  • Lots of snow, needs to be gone! But can winter please wait till later November? Camera gear is always changing and on the farm you must come up with ways to handle the destructive environment.

    Hope you getting moisture and the snow is worth while. In The Panhandle we got our first moisture since First of July. We got 2" on our North section to 6.5" on the south section. This will help fill our soil profile for next summer crops. We might have a climate change as Friday we are getting our first freeze, a week or two early. We have to harvest corn and cotton and plant winter wheat...so please wait until Christmas here.

    As a farmer and Loctite salesman you did a couple things wrong. 1st you didn’t use actual LOCTITE brand product. Email me @ Marcus.kloepping@henkel.com and I will solve that. 2nd is on a blind hole application you want to put the LOCTITE into the blind hole versus on the male threads. The air in the blind hole will push the thread locker out of the threads as you tighten the thread and compress the air at the bottom of the blind hole. Love your go pro rig. I am going to copy it. Hope this latest blizzard didn’t get your power.

    We are expecting our first snow tomorrow in Denver. News is saying 2-4 inches so where I am it's usually doubled. I honestly don't mind the snow, I just hate driving in it because there are a lot of people who move here that have no clue how to drive in snow. October isn't early for snow for us. We can get snow in August through June. It's just something you get used to.

    maby you should dig a trench where the water normaly runs. then put some concrete in the trench so it wont get bigger and put some grating on it so water can drain away from your property without flooding your yard area and still being able to drive over it with grating and covering the entire lenght with maby some solid concrete slabs covering the channel every now and then so the big machines can cross it without breaking it. i know it is unrealistic but it would help with the snow melting and creating a small river right through the property

    What sort of soil moisture/rainfall equivalents can you get from a typical snow melt? Significant enough a good snow could make or break a year?

    • @RobertWelkerFarmerBob
      @RobertWelkerFarmerBob 5 лет назад +1

      We usually get about 5" to 8" of powdery snow or maybe .75" for the accumulation. But we've had significant more the last couple of years. This snowfall was early and wet which added to the soil profile before soil freeze up. Most of the total will be available for next years crop and will help in making a crop. We usually don't figure on much moisture from snowfall.
