- In our contemporary culture, the Bible’s description of Jesus as a “high priest” does not resonate as it would have with a first-century reader. Nevertheless, Alistair Begg teaches us that understanding Jesus’ priestly role is fundamental to our Christian faith. As the writer of Hebrews makes clear, every requirement for an Old Testament high priest was met in Jesus Christ, whose priesthood will last forever.

Thank you for glorifying the person of Jesus Christ through the preaching of His Word. It helped me understand better the suffering of Jesus and how God has used it on our behalf.
Jesus entire mission while on earth was to "Glorify his beloved FATHER", not himself" ( John 17:4) Also at the Last supper "This means everlasting life that they might know YOU the ONLY TRUE GOD,...and the one who YOU sent forth Jesus Christ! Yes Jesus is the 'way' the 'door' the 'light' leading us THROUGH himself to God the Father! Let us Glorify our dear heavenly Father for so graciously sending his beloved Son down to earth to die for us sinners! All praise to Him ( Matt 11:25) Amen!
Brother Alistair I just wanted to say I've been listening to your messages for about a month now... I was led to your messages because I listen to John McArthur, RC and Ferguson and others. Love the question panel too. I'm just always starving for the word and to hear it taught properly and deeply. I want to know Him and His word and I'm in a blessed season where I'm able to listen to the word and the Bible all day long while I work. Just wanted to encourage you and say thank you so much brother for your teaching. You and the other pastors confirm the things that the Holy Spirit teaches me through His word. Hard to find solid biblical teaching that comes from the foundation of God's complete and total sovereignty! Most christians I run into and fellowship with just dont believe that way.... as you already know most of the American Christian Church believe it's more about... mans complete and total sovereignty free will and grace and love. I want the Truth and because it convicts me and keeps me on the narrow. I've been greatly edified by your messages as well as by the other pastors. God is so good! So thanks again! May the Lord continue to use you to edify the body and God bless you and your family brother! 🙏
