Just like the title, let me say it one more time: I bought a comandante!
I am definitely overly excited for my hopefully-long-term relationship with this grinder. It has been a really great grinder, produces good coffees.
Around this time of the year, a few places have them on sale, especially online stores. I bought mine at Proud Mary, Aunty Pegs, Melbourne. Tried with Axil coffee that I have at work, damn delicious!

Great choice and an adorable video! Been using my Comandante on and off for over a year now and while I do like the ease of a *good* electric grinder the Comandante adds that special something to your coffee routine. There are other hand grinders out there, very good ones too but I love how you can get upgrades like the red clix or longer crank handle for us espresso guys. Simply a great company selling a great product!

I have been using my Comandante grinder for more than 2 years and it’s totally worth it! I also upgraded from the slim :) It made me learn so much about coffee on the way, and let me experiment much more with grind size when brewing.
I agree. It’s like eliminating one inconsistent element from the experiment 😂
I really enjoyed this video, the adventure to get the grinder, the music, the whole brewing process and review. Can you please do some coffee reviews too? I'm here in Melbourne so it'd be nice to hear some of your opinions on coffee beans from local roasters.

I got a timemore, after the same fragile Hario for 2 years … such an upgrade! I can’t imagine what it could be with Comandante
Thanks for the video! What are your thoughts on comandante with red clix for milky drinks, soy mainly (bonsoy) with medium roasts?
I'm not sure whether to go for kinu m47 or J-max or comandante?
I think it is possible. Although if you are mainly using it for espresso, then I believe kinu m47 is a better option. I heard Kinu produces more balance and highlights the darker notes of the beans, while Comandante highlights the acidity quality of your beans :)
But honestly, Comandante wins aesthetic wise for me.

Timemore C2 is a pretty decent grinder itself! Enjoy brewing 🙂
I own both and the Comandante is vastly superior if your aim is ultimate cup quality.
Great video! Just purchased a Comandante C40 MK4 last week, coincidentally online from Proud Mary! I have been using it the past few days and love the results so far. I think this is the being of a long term relationship for sure! How many clicks are you finding dial in best for V60? I am still trying to get dialed in, but even when I am off, I am tasting better than my electric conical burr grinder. Thank you!
Hi! Good for you! It’s actually my best purchase in 2021 especially with me focusing more on v60 pouring method.
For the grind size, try between 22-24 for lighter roasts and 26-28 for medium? I am not fully across it yet, mainly because I’m still trying out different pouring methods. If unsure, I would go for 25 clicks. All without the red clix attachment :) hope it helps and have a good day!
Congratulations. Mine came today. Have a black one with brown glass. A mk4. You should try an ethiopian sidamo dark roasted for espresso or mocca. Even good for filter or fp. :) ☮️
I had some Sidamo, but filter roasted. One of my favorite farms ❤️

First off you're adorable and you know it.
Going from a Hario to the Mk4 c40.... Sorta like going from a 1971 Ford pinto to a Bentley mulsanne.... There's really not much farther up you can go...
I have a couple really minor quibbles with your technique but it may have just been the way you edited the video.
Timemore is ok. Jx by 1zpresso is my daily. Looking for vids that compare the k plus and the commandante Mk4. What little info I have been able to find seem to lean to the c40 on taste and kplus for everything else.
Iow, the c40 is the winner 🏆
Since I got the c40, I woke up everyday excited to brew coffee. Love the clean taste it gives and I can’t deny the fact that my chocolate fine line version looks superior to the other c40s😂
Never really tried K Plus though.

If/when you start thinking about your next purchase, I recommend a PicoPresso. There's a learning curve, but now I honestly prefer the espresso from my Comandante and Pico, over a $4,000 automatic one-touch coffee bar at work.
Actually, I even like it more than the regular espresso my local roaster makes. But that has more to do with me choosing a single source bean, while they use a blend. They tell me I'm one of their relatively few customers who want single source espresso. (Most buy and brew at home, like me.)

How is your review 4 months after using the comandante? Mine is coming soon. Have you tried the se coffee with a mazzer? Im interested to see if there's a gap or how big/small the gap is. I currently have a Jolly. Great videos!
Absolutely loved and enjoyed it. Grinding is so much easier and it’s pretty consistent. I have never tried it to grind espresso size, so can’t really compare it to a Mazzer Jolly :)

@@MeggaChen u can find a new unbreakable jar and the new engine frame shape inside - more robust, with larger capacity :) there are some films in Yt. I sold mine mk3 and bought mk4 :)

Yes, you’ll be able to do that. Although, to have grind size that are more precisely adjusted, a Red Clix attachment from Comandante is recommended ☺️❤️
I want one of those, but here in Colombia, they are more expensive than in USA for example, here it cost 560 dollars, but if I buy it in USA it will cost 325, that's a lot of money less.

*be sure to watch closely the rings when u clean the grinder. I messed up and put the ring inside up and now it stuck 😅

Yeaaa, it’s 1/3-1/4 of Comandante’s price range. The only complain I have is how it’s lid cannot secure all the coffee inside. I always find myself have to clean the whole table because of some grind :(
@@MeggaChen oh really? Which one do you use, Mk3 or Mk4? I've used both at work before. Everything is fine, the lid is still secure, and the only difference is the reinforcement on the inside.
