Finally an audience that can hold a steady beat
The way I think of it is that a group of people going to a concert like this are going to have some degree of knowledge about music and rhythm, which is why they can easily play with the beat.
We've seen too many audiences struggle with odd rhythms in Jazz, that's why this is unusual.
Actually. This is not as fluent as it sounds.
I wouldn't clap, i never clap. Not because i think it's rude or otherwise but simply i suck. I never clap in rythm. Worst part i am learning piano and am realising how bad it is. If i don't learn to clap i might as well give up on learning music🥲
This is not exactly a difficult beat, tempo or time signature. Now if they could clap along to "The Dance Of Eternity" by Dream Theater, then I'd be impressed.
What an awesome way to bring the audience into the show. It makes the point that the audience is just as important as the orchestra.
It’s always the final encore of the Vienna new year’s concert, and it’s always lovely. New Year’s Day isn’t New Year’s Day to me without “An den schönen blauen Donau”, die Wienerphilharmoniker wishing me „Prosit Neujahr“ and “Radetzky-Marsch”.
Yes, Mr Gustavo Dudamel is extraordinary!
Well, not "just as important". Without the commitment of the audience, the piece would still be lovely. But without the orchestra there were only people randomly clapping :D
Radetsky's march is essentially the only work with which the audience can express their emotions through applause during performance. This march was written for the meeting of Field Marshal Radetzky of the Austrian Empire after the successful suppression of the rebellion in the Italian lands of the empire, so the marshal was greeted in Vienna with applause
Because I cannot find the title, I want to tell other people who see this this is Radetzky-Marsch, Op. 228 by Johann Strauss I.
It's wonderful to watch someone who LOVES HIS JOB!!!!!
Pensei a mesma coisa. Eu vejo uma vibração incrível nele.
I love this guy, always looks like he loves what he does and always smiling.
This guy is exactly what a conductor should look like
Absolutely ⚘️
Maybe that’s why he became a conductor.
@@matttondr9282 this has me laughing
He's literally dudamel
Just look how happy he looks
He’s Gustavo Dudamel, one of the youngest who achieves world greatest conductor title today. There’s also a documentary about him
Born in Venezuela, he single handed took down street crime in his area by giving out musical instruments using his own money or donation to keep the children out of crime life.
We stan Dudamel
What a lovely man!
More reasons to love this conductor.
aww I hope that's true
🤍🤍🤍🤩😍😍🙏🏼🤞🏼
… Although, the story has gotten a little more complex than that upon closer examination over the years. Like many good deeds, some involvement by shady characters adds some tarnish. The same is true of, say, Mother Theresa’s leper colony, so it’s not necessarily disqualifying.
He seems like a very charming, engaging man
Gustavo Dudamel at the Vienna New year's concert 2017. Probably the best start to one of the best years of my life
When you absolutely love your job
Nice pfp-love Rush!
So true...
Yes !
When you love what you do, its never work.
Every year, at the New Year's Day Concert from Vienna, one of the most glamorous and heart warming musical events in the world. No, you won't be able to afford a ticket, but the BBC show it on TV.
For Germans: ZDF also shows it live
@@jankisi In the Netherlands as well
How much is the ticket?I saw it in miami several years ago but I have the feeling that it wasnot exactly the same as if I see it in Viena.
Up to 860 euro for a seat
The cheapest seat is only €20. You probably won't be able to buy it because of high demand, not because you can't afford.
Great conductor, who makes the audience touch the music too!
Always love the New Years Day Concert from Vienna, watching it on the BBC is a must in this family. Thanks fof ghe joy you've just given me.
If someone dont know what this masterpiece is: Radetzky-Marsch, Op. 228
Sir can I go to NY concert of Vienna 2024 with 2000 euros in pocket
@@prathamtv6686 if you want
Thanks
A school used it as their sports music once
basic music knowledge
A classic of the Vienna NY concert. I love when conductors gesture to the orchestra as if to say "you know what to do, I'll deal with the public"
Dudamel is so great!
They look so happy!!
The video made me happy too!
I thought that too! Musicians often look focused or passionate but grins & smiles are rare 🤓
@@KRW200perhaps it is because it is the last piece of the Vienna New Year’s Concert (Austria) is the Radeztky March op.28
Gustavo Dudamel is so amazingly talented as he is sweet and humble.
What a fun piece of music! The conductor ,of course, took advantage of it, and made sure everyone in the theater had a good time! The composer would be happy to know! 🎉
He's such a lovely guy, his personality is catching. A very, very talented man 🎉🎉❤❤🎉🎉
FOMO!😭😭😭 I just wanna be there to clap too 😂
This was beautiful man!
What charisma ❤
I love how happy people look on stage
To get on that stage they all worked their behinds off that’s not regular orchestra 😂 it must feel good for them
When musicians love what they're doing!
Ahhhhh, I love Gustavo Dudamel
What a lovely connection between the audience and the conductor and the orchestra as a whole
This guy. It's always this guy.
And I love it.
Gustavo Dudamel is so amazing.
He shows what the conductor should be -- every one including audience became one heart, full of joy ❤
TRUE.
Shows the power and respect provided to the conductor
He is soooo proud to see it is working that good! 🥰
He really loves his job
This piece has been written extra like this- the audience is an integral part with the clapping ❤
Love this guy, he clearly loves his job, a joy to watch this, such fun❤
He's just so brilliant
This made me happy 😍
The conductor, the players touched everyone’s soul! Great performance!
That's the Radetzky march at new year's concert at the Wien Opera and it is a must to accompany the march clapping 👏
That one guy in the audience not clapping💀
thank You
I would intentionally clap at beats 1 and 3 to puss everyone off .. 😂😂😂😂😈
Exactly! Call security immediately!😂
@@alexp.d3689Wouldn’t that just be clapping half notes
Amazed.
This kind of audience is one of my wishes to get within
Our dear Venezuelan director! So proud
Puedes, debemos, estarlo😏
That is the new years concert of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra for those interested. That concert ends each year with the same two parts. The Blue Danube waltz and the Radetzki marsh where the conductor conducts the audience. Some years ago to celebrate the "Strauss year" the Redetzky march was even part of the regular concert and the conductor there had to shut down the audience as they also wanted to clap along but only in the bonus part at the end the conductor allowed the audience to clap along.
Btw, if you ever have to perform a cardiac massage, think of this marsh. It has the right frequency and rhythm.
I remember that Herbert von Karajan did this many many moons ago already. So nothing new.
As a member of the local Gilbert and Sullivan Society, I always enjoyed being properly conducted during the sing-along portion of the annual gala. It was lots of fun to have a real conductor get an audience of us amateurs to do our best-including criticizing us when we were not good enough. 🎶😸❤️
Gilbert and Sullivan societies are a thing? I would love that. But I doubt there’s one anywhere near me. 😄
This conductor is a living music himself . Love his enthusiasm for the music and his energy for the audience.❤
How smart to include the audience when the audience is who is usually entertained!!
Amo questo direttore e tutti i professori d'orchestra .... Grandiosa esecuzione ... La marcia di Radetzky, la mia preferita !!!!! 💖💥✨.
His face tells that he really enjoys what he does.
Der Dirigent ist einmalig.

