      Itsuno right hand man is the director for dark arisen and dragons dogma online, he also working in this game.
      Thats why we see online monster like Sphinx and Medusa. The vocation so far also resemble online vocations playstyle wise like archer-hunter, thief-seeker, magick archer-elemental archer (both can heal). Im pretty sure unique vocation like High Scepter, Alchemist and Shield Sage will be in DD2 either back or replaced with similar playstyle.

    For Green Yellow I'm hoping to get a chained Kunai. Throwables (Naruto) for mid to long and chained Kunai (Scorpion) for close to mid. I'd love to pull in smaller enemies and quickly/ accurately grapple larger enimies!
    The chain could provide many monster and traversal mechanics. Along with obvious difficulties on the development side like RDR2s rope. So, the hope is a big 'if only'.

    Great video with some solid theories. I'm pretty much a believer in the circular vocation chart for now, as it follows the original concept and allows a great variety of vocations and plenty of unique gameplay style potential without going too far off the deep end in terms of realistic development time and balancing difficulty with the full 27 theory.

    I think this theorycrafting here is phenomenal. And I think your #2 star mesh design is spot on, at least as far as what they have planned, or had planned initially. They may have cut content and/or are leaving some to expansion possibilities, but I think you perfectly articulated their overall plan. I think some of your guesses are close to the mark but off target. I think spear would be more of a dark green specialization similar to the 2 hand greatsword. And I think dual hand crossbows fits better as a green/yellow agile hybrid. With dark yellow being more of a heavy, slow, powerful crossbow type to keep that theme of slower but stronger theme going that the rest of the colors possess.

  • @The92Ghost

    I am pretty sure that the advanced class for Thief would be the samurai one, while the combination between the Summoner/Conjurer and the Thief would be a Magic Sword class that summon blades and wields them from distance since that is a huge thing on the east side of the world and their RPGs.

    One theory I have in mind is: Now that we have a full daggers and full archer vocation, we may see the Strider again as a hybrid between Yellow and Green (offense from both sides as you described). It looks more reasonable than a new one using Spear or Javelins. I also see Assassin being the advanced one for Thief and Ranger for Archer. It sounds a natural approach based on the first game.

    • @Viotech3
      @Viotech3 9 месяцев назад +1

      This has been specifically deconfirmed by Itsuno. In fact, Strider being broken up into Thief and Archer was *BECAUSE* of how all-purpose Strider's multi-weapon functionality was. Itsuno & co want each vocation to have defined roles, and Strider was universal. Assassin also too universal for their liking. Likewise, the duplicate-weapon situation meant they ended up a bit too restricted. Too many vocations shared too many attacks, and that was an issue to them.
      At best they'd keep a name like Assassin and give 'em something new.

    The greatest supporting evidence I’ve heard for the existence of more vocations than we’ve been shown was an interview where Itsuno said, and I’m paraphrasing, they’d created some vocations we couldn’t imagine. I might be reading into it too much, but it doesn’t make sense to say that when the only two vocations we didn’t know about from the beginning were Trickster and Warfarer. Admittedly, I don’t think anyone predicted either of those, but still. The game seems to be built from the ground up to hide things effectively, and it would be so rewarding to stumble upon new vocations out in the world.

  • @solemnace
    @solemnace 11 месяцев назад +6

    My guess is that it's a closed loop between the 4 base vocations we see so far, with trickster being a Bataahl vocation. Then, much like you've got here, each base vocation will have an advanced vocation and 2 hybrid vocations - which means that they'll add a rogue/archer hybrid and a rogue/warrior hybrid.
    Then my guess for Bataahl vocations was that they wouldn't follow the same rules, for two reasons: Trickster already fills a rather niche spot in a lineup, so to have at least two more potentially support vocations seems unnecessary in a single player game. And more importantly, it already requires 5, but they're now just one color short of the rainbow and it would be insane not to add orange and complete it.
    So my thought was that the colors of Bataahl vocations could instead represent their components, rather than a base vocation. The idea that made the most sense to me would be to have the three colors, orange, indigo, and violet, represent the three energies of body, spirit, and mind. (Or the three dantians) In this way, the trickster here would be mind and spirit, and the two classes that they've teased at a bit more, *Samurai* would be body and spirit, and *Monk* would be body and mind.
    In this way they would have 15 vocations, with the potential to add a 16th like high scepter if they wanted to have a 'special' vocation representing the unifying of all three energies.

    • @roninmain-alpharius
      @roninmain-alpharius 10 месяцев назад

      I think monk class's archetype would lend better to the body/spirit combo, with their religious origin

    • @solemnace
      @solemnace 10 месяцев назад

      @@roninmain-alpharius Between the two, you may be right, but then the stereotypical monk is Buddhist in origin, and their religion is focused on enlightenment and being unbound by attachments. I would say that it's slightly more suited to the upper dantian, and the 'third eye' while samurai lend themselves better to the "warrior spirit" but depending on personal interpretation you could arguably go either way.

