Well that worked out nicely. Am I the only one cringing with each pull expecting your mike to go swimming after it's brother? Excellent work Micheal thanks for another informative and entertaining video!
I thought about that afterwards, thanks for watching
Just got a Johnson 25hp and about to start reworking it. Never done anything like this so your videos will definitely help!
Great to hear, good luck and thanks for watching
Thanks for always leaving in your faux pas. It's just video proof that I'm not the only one that puts myself on The Struggle Bus at times😂
Always! Thanks for watching
Thanks for posting
Our pleasure!
Steve in Florida I enjoyed your video thank you for making it I had a 1885 Johnson 25 hp when I was young I guess that why I like to see these outboard run
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching
Great running outboards, we had a 1989 25 HP long shaft remote on our boat when we got it. 16" Lund with casting decks , storage and a bow mount trolling motor. It would get up to 22 MPH with 2 adults, We upgraded to a 1990 50 HP Johnson, The boat planes allot faster and tops out at 32 MPH with a 17 Deg. prop. Great era of OMC outboards.
Thanks for sharing the info, very helpful, thanks for watching
Great video. Awesome drone footage.
Cheers
Have the same motor on my s14 lund. Prob seen 100 hours just in the last two years. They are great motors.
Sweet running rig!! It's weird seeing something so new on the channel!
hope it don't ruin my reputation. Thanks for watching
👍👍👍 Another awesome video. Nice running outboard . Helpful tip I just started doing this I take a quick clamp and clamp it where when I pull start the outboard it don’t sway side to side as I pull rope . Then when starts I just pop clamp off . As always Sir thanks for the ride along and Keep’em coming 👍👍👍👍
Great tip! thanks for watching

Excellent content! Push the kill switch to kill the engine. No need to pull the cord everytime
I just learned that from another comment, I'll try it, thanks for watching
Got a evinrude 25 1993 has 120 psi been a long time since I’ve had a two stroke coming from my Yamaha F60 and the 25’s have a problem with motor mounts they tend to go bad
Looks like you got a really good motor!!! Thanks for the ride along !!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
it does run very well. Thanks for watching
Have a 1985 40hp commercial I been working on sat for at least 12 years. Like older ones better. Thanks for your video
Thank you, MIchael. BTW, you don't have to pull the lanyard to kill the motor. Just leave the lanyard attached and push in on the end of the red button where the lanyard goes. Again thanks for a great video of my favorite outboard - the 2-stroke, 2-cylinder, 31cubic inch OMC. They are "Boy-Dogs" for sure (very stout).
Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching.
Keep up the great content. I'm learning alot from your dyi videos on the mercruisers
Thanks, will do!
now that was a fun day.
It certainly was, thanks for watching
gday mate with that nasty oil i rekon id check the water pump as well
not a bad idea, thanks for watching
Done any work on that boat with the crushed in Gunnel?
Not yet, I need to strip the interior out of it, it's all rotten. Thanks for watching
I use something called a vibra tach to set rpm or check it. It works on anything and is accurate within 50 rpms or so. Looks unconventional but is really handy. Had it for 10 years now. Check it out i think you will like it and will purchase one
Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching
Turned out nice 👍😊
I wish I can find a good 90hp Evinrude with great compression and the lower end is good
so a complete outboard, good luck on your search, thanks for watching
Did you notice fuel running out of the front of the carburetor when the motor is off and tilted up? My 30hp Evinrude does it.
they will, when you tip it, it takes what the float does out of the equation and fuel and leak out. thanks for watching
Love your videos. Have been very helpful. I think I have seen all the relevant vids on the morots I have. Do you know if can I put a complete powerhead from 1976 Johnson 4 HP (4R76M) on a 1978 model (4806E)?
I wouldn't have the answer to that, but look up both on MarineEngine.com and you can compare some key part numbers to see if that will work. Thanks for watching
I'm new to your channel and loving it! I would like to know if there's a kit specifically designed to change the shift lever from the side to the front. I've been searching to no avail. I have an 88 Johnson 25 electric start.
I'm a first boat owner well a guy gave me the boat but I have to get the motor unseized so I'm working on that now. So patience is key
very much so it is, good luck with it, thanks for watching
I have had great success freeing up stuck motors with Sta-Bil Fogging oil. Give it a try right in the spark plug holes and let it sit for a day. Then work the flywheel by hand and gently turn it back and forth. It has a really interesting 'boiling' action that loosens stuck pistons. Good luck!
Great vid I have 2000 Johnson 25 J25REEB my tiller and linkage is all greased and lubed but it feels stiff. Very clean motor it runs great do you know if there’s a throttle tension adjustment for the tiller ? I’ve looked everywhere can’t find it thank you
what, no cylinder pressure leak down test?
Nope, ran fine and had good compression, thanks for watching
I've had one for 4 or 5 years now, look identical to that one. It doesn't throttle up as fast as it used to. It used to about buck you out the boat when you'd go full twist now it takes a while to get up to full RPMs. Any idea what the problem might be? It's intermittent, sometimes it's quick and somethings it lags. Fuel pump is fairly new, carb has been rebuilt, new fuel lines, plugs, coil packs, and power pack.
Nice outboard, looks like a great runner. How was the gear lube after you got back from the lake?
Thanks,
Tim
Still need to drain it an check it out. thanks for watching
What are your thoughts on using a drill with a socket on the fly wheel nut to try to start your project outboards in the shop? I’m an older guy and pulling the recoil on unknown motors kicks my butt. Wondering if it can hurt motor or flywheel?
Thanks
I do it all the time, be careful, thanks for watching
Thanks for sharing.
Question if I may.
I’m looking for a plastic starter gear for an early 70’s Chrysler Sea King 9.6. Any idea where to source one, new or used? Even if not perfect I could possibly use it to model and 3D print one. Thanks
eBay or MarineEngine.com my be your best resource, thanks for watching
I have one old 1974 or up don't know exactly. Is a 25 hp evenrude I did everything to the carb, it has 125psi compression on each piston. It stars and then dies I think I'm having trouble adjusting the idle screw and where to set the choke to stay running. Can you help me if you have a video will be great
Any experience of the 2.5 hp johnson twin cylinder. ? Does it perform the same as the 1 cylinder. ?
How much is one of your engines like the 15 or the 25 you sell it for
6$-$12 hundred depending on size and condition, thanks for watching
HI man
I know that you know this but some of these motors have a 100/1 sticker on the side. DO NOT mix 100/1. TC3 at 50/1 is what to use. Will run great and last much longer on the 50/1.

the Amsoil I use is a 100:1 mix oil but I mix all my outboards to a 50:1, thanks for watching
Yes! Many guys don't believe this but it certainly is true! OMC changed back to 50:1 after awhile because too many motors were burnin' 🔥 up😮
