Unfortunately if you want eBay prices you need to put in the work and sell online. If you are selling at a flea market / swap meet then you get less money. I really hate it when people selling say "I can get X amount on ebay for this" yeah you can and I can also stay in bed and buy it for that price from eBay and not have to get up at 5am to drive to you in the cold to buy your item that you are asking ebay prices for. Thats not how it works guys. The reality is If you sell in person at a flea market expect to sell for less. Otherwise people like Dusty would be taking home most of their items each week as they haven't sold and then you have to deal with storage costs
I have something listed on eBay right now for $250. After ad and listing fees, I clear about $170. It's a large item that cost $40 to ship it. So, my net on 250 ends up being roughly 130.
@eelobrian6727 eBay fees are not 30% they average 13%. If you are paying extra to promote or advertise then that's a choice by the seller. Would make more economical sense to price below market value to get the sale. Shipping is rough in the U.S though. The only option there is to make buyer pay or factor into your asking price which isn't ideal. Obviously this all depends on what you are selling.
No disrespect but they are swap meet vendors. The idea of the swap meet is cheap. I feel more people are mad they go to the swap meet and pay market or above on snything from power drills to video games
Unless it’s a flea market where they have to pay money to be able to sell there, swap meets are typically free or only a few dollars. So as a consumer, I don’t even see them as a vendor per say. I would put them on the same level as someone boasting a garage sale. So it makes sense sense people are trying to find good deals and not trying to pay market value for items
Agreed. If someone buys at market prices from them, you think they accept return items if they didn't work? They want all benefit but no accountability.
Negotiating at the flea/swap is the most fun part. Sometimes feels like these vendors would rather go home with the items then to move them at a reasonable price.
@redlummada1985 I wake up at 2am for work and have done for 10+ years now It certainly doesn't get easier Bakers in their 50s and 60s struggle getting up at these times and they've been doing it their entire lives Sorry to tell you but 4:30am isn't early which is why you can handle it I have a family of 6 and a few days a week sporting events run until 6pm I get about 4-5 hours sleep a night If I wanted 8-10 hours sleep, I'd never see my family 4:30am early.. 😂
I really enjoy watching your videos after my exhausting day at work to relax. I wish I had friends like yours to have so much fun with... I usually never comment on videos, but I just had to say it this time :)
I dont want to pay full price at actual retail stores. So why would I pay that or more at a flea market or swap meet. Use to be going to these was finding things you would like at low prices. Now they want crazy amounts. We are not all resellers trying to turn a profit. Some are they to find stuff they would want without paying store prices. Now, everything is compared to ebay/ Amazon prices. If I wanted those prices why would I go to the market..... just order it from home. Funny thing is these vendors find these things at super low prices or storage lockers and hike up so why complain
So I get they need to make a living and that they have paid for what they have but…it’s still a swap meet…people are looking for things cheap…same as garage sales, thrift stores, GOODWILL(they’re the biggest offender here since they don’t pay for the stuff they’re selling) so people don’t want to pay “market” value. I’m never a jerk to a seller about the amount they’re asking but I generally do ask if they’re willing to take any less on something. Now if it’s someone I personally know I’m willing to pay more like you guys with Dusty but I’m still looking for deals. If I want to pay “market” value of something I’d rather be sitting on my couch lol
@ I like it, it’s a good average of prices but doesn’t take into account condition or if someone makes a listing mistake so it’s not perfect but it’s nice when you want to have an idea quickly
@@dexter_johnson Pricecharting is absolutely not killing the hobby. These flea market vendors are more than awful. They sell broken junk most of the time. They are GameStop without any of the accountability at all.
The flea market or swap meet has a notority of being "cheap". If I wanted to go pay near market prices for my games or any other items, why would I go to a place that does not accept returns and most of the items are untested. So, due to the nature of that people are looking for "good deals". Yes not everyone is like that but people do not go to flea markets to willingly pay market price when they can just order on Amazon or eBay.
I would say it’s a toss up between people being cheap and getting up at 3am. My dad was a flea market vendor for years. I remember getting up at 3am and my dad telling me to hurry and put my boots on. I was only 3 but from that age all the way till I was 19 I was with my dad every weekend. We hated people who would low ball you and then try to compare your prices to something unreasonable. We didn’t even sell at market price but people still wanted everything for next to nothing. It’s like o is that a 300 dollar console you’re asking 125.00 I’ll give you 15 dollars. I understood later why we got up at 3am because you really needed to because it took 2 hours to setup. People would show up at 8am and if you where still setting up at that time that was profit lost. Can’t sell what is still packed away is what my dad always said.
Market prices based on ebay sales include a service provided by the seller and a risk taken by them to abide ebay platform rules. This is also why amazon prices are often higher, the service fee is higher because amazon is quick, easy for the buyer and tolerates all they could and would do. At a swapmeet buyers have to go out of their way to find items, they are given no guarentees, the seller has to do a minimum amount of work, runs nearly no risk once the sale happened and can potentially do it tax free if they desire to do so. To expect people to pay market prices in a such a situation is pretty ridiculous if you ask me. Simply because the market price in such a situation is inherently different. If a game pricecharts at 10 usd and a buyer pays 9 bucks at a swapmeet technically they'd be overpaying. As even adjusted for the ebay fees of +- 1 usd they are still paying for a service that they aren't getting. What the sweet spot is no one can say for certain.

@finjibuns correct on all counts. I'd add, On eBay, you can pay 70% ad fee ans get way less views per item than at a swap meet. Trust me on this one.

I concur. Vendors at these things are expecting top value, but not offering the same guarantees and protections of a real store.
Exactly right! It’s a swap meet. Not eBay. You go to flea market for deals. This Channel used to be that way. Til they went and got all fancy.
They all say cheap buyers, but when I get told market price for video games and consoles that half the time don’t work, I can’t feel bad for them

Waking up early, between 1AM-4AM is the hardest part. Cheap buyers aren't a problem if you price your items right.
If it's your job, waking up early shouldn't be hard. My job requires a 4:30 wake up. It's what you do to support your family. Go to bed earlier.
@redlummada1985 I wake up at 2am for work and have done for 10+ years now
It certainly doesn't get easier