    • @roninmain-alpharius
      @roninmain-alpharius 10 месяцев назад

    Personally I don't think the pink and purple archetype will cross with any of the other vocations, so i think there's not gonna be any hybrid between fighter, thief or mage and archer, just because of the emphasis they put on the separation between the two nations. Just a theory
    Also I'll bet anything monk is gonna have gauntlets and claws as weapons so they could both deal blunt and slash damage
    its not gonna be unarmed because the reason it wasn't implemented in DD1 is because at the time it was unarmed they didn't have to buy weapons and kinda broke the balance of the game. Its explicitly mentioned in the twitter post you showed on DD official twitter.

I based it on in-game shots we had of the Vocation menu instead of the website, which does change things. I did a bajillion permutations as to what the Menu'd look like with all vocations unlocked, including "What if 9 vocations" and "What if 18 vocations" and "What if [etc]", just for posterity.
    Good video!

  • @BlazeMakesGames
    @BlazeMakesGames 9 месяцев назад

    I've been skeptical of the notion of there being so many more different classes compared to the first game. But I also admittedly don't know much about Dragon's Dogma. And Seeing as DD2 seems to be "What if we had all the money and time we wanted to finish DD1" I could totally see them introducing cut classes as well as DDO classes, which could already get them pretty close to that number represented in the Circle Theory. I was also skeptical of what Trickster's component classes could be split into but I think you make a solid argument for the Cleric and Conjurer.
    All I know is that as someone who is relatively new to the games, It's only going to be harder to figure out which classes I wanna play if it turns out that there are that many in the game. Which is yet another reason for me to play Warfarer and just play three classes at once! lol

    Monk would fit really well a green/purple hybrid, conjuring energy to power some sort of fist weapon (similar to BG3's way of the four elements subclass). Green/yellow could be a straight up samurai, using both a katana and a bow (although it would share it with the archer, so maybe not).

    For the idea of the yellow/green being spear while still retaining a ranged option, could just let the Arisen have a teensy bit of access to magic despite not being tied to a blue or pink/purple class. I mean, they are running around without a heart so even a pure martial Arisen is still inherently tapping into magic at all times. So just have the spear return or teleport back into hand.
    That or give them access to infinite javelins as a secondary to their main spear. Bow users have always had infinite arrows without any in-universe explanation so may as well do infinite javelins as well.
    Also as for advanced yellow, I prefer the idea of them lugging around a ballista or hell, maybe even a cannon. Let it be like how Warrior is to Fighter. The clunkier, harder to play version of Archer but when you master it, you're doing ridiculous ranged damage.

    There's a lot of evidence right now showing that DD2 will have a total of 9 vocations, maybe they release new ones with a future DLC, but so far, people have been making tons of theories based on nothing, and setting themselves for disappointment.

      Itsuno and official showcases literally call the mixed color vocations "hybrid" vocations and they say they are Arisen-exclusive which is exactly how they did it in DD1. I think you're just mistaken, my friend.

    • @HCSbr
      @HCSbr 10 месяцев назад

      Maybe about hybrid vocations, but from the moment they showed Trickster, people went batshit because of the color combinations. I just think there's absolutely no way they make purple and pink basic vocations. Still, I stand with what I said about the total number of vocations, it's all pretty clear, but people don't want to see it.@@OSKGaming123

    Might be unpopular opinion but I would be fine with 9 vocations. Also I think theorizing too heavily on unreleased games leads to misinformation (because people are stupid and spread theories as facts) which leads to overhyping the game and disappointment on release. Detrimental to the games initial impression by artificially inflating expectations.

    Maybe we get more in a later dlc. Such as advanced AND Hybrid vocations to go even further beyond. 😂

      I hope that too. Logic woul be 12 by now.
      DD 1 hab 3 Base, 3 advanced and 3 hybrid vocations.
      Now with 4 Base we could have 4 advanced and 4 Hybrid vocations in total.

      lol. you think that’s strange? what would be “strange” is if archer and thief didn’t even get their own advanced vocations.
      and yet they added in a hybrid (trickster) of 2 apparently nonexistent vocations 😂

    • @RathalosLARP
      @RathalosLARP 10 месяцев назад

      @@effusivemind lets hope for it. 9 would be pretty bad.
      I hope for 12 at least. Makes sense with 4 basics to get 4 advanced and 4 hybrids.
      DD 1 had a triangular pattern/picture and DD2 should at least have square one 👍
      When magik archer is archer & magician the trickster is thief and magician maybe?
      Edit: nah lets forget about this. That would be 3 magick hybrid vocations. Makes not much sense 😅

