He's endlessly interesting, so much depth to him. I like the look in his eyes, he was stark raving mad, yet also had a calmness to him, quite an ambiguous man like most great people. Whenever i need a little lift out of the mundane, or feel alienated from our boring culture, i always turn to Hunter Thompson.

Imagine Hunter during his prime right now in this day and age, slashing at the cowards left and right with his words, each letter a bullet into the brain of de-evolution. How far would his voice carry?

Not too far. They'll group up and discredit him in whichever preferred way. Hell, they'll easily call him a "junkie" and that'll be that. And if he continues to make insane amounts of sense they will just switch off and go back to their communities to lay low, wait and then eventually come back.
We don't inhabit the world where truths and logic survive for long against the agenda and interest of communities and parties. That is why organized religion still exists, for example - they simply don't give a shit for your logic, it suits their interest too much to propagate bullshit about whichever god they decided to believe in.
So yeah, again - would not carry too far.

@@AnnaLVajda Only he truly knows why he “did a Hemingway”, although I distinctly remember his wife claiming it was because he didn’t want to be a problem for his family. Had something to do with medical fees or something similar.
God do I envy Depp for being able to be in his company and tripping the fuck out.

He body was breaking down from years of self abuse and he always hinted that he would go out that way. He was in control even though at times he lived his life totally out of control. “No more fun” I believe were some of his last written words. What a wild and incredibly interesting life!!

you're admonishing his writing process, when here you are sober (by assumption of your self-important standpoint) and STILL writing like a clown. how ironic, lol pretty sure you mean "illicit".
