I installed this yesterday with a 1TB drive, straight forward and easy. The drive is fast with no issues. Highly recommend,.

Always leave the "stickers" on, unless specifically instructed to remove them in the manual. These "stickers" are thermally conductive; they spread heat evenly across the chips. Use two of the blue heat pads (or one red if supplied), thin one underneath the NVMe drive and thick one on top (remember to remove the clear plastic protection strips). The third pad (which is divided into little squares) provides an optional heat pad configuration. Instead of the thick one on top, place the individual squares onto the individual chips. This latter option is preferred in some situations, dependent on system airflow, shape of heat sink, etc...

For single sides drives, there is no need to put a pad between the drive and the PCB. Indeed in that case the thin pad would not make contact.

Thanks for this. The supplied instructions don't mention the heat pads at all, they just leave it up to you to guess how they're used.

I recently bought an HP Turbo pci-e nvme adaptor for my old HP Z 440. Changed one bios setting and it loaded Windows 10. The adaptor cost $29 AU which is $200 AU cheaper than last year. So stoked that my old HP is blazing. I put a Gen 4 HP nvme which also cost me $29 AU into it. Hopefully no throttling issues running at Gen 3 speeds.

Hi, I think that all the 3 supplied thermal pads should be used: the thicker one under the nvme and the 2 thinner on the 2 sides in contact with the heatsink. It create a full sandwich.

    • @Nick_R_
      @Nick_R_ 4 месяца назад

Not according to Sabrent. The thick one is too thick to go between the drive and the PCB. The thin one too thin, except for with double sides drives.

That's NOT a sticker, it's a heat spreader and should remain on the drive. Yes it'st sticky and has writing on it, but it's made of a material with fairly high thermal conductivity (the glue probably is high thermal conductivity as well.

    • @gamertechlive1780

      No it depends.
Some uses a 100% legit sticker which I always remove.
Then some uses a thermal conductive material w/ letters on it that looks like an sticker I.E. all Intel m.2 wifi card.
If you peel them their hard and impossible to peel feels like thin aluminum when you tried to peel it, so I gave up and due to the feel I just put a pure copper heatsink on the top of the wifi card.
Most m.2 uses stickers they are not thermal conductive.
And all wifi card uses the thing your talking about.

@@gamertechlive1780 you are incorrect. The vast majority of m.2 SSDs nowadays utilize a thermal transfer sticker. You might find a normal sticker on the lowest of low end drives. However you’ll likely just find no sticker at all, since even the most lower end ssd manufacturers have figured out by this point that spending money on a sticker that lowers performance no matter how slightly is a worse idea than just not even adding the sticker in the first place.

Incorrect, unless you are using a double sided drive.

@@TechworksOnline No they made the screws very cheap for this product, so cheap. The screw driver would just dig in the screw and you couldn't be able to pull them out

Hi mate, yes I managed to. Initially I plan to get refund (sorry I meant exchange) from Amazon. What I did was I push the screw a bit normal force onto the screw, then I turn at the conventional ''unscrew direction.