  • @zwei3179
    @zwei3179 11 месяцев назад

    The spear hybrid doesnt look like red if you look closer it seems to be more of a oragnish dark red, compare to the very dark red of warrior. So spear is most likely a bright orange class.
    So
    We got a orange class which is spear class
    We got a purple and we got a pink class
    Now beyond we might get one more color, but eh we will find out more this month or even next month. I bet they will start tossing Class trailers before the launch
    So whatever those two classes are is going to be fun to figure out. Granted i do hope for a brawler class with your fist only aka some kind of monk

    This concept of 18 vocations makes mathematically no sense, because whyever you are assuming, that there will exist only 1 specific Hybrid Combition with 1 single other color.
    Correct however would it be to combine every color with every color, which would result then in fact mathetically into 27 vocations.
    6 Base Classes, 6 Advanced Classes and 15 Hybrids, if you combine every color with everythign for a Hybrid Class.
    This means
    Red+Yellow, Red+Green, Red+Blue, Red+Pink, Red+Purple
    Yellow+Green, Yellow+Blue, Yellow+Pink, Yellow+Purple
    Green+Blue, Green+Pink, Green+Purple
    Blue+Pink, Blue+Purple
    Pink+Purple
    As you can count this down, its 15 possible Hybrid Combinations out of 6 Base Classes which need to be combined with EACH OTHER logically, effectively trippling the amount of playable Classes from DD1, which is also still very realistic for a game, that claims to be 4 times bigger than DDDA in its complete game size. This should logically include playable Classes too, not only the explorable world.
    Base:
    Fighter - Offensive Heavy Armor Melee Archetype (+High Constant DPS/ Off Tank)
    Archer - Offensive Physical Ranged Archetype (+Crowd Controler/High Burst DPS)
    Thief - Offensive Light Armor Melee Archtype (+Crowd Controler/Debuffer)
    Mage - Universal Magical Archtype (+Supporter/Healer)
    Knight - Defensive Heavy Armor Melee Archtype (+Supporter/Main Tank)
    Merchant - Defensive Light Armor Midrange Archtype (+Buffer/Healer)
    Thats 6 completely different Archetypes. Summoner is no Archetype on a basic level, its just a Sorcerer, who learned to call for Elemental Creatures, instead of causing Elemental Havoc, which makes Summoner rather an improved version of a Sorcerer.
    A Summoner just sacrifices the Ally Healing for going rather full DPS and changes his support to Allies into Support for Summons to keep them alive n strong for as long as possible, to stay in the background and let the summons do the job to contribute in combat for them. It is just a different form of Magic School a Sorcerer specialized itself in.

      @ChristianKessler4185 11 месяцев назад

      In theory it could be maximum even 15 more up to 42 playable Classes with 6 colors staying maximum as Base Classes, if Capcom would go for dual priority Hybrids, cause Red+Blue is not the same as like Blue+Red, but that would be way too insane to have right from the start in the game, thats rather something that could be done later after Game Release als DLC Content, to give players after release more new playable Classes from the missing combination options that are vice versa the color combinations.

    • @ChristianKessler4185
      @ChristianKessler4185 11 месяцев назад

      This could be done then with also Add Ons, which coudl perhaps add Class Upgrades for Master Classes as new third tier after Advanced/Hybrid. That would allow the game to have the biggest possible Class Variety you can imagine to have and more than enough Character Progression to keep players busy for a long time ^^
      Look at the Classes/Vocations from Dragons Dogma Quest, you can clearly see in there, that Capcom already had years ago concepts for lots of more Classes, than what DD1 or DDO had in the end. I think its time to make with DD2 usage of these many unused concepts, where it fits this time, cause 6 base Classes with Hybrids for all Combinations + DLC after release, would make it possible.
      Fighter > Warrior > Berserker
      Archer > Ranger > Tamer
      Thief > Rogue > Assassin
      Mage > Sorcerer > Summoner
      Knight > Guardian > Paladin
      Merchant > Craftsman > Blacksmith
      This for Base to Adept to Master for just the 6 Main Routes without Hybrids
      Hybrids
      Red+Yellow = Hunter > Sniper, Red+Green = Duelist > Blade Dancer, Red+Blue = Mystic "Knight" > Spirit Lancer, Red+Purple = Legionary > Commander, Red+Pink = Mercenary > Templar
      Yellow+Green = Bard > Minstrel, Yellow+Blue = Magic Archer > Spellslinger, Yellow+Purple = Warden > Scout, Yellow+Pink = Spy > Saboteur
      Green+Blue = Alchemist > Druid, Green+Purple = Nightstrider > Dark Knight, Green+Pink > Charlatan > Gambler
      Blue+Purple = Cleric > Crusader, Blue/Pink ) Monk > Priest
      Among the 15 potential other Hybrids for DLC could be then for example , just to name few
      1. Monk > Sage (Pink+Blue)
      2. Occultist > Necromancer (Blue+Green)
      3. Elementalist > Spellblade (Blue+Red)
      4. Exorcist > Demonslayer (Purple/Green)
      the potential here is just huge and Capcom woudl be simply dump, if they dont make full usage of it this time, to profit from it.
