Hi Karen. With the Tiffany style shades always turn them over even if they feel like a plastic or resin. Look for Dale Tiffany signature. It's hard to find as it's usually signed ti blend in. I found one and thought it wasn't anything special but it was only 5.00 so I took it home and thought I'd eventually list it. I watched someone else and they mentioned Dale Tiffany signature and I went and looked at mine and sure enough I found the signature! I sold that shade for 175.00. LOL So now even if I'm at an estate sale I unscrew it and look under the shade for a signature. LOL. The looks I get tho. Haha.
Fun fact about Dansk pots, the lids double for a trivet. Some bring good $.
Have a great week. And thanks for another wonderful video
I love my wool dryers balls instead of tennis balls in the dryer with my comforters to keep the batting in the squares etc... decreases dry time for sheets too.
Karen- I LOVE your voiceovers! I prefer them. I rarely watch other RUclipsrs thrift unless they do voiceovers. I just love hearing your thoughts out loud. You do such a good job describing the item with key words. Great video!
Enjoy your Sunday videos!! With coffee before church!! I prefer voice overs to live video due to background noise!! Your voice is soothing to me!! Keep sharing with us!
Wool dryer balls are so effective and last till you use them. Best thing no perfumed dryer sheets.
Great video! I always learn so much from you! I love how thorough you are with your business! I will be full time reselling in July and will try to do my business fashioned after yours!! You are an inspiration!
I have always told parents of curious children they are the smartest! You are so smart!
My ex-husband does stained glass & he made me a custom Tiffany style lamp & he is shocked when he sees them in thrift stores for so inexpensive. He said it's at least 80 hours of man power & a couple hundred dollars in glass to make one. His are intricate though, & very well done. He's making me a custom window piece currently (I'm paying him to do so for me) & I cannot wait to get it! xo
Dryer balls are awesome! I stopped using fabric softener in 2014 by using them. 😊
I bought a set of 2 in Walmart about a year ago for $6. Tho the ones from Nepal may be better wool.
@@lolaseymour1532 , I ordered mine from Amazon , they have never let me down. I was just thinking I should order more. Love them! ❤️
Oh my goodness! Lol
All those crockpots. Yes, i have one.
Memories.
Love your voice-overs. Thank you for your videos.
The black and white print is an Escher. Very famous artist/printmaker. I believe 40s to 70s. Worth looking up. Not cubism.
The crazy stairs
Surrealism, I believe.
Bert and Ernie could be used for halloween, as is. Lol. 😆😉
I know I would thoroughly enjoy viewing how you shop for clothing for resale 😊 I would also like to take the opportunity to say to you how thrilled I am to have come across your channel. Though I haven’t purchased items I do enjoy watching. …Thank you a fan, Kimberly.
LOL Mellissa sure has us trained! I think of her when I see that color, too.
I really enjoy watching you shop for clothing. Thank you so much!
Have all your goodwills went online with watches? Mine have 😡 I use to find really nice old watches at mine until one day, BOOM, gone to online sales. I think that day I had eaten 5 dilly bars from DQ 😂 I was very upset lol. Another nice video, Ty for sharing
I love those dryer balls. Put a drop of fragrance oil on the ball (I use lavender) and no need for dryer sheets and the clothes smell wonderful.
I like the hard goods videos much better than clothes. Nice video. Thanks
I love my dryer balls. No longer use fabric softener or dryer sheets.
Also, I would love to watch you do a few clothing videos. Every video you make helps me learn things and I look forward to them very much.
Another great video Karen! I would like to see you thrift for clothing. I do a lot of hard goods and don’t even know where to start with clothing!
None of our thrift stores (Goodwill, Savers, Salvation Army) in Chicago sort by color, only by type of product. The items in your stores look so clean too!
Love going along with you on your thrifting adventures .. so jealous of how nicely organized your Goodwills are - ours are seriously so junky .. looking forward to the day when I am recouped from my surgery and can travel to other stores out of my area .. looking forward to your next video!
Always a good time thrifting with you. 💕💕
Hi Karen! I really enjoyed this video and I agree, people aren’t entertaining with fancy dinnerware as much as before. We seem to do a lot of buffet style with everyday pottery style plates.
I love the hard goods shopping and that you share so much info while you’re shopping but would like to see a clothing shop along if you have time. ♥️
At 17:06 the blue & white plates with the silver rim may have been "Tiffany". If you see the Tiffany blue on a piece that looks higher end, flip it over and look. Someone found a Tiffany coffee mug on another channel, the comps were around $84 for the 1 mug!
Yes! I would love a video of you going through the clothes and seeing your process on how to select what you buy! 😃👍
MCE on the artwork is M C Escher. Very well known OP ART (optical illusion) artist. His typical mass produced prints don't go for much, but if you were looking at more limited edition lithographs or something, then you may be talking about a LOT of money.
