The little Harley Quinn interlude where she falls in love with the general was very innovative.
I loved the actual comic vibe overall, a lot of the shots seemed like you could see them coming from the squares of a comic itself, Loved the small sub plots, the movie felt divided by issues with crumbs of foreshadowing to all the reveals. Actually enjoyable and decent solid 7 or 8.
I actually joined the stream at one point and asked in chat if there where spoilers and chat said yes (thanks chat lol) but then I watched it a week later with ok expectations but came out amazed!
Great video Will, I’m loving your new content!!
really loving this movie review series from will
I thought it was a good movie. But there’s something about it that I can’t put my finger on that stops me from liking it more or thinking of it as being great. I liked it but that’s about it
Maybe the gore ? Idk but I liked everything about it. 8.9/10
The writing, the production, the cast and gore was great but the story was kinda overwhelming bad and simple
I really really didn’t like the movie, but I appreciate what will said, changed my mind on a lot of points from the film
I defn enjoyed the movie way more than Will did, it was so much fun, I've rewatched it a handful of times, and I haven't done that with a lot of movies.
You can say that "The Suicide Squad" is a bad movie or mediocre or bla bla bla. But you seriously cannot say that the first suicide squad is better.
They're both pretty decent, but considering neither is anything to write home about I honestly prefer the first one. Better CG, better story etc. I liked the new one but honestly had nothing against the edgier one and kinda prefer it tbh.
Safe to say the best DC movie yet?
@Zarinus !!! I nearly forgot Shazam, but you're right on both counts. I still might prefer it over Joker, only because I prefer the light-heartedness, which feels weird to say about Suicide Squad
Hell no. Both Wonder Woman and Aquaman were better.
The problem is that Warner Bros is enamored with having a quality actress in Margot Robbie, but the public as a whole doesn’t give a shit about the character of Harley Quinn. The same way we didn’t give a shit about Mystique, even though an Academy Award winning actress was playing her.
Does anyone know which stream this was from
I loved the movie! 9/10
I fell asleep in the theater watching this but still thought it was good haha
Good takes only
I loved it
It was a 6.5-7/10, had its moments but I think it’s being blown out of proportion because of how shit DC movies have been in the past
Superhero movies get their own scores, it’s an 9/10 superhero movie but a 7 if it was a regular movie.
This is the first DC movie I've seen and you pretty much sum up how I felt. I wonder if I would've liked it more if I did have that experience of being disappointed by every other DC movie.
Im just curious as to why you were shocked of it being any good and even hesitated before the movie came out?
You mention previous DC movies which I'm also a firm believer that they all sucked, some even to laughable extent, but this time we were talking about the director being James Gunn and him being given full freedom on this project.
JG came from Guardians 1 & 2 which have been back to back great movies and pleased most of the fans, so there was no reason for anyone to speculate this movie was going to be bad.
In fact I'd say solely because of the fact that JG was directing it put the expectations high in the first place.
There really is no other reason than what you and what Will already said.
Like you can’t expect him to have the same biases as everyone else (ie James Gunn os directing, etc.) and have that be a factor of why he shouldn’t have been shocked. In fact, I’m surprised its doing well and not because I had low expectations of the director but like Will, but due to being let down from every movie I’ve seen from DC so far (within their cinematic universe).
