Thank you for your comment.Robin is really a genius, one of the most important people on this planet ... humanist, poet, musican, bard and much more. Best regards Erwin
your man is a genius In the ISB he was one of the greatest Scotsmen ever to make music. Since their descent he has almost singlehandedly kept alive the ancient bardic tradition of Scotland. the divil has aw the best tunes. Give the man his due.
This man is seriously beyond talented, He has created such incredible sounds and melodies throughout his long career. Thank you so much Austrianharp for this unique upload!
I am truly appalled! I used to be such an admirer of Robin Williamson's vocals, especially in the days of the Incredible String Band. Now it seems he can hardly sing at all. A really embarrassing performance! And on top of that, he trashes a classic Dylan song!
"And here's some brief chat while I continue to simultaneously play beautiful harp with genius virtuosity." The man is amazing. I covered First Girl I loved and October Song and was so proud of myself for getting even remotely close to anything ISB. He's a real quality writer and performer. I would've loved to see him and Bert Jansch touring together.
There is a story, possibly apocryphal, about a drunken evening when Williamson & Jansch discussed playing together. The conversation turned to naming the venture and The Impenetrable String Tangle was suggested... I hope it's true.

Yes yes yes yes yes...
Wonderful. An artist, Bard, and Storyteller. One of a kind!
I heard the ISB for the first time in 2015. I was amazed! That summer it felt like I'd found something magical
I sat on this man's knee twice
once i was a baby and the second time I was 2 and I remember cuddling him all afternoon

Danke für den Kommentar. Liebe Grüße aus Österreich E.D.
Gern geschehen, Grüße aus Köln@@Austrianharp
he plays harmonic chord like fifths etc to enhance the tune. As a matter of fact He makes it into a Tune indeed.
Might be the best cover of this song.
Robin is the first and only harpist I've seen use a thumb pick. I think I'll try it, too.
Robin is the latest and very true Bard of his Culture, as in Druidic Bards go.
I love the harp, such a majestic instrument, and what a talented musician, and love his interpretation of this classic and favorite song.
Thank you for your kind comment. ED
Plays harps better than guitar and guitar better than tha harp-so it's believed.
Thank you and "Be glad for the song has no ending"
Nice version! Never imagined it being played on the harp!!

A great thing to say about him
Definitely quite good :o)
Dylan's great, but he's constantly hiding himself/trolling his audiences, i.e., bullshitting. Robin? Never.
He makes Dylan sound like Bach.
I am bewildered to find that I experienced this to be a harp piece far more beautiful before the song began.
HE a cuddly and sweet to talk too ! His story telling in Kingsbridge i adored!
Absolutely brilliant.
An interesting approach.

Brilliant Robin, always!
I can't believe this exist! I feel like my whole life has been leading up to this moment! Incredible!

He sure has the knack of that harp, what did he say there about Limerick?
Thank you for your comment! No Limerick .. just joking that Dylans song is "quit good" :)
Incomparable !

I saw those guys way back in the 1960s at the Church of Scientology in NYC of all places.
Fantastic

I hope it's true.
First Girl I loved is a beautiful song.
I hope Bob Dylan can pause for a few seconds and stop signing his thousands of prints and listen to this!
thank you for your comment!
that certainly is the ISband treatment style
THE BEST PLAYING THE BEST!
bring it on joanna newsom
Beautiful.
thank you
Bloody awful....recite the words badly and add a harp...
xyzian - Yes, but he's in the position he can do it whilst some can't...
@xyzian - very true, the word abysmal springs to mind.
