The battery is fairly useless in this, unless you keep a charger on it. Might as well not bother installing the battery. It's easy enough to start using the pull-start anyway.
@thomasdecato9786 I think it is a combination of it being a cheap battery, and they aren't used very often. So unless you're going to keep a charger on it, just use the pull start, it starts fine every time on pull start.
Thanks so much for this video. We bought one of these in 2020 and yesterday was our first long power outage (thankfully only 7hrs). I'm learning today how to get this thing up and running in case the power goes out again. Someone needs to know so might as well be me.
Just bought mine today also. When I have the eco off it runs great but when I turn eco on it has a little surge issue. Very slight but enough to notice. I bought the 2 yr warranty so I'm safe anyway.
Any QT / Quik Trip has it (I am in Atlanta GA though) . And many other common fuel retail stores offer it. Sure, you can use Stabil. I just prefer non-eth in anything that is not used often.

Why is that is there something drawing down the battery?, I was thinking of getting one and installing remote start for my off grid camp.

I just purchased a back up 3500, and wanted to say thank you for the refresher! Great video!

@PattyLU2 the battery is not very good in it. So pull-starting it is probably your best option as far as making it run.
@@HorsepowerHouse thank you! It's probably better to rely on the manual start anyway like with everything now-a-days 🙄
Just bought one for our camper, great video.
Awesome video
Great video. I just got one today. Thanks
Very informative, Thank you.
Great video bought mine today
Dont bother installing the battery. Pointless.
Thanks for the video helped me out for the setup

Mine went out after 120 days....due to carbon monoxide sensor....and it's outdoors 😢
I buy the one year warranty and every year I exchanged my generator for a new one.
Where did you find non ethanol gas? Can you just use unleaded gas then add the stabilizer?

You can buy non-eth fuel at Home Depot and Lowe's as well. In the chainsaw / weedeater section of the store.
Will this 3500 run 2 freezers
Great review. Thanks

Look up the watts that each freezer pulls.
Pull starts very easy, will not push start with the button. Battery is hooked up, any thoughts?
@@williamallan4735 don't bother with the battery. I don't even use it. It doesn't stay charged long enough to bother with. Just use the pull start.
And what do you mean by use stabilizer with gas?
Fuel Stabilizer. Sta-Bil. Put it in fuel for any vehicle that is not used regularly. amzn.to/3RHGLvP
@@HorsepowerHouse ok thank you a lot, I’m using it for my detailing business so i will be using generator a lot. E87 fuel is ok to use right?
@@Kbsdeluxedetailing any fuel you want to put in it is fine - except diesel.
@@HorsepowerHouse ok thank you a lot bro.
My generator already came with oil ? Is that normal
@@fredycontreras2269 was probably a return
How much oil do we have to put in like how do we know it’s enough?
Because it has a dipatick that tells you when it's enough. And then owners manual that comes with it does as well.
I just got mine but is it true that i need to run it for 8 hours and then change the oil?
It's good to run it for a little while and change the oil for the first time. Same with any small engine.
@@HorsepowerHouse thanks
