.....Hello Eelke.....I watch a lot of orchid channels, but when yours comes on......I turn off my computer, and go sit in my den with a 72" flat screen, and watch your videos there ......its like walking around with you in your beautiful grow room......I can almost detect the scent of those beautiful blooms..
....Your channel offers so many great growing moments.....your net pot ideas, the media you choose, your moss on the top, fans running to move air, etc etc...and you explain why your doing... what you do.....
.....It really made me smile to see your catasetums with strong new shoots and no shriveled decimated older bulbs.....proof ....that you dont have to kill last years growth to get new ones....so many bad myths still being pushed with that orchid species.....all your plants speak loudly for themselves!......always a treat to see your orchid garden!

Master grower, Eelke! 😉🙌 Beautiful blooms! And yes, that was me cringing over a net pot full of roots snaking in and out. 😵‍💫😆 I am getting over it though after seeing your videos... the tremendous amount of roots that are produced, and that the plant CAN afford some loss. Bottomline! A bit more time involved in cutting the pot off, but that's really ok.
I was wanting to send you an email after the last mention of roots rotting on some orchid types and switching to net pots, but didn't get to it. I'll do that now. Thank you for bringing this up again Eelke! 🙏😃❤️

Haha Lol, crying about it. Well, it is a good point! It is not as easy to repot them for sure…
And thank you for your email. I will respond asap! Thank you also for all the support and great comments, I love them! :D happy growing!

    Hello EJ,
    I am Dana.
Nice video. Thanks' for the updates, ideeas and thoughts😊.
I am happy that the Final Blue flowered for you, and that you like it.
I did not forget about the other plants you wished for. We started to renovate the apartment. almost 1 year ago, and unfortunately our (ex)worker managed to cover all my orchids with a generous layer of very alkaline dust. I was out of town, so I couldn't wash them immediately....And he did it twice.
    All plants were affected.
The seedlings and the miltoniopsis were the most damaged ones.
Some were lost for good, others are recovering, but it will take time until I will dare to devide them again...
    Anyway, we keep in touch😊
    Dana

Of course, Dana! I am so bad with names, sorry!
Thank you so much for the update, I might have a few orchids in the meantime that I did ask a division for. So maybe if some are ready to be split, email me first? …The final blue is stunning! I enjoy it very much! Thank you so much again for the offer. I really hope your orchids will be back to growing soon. So sorry to hear that they have been true a lot, I am sure they will recover well in your care! Good luck and happy growing! :D

Nice update. Hope your Tolumnias do well in the new setup. Your Miltonias are gorgeous specimens.🤩 And wow! Your Ludisia is so lush and vigorous. Sadly, I struggle with mine. Sorry about your Zygos. I have a mix of Zygos that get spots and some that don't. Hopefully you're able to determine the cause. 🤞

Hey EJ 👋 I just bought Final Blue yesterday! Our lowes have gotten in bag babies first time in a decade! 🤣 and it was one of them. Its a 2 year plant. Potted in 2022. I have gotten 2 different bunches of orchids now from 2 different lowes. Im very excited!
I too struggle with spots on zygos. I think it maybe part of them dying out. Cant say for certain. I have had the discussion with Rick L. Maybe he can do some research on it for us. 🤣 i would listen to him otger than ramblings of other's.

The final blue is beautiful! It was a gift from a subscriber, and it is amazing. It grows very easy, so maybe next year you might have blooms. And they do show up almost blue. Beautiful! O and yes, please ask Rick! I did get some info on what might be the problem, but nobody is really sure yet it seems. So, Ricks input on it would be GREAT! :D Thank you so much for watching and I will go over and watch your unboxing now! :D

Hi Paula, I just read your comment after firing off Eelke an email. Here's my experience these past few years of growing zygos. On my Zygos, only the leaves on older backbulbs, not long for this world, have developed a little bit of spotting. I've only bothered to spray Physan 20 on a few zygos that were received in very poor condition, but now growing clean. This bit of spotting on older pseudobulbs I thought was part of the dying off leaves as well. The newer growth leaves are all pristine so I didn't fuss about it. It will be interesting to hear what Rick says. Thanks Paula!

my Zygos grow without spots and I don't know why they grow spot free for me but not other people. I wish I could tell you the magic trick, but people that grow them the same way as me also have spots. I would say temperature, but the ones outside that get both quite cool and quite hot are spotless the same as the ones inside that get constant temps.

    • @TheOrchidSaGa
      @TheOrchidSaGa  2 месяца назад +1

That is how the Zygos should be grown! I never could agree with lots of people that just say that Zygos ‘like’ to do that, growing these spots. But it is not right… So, this means I have work to do! I am happy to know that it can be done. I would have been a bit easier if you knew the magical trick LOL.. But maybe we can figure it out this way, bits and pieces of information. Putting it all together and who knows…. :D Thank you so much!

@@TheOrchidSaGa oh well thank goodness tomfumby is here to help you. I'm shocked that he says it is bug related and to know it happens more outdoors. I must live in a magic place that is free from bugs. Yes, we have no bugs in Florida. (this is me saying don't listen to him, he is wrong)

@@tomfurmby88 I don't insult orchid growers, just the one that thinks he knows that every orchid problem is bug related and blast their nonsense on every channel because they got kicked off of every orchid board for their garbage attitude.
I admit that I don't know why some orchid growers get spots on their Zygos. I DO KNOW that it ISN'T more common outdoors since exactly ZERO of mine have it. There is some OTHER cultural issue because if it was bugs, as you claim, SOME of mine would surely suffer from it.
I would ask what is wrong with you that if you know SOOOOOOO much more than everyone, why aren't you making videos or posting your plants SOMEWHERE? See, I don't think you actually have any, I think you are full of 💩

@@michaelmccarthy4077 I do have my zygos next to my Milotoniopsisses that had/or have spider mites. So I did check my zygos, I couldn’t find any but to be safe I did spray them. Next time I will spray them with Physan 20. That’s to only fungicide that I currently have. Maybe a spray every week for the next 3 weeks? …
