Just a quick note with the Virso M2, at 11:42 it's not a problem with the wind screen, you muted the transmitter by pressing the power button. When muted, the transmitter displays a solid red light. And the sound quality had that hissing noise because your camera preamps were not set correctly, I have noticed that the Virso System needs you to lower the preamps at least to -6db. But yeah, the review stays the same... good sound, bad design. The main benefit of that systems is that you can store internal recording as WAV files into microSD cards, with the Rode system you need to use the app to export a proprietary file extension to WAV. Hope you find this comment helpful. Have a nice one!

Great video, Anthony! Super detailed and a great comparison of the key features and also gripes with each mic! This video deserves more views!
As a bit of feedback, if you care (😅), I'd recommend redoing your thumbnail but with you holding all the actual products - the current one makes it look like you dont actually have all the products and you're just talking about them, whereas if you had a picture of you holding all the actual products, someone thinking about clicking on the video immediately knows you're going to be testing the actual products - i think it would make a big difference on the CTR.
Also - I also have the Godox Verso S M2, and when you moved the wind muff, you pressed the power button/dial, which acts as a mute button for the mic, so it actually wasn't anything to do with the 3.5mm jack. I agree though that it's a pretty bad design of the deadcat attachment and the mute button is wayyyy too easy to press accidentally!
Thanks again for a great video! 👌

Great review, I am new and looking at the different options. The DJI and Hollyland look great, but that Synco G2 is less than 1/2 the price of those kits, that is huge for a beginner. I see you on not having onboard recording, but for my use case (start up channel, interior recordings only, using the wired lav mic to a phone) they seem like a much more cost effective play.

Great review. I find the Rode pricing insane . Here in South africa 🇿🇦 Rode wireless go ii with the case purchased separately =$574 and the Rode Pro = R634 today as per EX Rates. Hollyland offers much more at the better quality. The rode wireless go ii without the case costs more already.

Nice job Anthony. Lot of works to put this comparison together. I have the Rode and DJI products. I like the DJI best, accessing the onboard recordings from the transmitters are so much easier, as computer (ipad or iphone) recognizes the transmitter as a drive - with Rode have to access recordings via Rode app and handling data files is much more cumbersome.

Wish DJI would make a 3.5MM plug in like the Boya Boyalink has. Checkout the Comica Vimo S mics. They're the Airpods design you want. The mics are great too. I have them & use them along with the DJI mics.

I bought the Virso and suffered with the accidental pause due to the very sensitive botron. Today Godox support sent me a Firmware V1.56 and the accidental pause has been solved. I am happy with the result. Now I have combined the virso with the VDS-M2 shotgun microphone. If you have the Virso's you can still order the new firmware.

DJI had a presence in the lows during your 170-yard test that was pleasing to the ears. Rode was a little harsh in the highs to me through my Yamaha H7's. Godox needs to hang it up. Synco and Hollyland last pics for me.

Your review helped me sort out what concerns me about some of these and what features would be beneficial. I would like to know how you use the onboard recording. 1) Rode Wireless PRO being GHz,will our mobiles,wi-fi interference with it's signals, so that the voice gets affected?( Not saying about feed back, but about interference from other signals )
    2) Can Rode Wireless PRO receiver be connected directly to the sound amplifier or is it possible only through a mixer ?

Just bought the Synco G2 and while it might not have a lot of features or onboard recording, I love how simple and easy it is to use. Not only that, the recordings sound great! Maybe if I get more serious about content creation, I will go with something like the Rode Wireless Go 2, but for right now, I am happy with the Synco.

@@DLlama Yeah! So far its been great to me. Haven't used it a whole bunch, but when I do use it, it serves its purpose just fine. I still want to get a Rode lav mic to use with it though, but even then, the lav mics that come with the Synco are good enough to get the job done.

32bit only works with recorders that can take that! Cameras can't handle sound at that level of detail!
But you cand record internally (in the receiver) in 32 bit and then do the sync with the camera scratch sound

Interestingly, your video made me choose synco. One thing you didn't mention was the price. Synco costs almost half, with audio quality very close to the best, it is easy to use and does not have the fatal flaws of Godox. It also has the best solution for the case among those presented. Here in Brazil, equipment is very expensive and contractors pay little, so Synco makes a lot of sense.

We combined Rode Lavaliere 2 mics with the DJI mic set. The sound is warm, full, and rich, and we don't have that transmitter on the shirt look. The low profile of the Lav 2 is great, and the front facing capsule helps smooth out side-to-side movement of a talking subject. The Lav mics are not cheap, but they do sound great for the price.