Decals were images where paper backing was rubbed off. On most pottery, transfers are printed glaze material which is low fired.
Our thrift stores separate by category. Cups, glasses, pot & pans, plates, pictures, candles......
Surprisingly a few months ago I figured out Roger’s eBay store. It’s fun to see what he sells but no worries on competition from me. 🤐
Sort by color? Wow! That would drive me crazy! And not in a good way. Love your show.
I like both. Alternating between hard goods and clothing for your videos would be a good idea. The nasal dryer balls wool are worn about $25. They work great. No more buying anti static products.
Oh my gosh! You are not going to believe it! I saw that hurricane lamp shade and thought I would Google one because I needed one. There was one EXACTLY like it new for $182 on Amazon. Just the shade! I kid you not!!! That was weird!
Love that mirror @ 7.53 !!!
Good morning Karen. I always enjoy your videos and learn so much. I would love to see you shop some clothing 😃
Hello Karen, I am glad to see shelves stocked once again. I use the lambs wool dryer-balls
usually 2pack for$30. last for a year without buying any more dryer sheets. People eat out more, not having many sit down dinners; you are wise not to pick up the plates..
THE DRYER BALLS ARE GREAT TO USE , REPLACING THE DRYER TISSUES AND MORE ENVIRONMENTLY FRIENDLY. YOU CAN DROP A FEW DROPS OF YOUR FAVORITE ESSENTIAL OILS ON EACH ONE A YOUR CLOTHES WILL HAVE THAT WONDERFUL SOFT SCENT.
Another You-Tuber I watch, shows how to restore little scratches on wooden objects, with food safe mineral oil. Turns out quite well.
I just love these "Shop with me videos"!
The voiceovers are so relaxing..especially with your nice voice.
I wish you had looked at the quilt that was behind the mirror the looked beautiful
Yes I would like to see u pick clothing. I'm trying to learn good brands. Thank u!
The stairway print is a M.C. Escher I believe.
Yes it is! One of my favorite artists and the basis of an art project I do with my students.
His style is surrealism
I really appreciate how you describe each item in detail. That must translate well in listing items and in sales. Thank you.
Hi Karen, your Goodwills are always so well organized! I have never seen our area GW stores organized by color but most of their hard good areas here are more sparse, they are mostly clothing oriented. Nice trip! Cheers, Pat
Karen, I recognize that stone house in the painting. I think it is on Rt. 23 inside Valley Forge Park. I live right by there so I've driven by it a million times.
Oh! Interesting 💜
That black and white print was a famous M.C.Escher gravure
That endless stairway print is a print of a famous drawing. It was on antiques roadshow.
I use wool dryer balls all the time. Saves drying time.
Same here! Love mine. Saves time and money not having to buy dryer sheets.
Thank you for sharing your thrift items. I learn a lot from you.
The younger generation is not interested in China dishes. They are not that interested in crystal either. But, I still sell a lot of both. It can be crazy.
Just saw your many loved videos. This morning Wed. , couldn't find it again to watch. So informative. Hauls are my favorite. Over year ago I think. You did a morning routine in hair and makeup. Could you do another one,? What products you use. !!
I like the voice overs. Another great and interesting haul.
Thank you so much as I am always learning. Picking up leather belts and realizing great profit. Many thanks for your knowledge ....
Another great vid ❤️
Craftsman Guarantee: in our town the Sears in the mall has closed, but interestingly our Lowe’s is honoring the Craftsman guarantee for items they stock, swapping out the broken unit with a new one. For items they don’t stock Sears has an on-line replacement process that I used a year ago.
So enjoy you videos!!
Hi Karen, I love the larger Goodwill stores. in Ohio items are not sorted by color. We can go thru the carts too before they put on shelves….sometimes. I remember transfers well. Some were used on cabinets in the kitchen or in the baby’s room crib etc. it was a way that made inexpensive items look nicer. I have no idea why you can’t learn all the name brands ….it’s not like you’re busy! Lol 😝
That print was M.C. Escher, a great find!
My Goodwill stores do not sort by color. My stores are very small. I have tried reselling clothing before but it is difficult finding good pieces. I love your videos and knowing that you will sometimes pick up items based off of quality vs name.
Karen, another great video I always learn something, our thrift stores have most of the goods on top of the clothing racks with a few stands off to the side that have goods. Nothings is color coded, all mixed in.
Escher still has a following
It would be fun to see what types of shells to look for if one saw a lamp. Maybe you could add that in with some photos on an upcoming video. Thank you for another fun video!
Hey sister! Great video as always!! Just wanted to say about the slag glass shade... I live in Joplin, MO and I see those in the antique stores all around here and the Branson and St Louis, MO area. They are always priced (depending on size) from $80 to $150. More ornate ones are even more.
