I REALLY appreciate the explanations and verbal descriptions for the signs. I wish you were my teacher.
Great signer. Great mum. There should be more like you in the world. Thank you from Finland Deafie xx
Just started watching a show called Switched at Birth where many characters are Deaf. Thank you for making this instructional video as we as a family want to learn. You have a beautiful family. Thank you again!
Thank you for speaking and signing so clearly!
Soooo very glad you provide a description of the sign (boy: like grabbing for baseball cap). That better helps me to remember the sign. Thank you!
This is one of the best signing videos I've seen so far. Thank you!
Just found your channel. I really appreciate how you explain
So glad you found us. :)
Sharing this with my Sign Ministry group. Thank you.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who signs left-handed. Not that it matters, but it's great to learn from somebody like me.
Thank you for these videos. You making learning ASL so easy . I really enjoy these. Thank you soooo much!
Glad you like them!
this is excellent can now do basic sign language with ease. thank you
I need a lot of those signs for family to let my deaf puppy know who is who!
I really loved that video. Thanks for the great guide.
Thank you. I am taking ASL 1 and most videos are non verbal. I understand why but with just learning it is easier for me to pick up like this.
I see this video was made some years ago -- how is Matthew now? You said he "can't talk" -- he is talking really well with his hands --and his mouth! Good job!!!
He’s doing really well! We can barely get him to stop talking 😂 ASL was a great foundation
I love your video ! Thank you so much! Your children are adorable 😘
+terejp22 I'll make sure to tell them. :) They really are great! And they've gotten so much bigger since we made those videos. :) Thanks for the comment!
I love your video. You are a good teacher!!!
Thanks! Glad the videos helped you!
I love that cute, sweet little boy. How long is he been doing a sign for
Matthew is so cute
It helps me a lot. :-) Thanks.
+Cathy Doronio Glad it was helpful for you! Keep watching and be sure to share with anyone who might be learning.
I sure will. I've recommended this to my classmate because it was really worth watching and I'm sure they'll learn from this. Hehehe! Thanks anyway. Godbless
Your son is adorable.
Aww thanks. That is so nice of you. He is a sweet boy.
@@EricBuffington Yes i am slowly learning myself but i keep on forgetting. How long did it take you to learn?
Thanks for helping me out. I'm still learning but i know i can do it.
PS: I'm still a kid
You can do it!
Im right handed but im more comfortable sogning with my left hand. Is that some ok though?
As long as you are consistent with one dominant hand doing the signs it is generally okay. Switching back and forth can be confusing.
Same, I'm a lefty but I got most comfortable signing right-handed. I just stay mindful not to switch between hands in conversation, as long as you stick with one hand so whomever you're signing to can follow either hand is fine
Great video! But I believe mother and father are meant to be signed just to the side of where you had them not right in the centre if you see what I mean. However anyone fluent in ASL feel free to correct me if I'm wrong!
It is typically done in one of two ways. Either on the side, as you said, or in the center and you turn your head slightly to the side, as demonstrated in the video so the other person can see your mouth as you speak. That's a good point! Thanks!
Eric Buffington Thanks for clarifying!
Thx I want to lurn asl
Great! I'm glad this helped you. These are very basic beginner lessons, so a good place to start! Good luck!
make sure you wiggle your "i love you" back and forth like how your son signed it. it isn't stationary :)
Thanks for the tip!
Cool
Nationality ??
Are sign language using the same signs all over the world?
Worakamol Bongkotmalee No. there are several different sign languages that are used. This is American Sign Language (ASL) Some signs are used universally, but there are differences in all types.
No, there are more than 300 "sign languages." If you realize that these are LANGUAGES, you will know that your question is like asking "Do people all over the world speak the same language?" ;-).
Ok good super
it's kind of confusing on some of the words
Elder sister and Younger Brother signs🤔
My brother has autism and can't talk 😓😢
That is a big challenge. Hopefully ASL might help to reach him. It did for our son. :) Good luck. All our love.
So the sign for "grandma" is the same as the sign for "dislike/detest"? Lol
Um no Dislike is signed with your middle finger and thumb on your chest with the rest of your fingers apart. You touch your thumb and middle finger to your chest then pull away while bringing those 2 fingers together to create an o shape then opening those 2 fingers like you are dropping the thing in front of you. Its convulted to type out but no they arent similar at all
oooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
Your E is wrong "Your hand has to be more closed"
As someone who is deaf, no the sign for E is correct.
Rosie The Budgeter wait your deaf ?
AnimeFreak unknown yes
With it closed or not they are both correct. ASL has dialects just like any other language.
your backround is too dark. thanks