How can you not love Dudamel?
👌
This guy is pure joy. If you live in L.A., see him before he goes to NYC! Saw him conduct Aida at the Hollywood Bowl. Epic.
Wow, I love it! That's a great moment!
He is living his purpose, joy emits from his soul ❤😊
Ojalá pudiera ir, me encanta 💖
Yo también🌵
I think the first time i have seen it was with Karajan, probaly was one of his last concerts, he looked quite surprised by the situation, but overall was quite wholesome, aparently it has became a tradition in Vienna's new year concerts.
Interesting, I've known Karajan to be a serious conductor. I wonder how his face looked when he did his version. I also heard this with Barenboim.
@@daveo2431 You can search for it on youtube, it's the same piece.
The thing, i think... Is that it was at the very end of his life, and i'm pretty sure that he was conscious of it. Why wouldn't he allow himself to have it, to not take himself so seriously, to just enjoy the moment?
Grande Gustavo....viva Venezuela!!!
I had to watch this 5 times. That’s so cool.
I watch this (different conductors, but same orchestra, same piece and same general experience) every year.
@@ragnkja Can you tell me the name of the piece please?

So much love and charisma. Few people can command hundreds of people with just a few hand gestures and a cheeky smile. And that cut was clean. Simply fantastic!
If a conductor of the New Year’s Concert can’t conduct the audience, they’ve failed at their job, because this is _always_ the final encore.
@@ragnkja True, but the pinache and grace was still impressive and inspiring.

You see why the New Year's Concert is a must-watch for me every year? It's a world-class orchestra, and they always get one of the best conductors in the world for the New Year's Concert.

merci maestro, vous êtes enthousiasmant.
I wish more classical concerts had this light hearted energy to go with the music!
Sometimes it feels so stiff in the world of classical music :/
Amazing...Music is definitely a Miracle...
One of the best conductors of all time haha. He's so great with orchestras
Who is he
Gosh here on Google a conductor has for years brought audience into the performance. I just found the posting a week or so ago. Now I am crying can't remember his name dang BUT a report appeared HE is retiring because of medical reasons. LET all conductors continue his wonderful expressiveness and joy to mesh audience physically as well as emotionally! Thanks 👍😊 for sharing!

I love the way he involves the audience. It's genius.
At least they can keep the rythm.
At least they could afford the tickets or beeing invited to new year's concert in Vienna.
The guy on his phone in among all of the clappers😂
The musicians are all smiling ! Tells all for this conductor !
Gustavo Dudamel. This man is... incredible
This is Art. Love it ❤❤