Art was by M C Escher - That was a pretty "normal" looking piece. Check him out online.
His style for sure
In bed with Covid, and love watching something wholesome.
Someone already mentioned something similar, but I think there's less entertaining because there's less free-time. A lot of people are working seven days a week. It's really too bad.
Hey Karen 😊 I'm new to your channel (my reselling cousin shared you with me this morning)! I've watched your videos a lot today and your voice over is calming. Thanks for sharing all your work 👍 God bless you!
Yes to shopping with you for clothes!
Goodwill in my area is crummy, but somewhat organized. I would love to go to a goodwill that had such good stuff!! Always enjoy your videos.
IOD (Iron Orchard Designs) makes beautiful transfers. Many RUclips crafters feature them on their channel, even the two women (sisters) who created them.
T he Indian statue of Mather and blue child is interesting. I can’t remember what the reasoning is but there was a blue people exhibit at an Indian Festival. That was over thirty years ago in NJ. So interesting.
I love your videos.
I have that green crockpot, make chili in it all the time in cold weather.
The statue was a baby blue Krishna with his mother, maybe.
It would be great to see you thrifting for clothes as well. Please show it on video too. Loved to see the hard goods you thrifted. So much knowledge and expertise!
Hi Karen, thanks for sharing your secrets with us. It is greatly appreciated. And I am hoping more viewers start to provide positive comments or thumbs up to show we appreciate the content you create. To answer your question, stores in my area display by type of items. I think I like that more, although I sell a little of everything, I do like knowing where items are located in the store. However, the way your stores are laid out makes for a prettier presentation.
Karen thank you again for sharing your knowledge. You have helped me so much, given me greater confidence.
Could you do a video on how you spot clothing brands you like to sell? I look for fabric quality most often but I bet you have some additional tips. 😉
Speaking of March Madness . . . our Wisconsin Badgers were defeated today. Hoping that Roger's teams are doing better!
Those pretty small China-like pitches would be great for a woman's desk for small flower bouquets.
I enjoy your videos so much! Would love to see any aspect of clothing search / haul that you'd like to post!
Never a lifetime guarantee on Craftsman power tools. Manual tools still have the guarantee. My Lowes will replace like for like with Kobalt if Craftsman not available. HOWEVER, because you won't have a receipt, Lowes policy is to enter your driver's license into the national database, which flags you as a chronic returner. I spoke to a manager about it, and they did the exchange differently and I didn't have to give my DL.
Mine is in Leesburg Fl and Clermont Fl. The shelves are all bungled up. Sometimes it looks as though they stuffed some products on top of bakeware.
I am like Roger, I go through every piece in the men's clothing. In women's I just quickly scan through the racks as I pass them by. I would like to see a video of how you source the women's clothing. I am learning a lot about hard goods from you and I appreciate all you share.
MCEscher is the artist on the print you were looking at in the black frame..
You were looking at the cup because the colours were pretty!
The stone home is by a well known painter in chaddsford and surrounding area. I couldn’t catch the details on video
Dryer balls are great!! Just add a little bit of essence oil and clothes come out great! And much healthier for you!!!
the statue you picked up of mother and child is baby Krishna, a Hindu god, with mother Yoshada Murti.
I thought I recognized that little blue boy...
would love a video with you thrifting for clothes.
Clothing would be kinda cool,!!
Dryer balls are basically used to "fluff" up blankets, towels, coats, pillows, those kind of items.
Leaded glass banding: the metal banding that surrounds the glass panels and holds them in place is called CAMING. It used to all be made of lead, which is how that style work got its name, but is now also available in non-lead material, once the hazards of breathing fumes while working with lead and lead solder became known.
In Illinois, there are tow types of Good Will stores: the regular store and the "Amazing" Good Will which has a points program and much higher prices.
I believe the pottery oil lamp is Bill Campbell.
It’s possible but I didn’t see a signature.
as i mentioned on another video I live in PA, as well.
only I'm on the Southwestern side.
and wow! the difference between our (Western PA and Eastern PA) accents is pretty crazy. lol.
you sound almost New York/Jersey. over here, we (unfortunately) sound like Pittsburgh. 😆
I’m from Long Island! 😁
I love my dryer balls! They are definitely helpful in drying time. You can even put a couple of drops then throw in the dryer! Not much value.
I O D transfers are used by crafters. It is Iron Orchard Designs. They are extremely beautiful and not inexpensive. Julie from Julie’s Designs and Signs is so talented with their use.
Re March Madness...hope Roger got to see my alma mater Murray State play. Got my Masters in Ed. degree from Murray State. I watched the game they played against San Francisco. Nail biter!!!
That Pioneer Woman butter dish always does very well for me. I sold it last month for 25.00.
But I should also say, I don't sell on ebay, I sell through my own site and my audience really likes Pioneer Woman so maybe it's not a fair comparison.
