickly becoming my fave reactors. Keep up the good work.
🦎Btw this was confirmed by the director himself 💯that Godzilla was toying with kong the entire time and when kong hit Godzilla with axe blow to the head Godzilla ego was hurt and Godzilla ended the fight immediately
This fight was not even fair to begin with
Actually not, the director denied that argument in interview to IGN, Wingard said that Godzilla started taking the fight seriously when he saw the axe, the novel said that Godzilla intended to cut Kong in half with the atomic breath and the concept art book said that Godzilla saw Kong like a risk to his rule.
Godzilla is the definitive winner. But he now views Kong as an equal, and worthy to have shared title of alpha titan.
@@kiyoshi3313 he said that because he didn’t want to piss off Kong fans lol
Godzilla was terrifying in this movie.
KONG LIFTED THE AXE 🪓 HE IS WORTHY 💪👏🙌🎉
Godzilla definitely wins and I don’t think he’d share either sides of the planet with anyone. For him, it’s all or nothing.
I went into the theatres not expecting this movie to be good but I am happy to say I've never been more wrong in my life.
last person that messed with Middle Earth was Professor Sauron...we all know what happened next
I love kong but godzilla takes the win everytime lol
fax Godzilla is him
Just like the creatures in the previous film, Mechagodzilla is also property of Toho.
Actually legendary don't have the rights of the name "King Kong"
loved truth seekers, that tease at the end with the boss, i NEED MORE
The reason why Mechagodzilla was going crazy is because king Ghidorah took over the Mech somehow
Imagine if Godzilla and Kong teamed up but against humanity
Humanity is fucked......
Like real bad, that's like Superman and Batman teaming up against the world or Goku amd Vegeta
36:07 Kong didn’t surrender. Godzilla just respected Kong for not bowing down and let him die an honorable death.
yes, Kong surrendered to Godzilla, when he dropped the axe, he admitted that, that he was weaker and that he saw him as superior

Hey guys I'm team Kong the King of hollow Earth 🌍
It was so cool having Kong use a weapon made from one of Godzilla's fins. Being an indicator that their kind has fought before
Unpopular opinion I'm team Kong
There are over 30 Japanese Godzilla films. You really should check them out.
Godzilla x Kong is now my new favorite. Adam Wingard did a great job with this movie and did and even better job with GxK!
This and King Of Monsters were good but this one, with Kong, kicks it ahead
Actually when Mechagodzilla became sentient it was actually ghidorah coming back controlling mechagodzilla, that’s why he tries to kill Godzilla by breathing down his throat the same way Godzilla killed him
Bit of a correction here: kong didn't bow during the Hong Kong fight but when godzilla roared at him telling him to he just said to kill him because he would never submit godzilla seeing this got a respect for kong (hence the nod he did) and left him be
they thought they could use Ghidorah as a power source? All they did. . .was give him a new body.
