  • Our first Supper Club for 2023 brings us to Beloit, Wisconsin. This supper club is about 1 hour from downtown Madison or Milwaukee and about 15 minutes from Janesville.
We had reservations on Saturday night at 5:00pm for 4 people. We arrived about 15 minutes early and found a seat at the bar. Check in was easy and we were told to come back to the hostess desk at 5:00pm to get seated in the dining room.
Breadbasket included dinner rolls, cinnamon rolls, grissini breadsticks and saltine crackers.
    Appetizer:
    • Escargot De Jonghe
    Dinners were:
    • Prime Rib with baked potato and salad
    • Ribeye with potato au gratin, Baked French Onion Soup
    • New York Strip and 5 shrimp skewer, potato au gratin, Baked French Onion Soup
    • New York Strip and 5 shrimp skewer, potato au gratin, Lobster/Seafood Bisque
After dinner we went back to the bar/lounge area for the Live music by Mike Williamson.

I would have loved to have shared the music in the video, but I didn’t want any copyright issues.
The drink menu had a good variety of after dinner drinks and several ice-cream drinks. John tried the Andies Candies.
We do recommend you try this place if you haven’t already. We really enjoyed the ambiance and the Live music.

A blast from my childhood past! I grew up about 3 miles away...my folks were friends with the original owners and we ate there a lot. Back in the day "supper clubs" and steakhouses were the norm. The Butterfly was definitely high end, relatively speaking. Coats and ties for men, cocktail dresses for the ladies, kids were allowed but not exactly encouraged (and were expected to behave and be quiet!). They even had dancing. My folks loved the place. I don't think this is the original building, that or it's been totally remodeled, which makes sense after 60 years or so.

Thanks for sharing Michael. I don't think there are many restaurants that have coat rooms anymore. We really enjoyed everything about this place.

I have never seen a Wisconsin supper club that didn't have an old heavy wooden squeaky front door
