Hi, I always love your kitties so I have to watch all your videos lol. Love your art and I do love, Roman Szmal. Seems like a little bit of a frustrating set if it's missing two important mixing colors since they're only 12 pans.
This set was my first Roman Szmal set (or paint) I purchased. I was so amazed with the performance of the colours. I fell in love. I was happy with the color selection, but did end ip buying additional colors, and now the urban sketch one as well. The duplicates don’t bother me, as I did use them a lot already, so I have replacements. And I change up some of the colors.
I just love the quality of the paint, it is such a joy to paint with them. I’m probably a bit weird with my paint, but I like to not mix and match brands (as I used to like in the past) so I am happy to have more colors from RS now. But in the beginning, the lack of a black did train me to either mix it or think around the corner. So it did teach me a thing or two. 😂

Oooo, that's a good question! I'd love to try the Pasqualino Fracasso set, and maybe the mixing set too :3 The Fracasso set has some really appealing colors in there and it seems to have a nice cyan/magenta/yellow triad in there!
What about you? Is there a RS set you'd really love to try?
@EveBolt I see we want similar things 😃 I have been wanting this Fracasso set since 2020, mostly because the selection of blues is so intriguing! But now what is doable is completing Lee's set of colours she is going to use during her class I think? I already have 8 of the 12 colors, so picking up a couple is not a big problem and should be fun! 😃
I still wait for the day Roman Szmal might consider paint tubes. It's been a while since I asked him about it, but he told me he doesn't have plans for tubes at the moment. Otherwhise I'd be happy to buy a full set if I can refill it.
You can repurchase half-pans (they offer them open stock now!) and keep the empty ones for other paints I guess. I understand not making tubes from a paint maker's perspective. Tubes are a LOT more complicated to do than dry pans.
Hi, I am a paint maker. I believe because their paints are handmade and hand-poured, tubing may be a bit difficult for them especially when it comes to quality check if they also have to hand pour the tubes. Often times tubes from manufacturers even have a different formulation in order to prevent them from molding since they are constantly in a wet state as many manufacturers do have to add a preservative to prevent tube paints from going bad. From what I understand, the only antimicrobial in Roman Szmal is linden honey, which sometimes isn't enough to deter mold in very wet environments

I really like the earth tones of the set but not the primaries selection. Ideally I would bring them over on the first set and complete the primaries of the other set instead. Ideally...
I still filled the same small box of RZ wtih 15 half pans in the end. 🤫
Ooo, I need to consider adding three extra pans to one of the sets to round it out! I miss having a cobalt teal in there!
I’m surprised that there’s no magenta… I do like that there’s a phthato blue red shade, I prefer it to the blue shade. A mix of the two palettes would probably be ideal, although for me the other one is more attractive 😊
I'd prefer a blue shade one so it's closer to cyan XD But yeah, I think a combo of colors from the two palettes would make a pretty neat palette (just add an extra cobalt teal in there and we're good to go! XD)
@@EveBolt Oh yes, a cobalt teal would be a great addition! I also like a transparent yellow to add a glow to my greens. I find it very inspiring to see well curated palettes - either by companies or by artists!

I was almost sold on this palette just because of the purple but the other palette looks a bit better than this one 😅 I guess it depends on what you are painting too
Definitely! I think it would be easier to get the other palette and sneak an extra purple in the middle of the tray XD

Haha, sorry! XD I have a substantial backlog and decided to do all the Roman Szmal palettes in the same block... I don't have no more palettes from that range, so that should be it XD
