    【 Ruyi's Royal Love in the Palace】
In the first half of the 18th century, the Qing Dynasty ushered in the era of the last longevity emperor. The flourishing Hongli (Wallace Huo) officially ascended the throne and was named Qianlong. At the same time, side Fu Jin Ruyi (Zhou Xun) who has known each other since childhood and is on a blind date with Hongli, also comes to the palace to confer the title of Princess Xian. Suddenly at the core of the political struggle, the two people gradually feel a huge sense of tear. The emperor and Princess Xian supported each other and moved forward and backward together, finally clearing the obstacles one by one. It seems that everything is beautiful for Ruyi to be promoted to a queen, but on the bumpy road, the mature and experienced emperor has been in harmony with his old love.

@Sribas Chowdhury True, to some extent. However, in terms of historical accuracy, particularly in the depiction of Empress Fucha and to some extent, Consort Ling, Yanxi Palace outranks Ruyi. Ruyi portrayed Empress Fucha as a calculating villain while Yanxi Palace portrayed her as a kind, frugal empress, as true to official Qing records. Consort Ling wouldn't have died a disgraceful death like in Ruyi since she consistently had the Emperor's favor. Otherwise, she wouldn't have accompanied him on numerous excursions and achieved the position of Imperial Noble Consort. It's also likely that Empress Nara wasn't as benevolent as Ruyi portrayed her, but I doubt she was a ruthless, scheming villain as Yanxi Palace made her out to be. Quite simply, she was just a woman with human feelings of jealousy and resentment who was stuck in the imperial harem.

@min yoongi's house cleaner you're not wrong, however I think Ruyi royal love is the more accurate drama. I don't think Ruyi was totally innocent either. But i can bet that the real Qianlong most likely loved empress Nara the most. In history it is said that Qianlong only took her as queen because of his mother. But that can't be possible. Because prior to that Ruyi was promoted way too rapidly. Also he made ruyi imperial consort and manager of the harem just a while after Fucha's death. He also made ruyi empress just two years after Fucha's death.
Also technically Ruyi should've been killed or even deposed completely when she cut her hair. But he didnot kill her and he let her keep her empress title. Nara was still empress though only in name. Consort ling was managing the harem yes, but she was still under Nara. Also the fact that Nara's real life child Yongqi was actually the emperor's favorite child and in fact Nara's child would've been the next emperor had he not died at 25.
Also the emperor must have really loved Ruyi for him to erase all her records from history but still keep certain important facts.
Again, after Nara's death it took Qianlong 25yrs+ to get another queen. It was only after Qianlong retired that he named consort ling empress. Most likely to give legitimacy to ling's son who was the chosen heir apparent.

@@thaothelazycat930 history is written by the victor. Fucha may not have been as kind as history potrays her we will never know. Fucha was a Manchurian from a very influential family, she had alot of the court ministers and people behind her. So we can't be absolutely sure she was as innocent as history potrays her. For consort ling, i genuinely don't think she was as bad as the movie "Ruyi" potrays her. But even if she was that bad, her son became emperor, all those details could've been covered. Also i feel bad for the real consort ling, it seems like the emperor didnot really appreciate her. She seemed more like some sort of sex toy that the emperor's favorite. Consort ling gave birth to alot of children in real life and seemed to spend much time with Qianlong especially in his bed or quarters. And yet her rise to power wasn't so rapid. Also Qianlong seemed to have adored other consorts like Jia and especially Rongpei as compared to or more than ling. Also, after Nara's death, it took Qianlong over 25yrs to proclaim ling as empress and even that its pretty clear it had alot to do with giving her son legitimacy. Also, when Qianlong retired, ling should've been given the title empress dowager but she wasn't. Ling's son had to wait for his father to die before granting his mother such a posthumous title. So i dunno, it doesn't look like ling was that favored. I think the favored ones were Fucha, Nara and Rongpei. However for his love story with Nara's we wouldn't know because he destroyed all her records...
However I think the fact that Nara's child is said to have been his favorite or most cherished. And the fact that he didn't kill or depose her despite her having "cursed" him and his mother. Also Nara's rapid rise into power as well as the fact that he didn't take any other reigning queen consort from the time of Nara's death till he was very ill and about to till is very telling. I'm pretty sure that had Nara's records not been destroyed there's a lot we would've found out. But its funny that he preferred to keep her as empress while destroying all her records.

@@angelandi5140 You do present an interesting thesis about Empress Nara. But I don't think the officials would muddle history that much just because Empress Fucha's clan has a lot of power in the court. Historians are under a contract to record the palace histories objectively, though like you said, reality is not always the case. Still not to the extent of fabricating an entire personality out of an evil Empress. Soften some negative parts of her personality, more likely. Also, as for Consort Ling, I don't think the Emperor degraded her that badly, but she didn't become Empress until Jiaqing granted her the title because Qianlong had to take political considerations into account. Before being a husband and father, he is an Emperor. And he can't just promote her as the Empress or Empress Dowager because she came from a lowborn family. If he did, then the court officials would be up in arms about it. So Jiaqing had to wait until Qianlong died to promote his mother to Empress. Only then could such promotion be justifiable because it was an act of "filial piety." As for Qianlong favoring Empress Nara's son, I think it had to do more with his status of being the legitimate heir as the Empress's son than on any personal affection. (Also, Rongpei's existence is not confirmed in history, so that doesn't factor into your argument.) And whether a concubine or empress was favored had little to do with their moral character and more on the Emperor's whims at that time. An emperor could favor evil concubine over a benevolent concubine. Also, the Emperor is not a moral judge who determines which concubine has his favor. If anything, he had to consider politics above everything else.

This chic is crazy, first she left her old relationship behind when she seduces the emperor and becomes his concubine! She even tore him down implying he could not give her all the things she would desires! She isn’t allowed to control someone else, especially when she can’t control herself!!!!!!

That woman is jealous and starts causes trouble for ruyi and ling and spreading things that ruyi and ling had something going on together and that is why the emperor was angry and jealous of ling all ling did was protect ruyi but that is what jealous talk does cause harm and even death and that is why the emperor and empress draw apart because of the spreading of evilness of one woman
