    I had to go partly AFK while watching this, but still had the headphones on. That made it way funnier than it should have been. 🤣

    I felt that leatherman bit cause I'm always offering to help cut something though I don't care about the fashion aspect. Also so much lube and tubes. 😂

    An old rocketeer recommended I sand down the liner of a pro75 motor when it didn't fit easily. Glad to see someone else strugglin as well

    Joe, brother, my dude, you had literally half a dozen boxes, filled with maybe a hundred gloves each, and yet you tried to wipe the lube off the gloves you were wearing...
    I mean I can respect you for trying to minimize waste, but you're not getting that stuff off without soap, water, and a whole lot of scrubbing, so any surface you touched after "wiping" off the lube was just going to get covered in a thin layer of it, making it impossible to grip.
    And I mentioned this n the main video but OH MY GOD XYLA, I still can't believe you put your face right down near the straps as you were tightening it and not wearing any sort of eye protection. Those things do break, although I think in this situation slipping off was the more likely situation, and while Joe holding it helps a tiny bit, with as much energy was being stored there, if slips, there's nothing Joe would have been able to do about it.
    Really wasn't trying to be negative; this was funny and I always love bts stuff. Just ya know, be safe about it.

    Is it really hot in your garage? Just wondering if that meant it expanded slightly and meant a tight fit was an extremely tight fit

  • @TheWebstaff
    @TheWebstaff 10 месяцев назад

    Ratchet strap tightening is great but you are pulling on one side only so if it binds it will pull sideways and make a banana rocket motor!
    In fact what a great way to make a supersonic Kathryn wheel.

    Every single individual part of this is amazing, and there's 17 minutes of it.
    It's also nice to see that even engineers and rocket builders' builds are just as chaotic as us normies when they aren't actively filming a video 😅

    This reminds me of an occasion in 1987, when I gained a permanent scar on my right hand from using a lumphammer on a swaying length of boxsteel some idiot (my boss) had shoved onto a piece of scaff set in the ground waiting to be ground down so the box would fit. To remedy this, I had to climb a tallescope on a steeply sloping grass bank. In the rain. And hammer the beast home. Unfortunately, the various elements were as synchronised and predictable as 4yos doing a complicated dance routine.
    Tl;dr: Ouch!

    How warm was it? The motor case and motor expand at different rates. I would of either chilled the motor or warmed the motor case up.

  • @adrianbutler1449
    @adrianbutler1449 10 месяцев назад

    Always test fit before final assembly. The liner is much easier to sand without a coating of grease. I’ll also wager it came out of the case just as difficult.

    Is there any chance that the liner was absorbing the lube and swelling slightly? Early on, it seemed to slip in OK, but when you repositioned to get a better angle it became much harder. Either way, time for a hydraulic press maybe? You could make something pretty easily from a metal frame with a movable jaw and hydraulic piston with attached hand pump (or a hydralic jack I guess). I was worried that you were putting force on one side of the tube.
    I wait in trepidation for the removing of the liner video. It is either going to be impossible, or perhaps easy now that there are no grains left inside.

    I was wondering if there were going to be outtakes on this part of the main vid.
    Something had to have either swollen or shrunk. Having to use ratchet straps just to integrate that piece is insane!
