Glad you’ve got the bike back Andy. Not been back to Blaenavon yet (waiting for better ground conditions - possibly for a long time!) but it’s on the list!
Hi Andy, really pleased you’ve got the bike back. It’s clear how much you love that machine. It was great to ride with you, and maybe we’ll bump into each other again. We did do the Fan Y Big route, in the snow, as the Gap was sheet ice and impassable, so a cheeky little ride over the top but didn’t realise how challenging it was, especially the descent through the snow to Talybont reservoir. Really pleased you have the bike back..
Hi Steve. That's a nice ride up over the top and test, I bet it was tough in those conditions. A good route when it's nice is along the opposite ridge to Corn Ddu, Pen y Fan then down to the gap. Yes, very pleased to have the bike back, fingers crossed that's it for issues🤞Looking forward to getting some good rides in now to test the range. Yep, yiu never know, our paths may cross again sir 👍
Good to see evidence of good customer service. I am expecting mine at the end of March, so your comments are music to my ears. Excellent content! Thank you for sharing.
@@martinscottkent9064 Yep, can't complain, plus, I am very lucky to have Geometron 35 minutes away so it wasn't an issue dropping it off. One person commented on a previous video saying they had a similar issue and had to drive 3 hours to drop the bike off. Hopefully you don't have any issues but if you do, you are pretty local. Are you getting the bike through Geometron?
@@OldNorthern_eMTBer I am in the extreme SE of England! However the bike and the engineering appealsto me. Hey Andy, great video! Been looking at lots of EMTBs lately as I want to get back on the bike after long time away. Im 42 and unfit, hense looking at eeeebs. I can't decide on what i should go for... Amflow is too of list atm, but i do kove the MGU on this bike. Anyways, maybe when i do finally get on the bike again, we'll bump into each other and can cruise some of these trails. Im South Wiltshire, so I'll be doing some trip to FoD.
I'll start by saying that I have a 2020 Orbea Wild FS M1 (Full carbon) for sale with the range extender kit fitted and 2 extra batteries, a 500 and 400 as well as your 625,. The motor has only done 1795 miles. Plus other stuff to go with it. Its never failed me, a great bike. Vids of it available here. Yeah, the Amflow, was talking to a chap at the weekend and he was saying that yes, turned the market upside down but they are far too powerful, loads of wheel spin. I've done a few rides from Marlborough and I loved them, will definitely be back at some point. Zero Gnar just 100% ace XC riding 👌
Great to see the Nicolai back in action and a pretty prompt warranty result too. Though you really shouldn't use that much water pressure (or any) on the motor. Water ingress is a huge problem for all motors. Worth getting an SKS Dirtboard to protect the front of the motor casing from mud and spray as well. Simple effective & 10 quid. That pinion warranty won't last forever.
@@BillyBob-ri9pm Water. ... Pressure? It was a garden hose so I'm not worrying about it but thanks anyway. Yep, Pinion were on the case asap so can't fault them. Let's hope thsts it for mgu issues 🤞
Nice one Andy Boi. Good to see the new bike back out again. Plan on going up to FOD tomorrow as I have the day off work and have never ridden there before. Plan on doing mainly on piste stuff but what off piste trail (if I plan on doing just the one) would you recommend? Cheers, Prof D.
@@belowaveragemountainingbik7279 Hi Prof, you'll enjoy the FoD of Dean. As for what off-piste trails, it's tricky to explain where they are seeing as you are not familiar with the area. Basically, when you leave the carpark and head up to the skills area, you turn left, follow the trackway, over a metalled road then about 2/300 meters on your right you'll see a track going up. Go up there and they are up there. I'm sure there will be people heading there as its popular so just tag along. Sorry for not being much help. It would be like me trying to ask where some of those Cwmcarn runs are which I'd lije to do. Go steady and enjoy 👌👍
Hi Andy. How do you rate the resistance in the MGU vs. your Orbea with Bosch gen.4 motor? Especially above the assist speed of 25km/h or without motor assistance? I tested the MGU in August 2024. And experienced that it had a lot of resistance at the above mentioned. My experience base is Shimano EP8. I hope/believe that it was/is possible to do something about the experienced resistance via software.
@@peterhowse6237 Yep, game changing motor with old drivetrain tech bolted to it 🤦🏻♂️Doh! I don't think we'll be seeing an Atherton eeeB MGU for a few years yet but an Atherton eeeB will arrive at some point for sure 👍
How is the range on the Nicolai? I'm from the States, sonot available here yet. Can you get a good long day in the saddle without too much range anxiety? Personally, I have less range anxiety on my Bosch-powered Cannondale Moterra than I do on my Specialized Turbo levo comp carbon (750wh vs 700wh, but the Levo weighs 7 lbs less).
Hello Tony over there in the New World! Glad you are watching the videos 👍 Please be aware that this reply comes with a 25% Trump tariff applied to it💲 I've not had chance top do a proper range test ride yet but I have a few things planned in the pipeline so stay tuned. I had no range issues with my Bosch Orbea Wild FS as I had the range extender kit and had a spare 500 & 400wh external batteries for it but I was sick of drivetrain issues, hence the MGU. When will the Nicolai's be arriving over there, well, that's assuming Europe isn't hit with Trump tariff and Europe hits back 🤭😂 Stay tuned because I really need to get a good range tester in the bag 👍
