Clearly my daughter in Seattle will have a mom visit end of July, beginning of August next year! I’ll be going to the Shenandoah Fiber Festival in Sept and taking a drop spindle class. I’m curious to play around with spinning a bit.

I always double-strand the heels and toes of my 100% non-superwash sock yarn with left over silk mohair bits. I also use wool/mohair blends for durability, when I can find them.

So excited to see your Paul Klee! I've had that sweater in mind for over a year and finally started spinning lots of types of bumps of different Canadian fibres for mine! Will take some time but its such a fun and exciting project.

Hi, it's May here (@aiya_knits) - it was so nice meeting you on Saturday! That crochet quilt blanket at Botanical Yarn's booth totally caught my eye, too. What a huge labor of love to finish a piece like that

I loved hearing about your flock experience! A few of my favorite dyers were there (including Woolberry) so I was a little bummed in not going this year... hopefully next year! Lovely yarn haul, too 🙂

I was so happy to see you at Flock! I was so star-struck; thanks for being so gracious and chatting with me! I am also so glad to have met your wonderful mom.
I love your thoughtful approach to acquisitions. It's very inspiring, and I hope to be more deliberate in my purchases next year. Thanks for another wonderful video!

it was so nice meeting up with you at flock and spending some time there together! :) I was also very drawn to the san juan labels and now wish I would've gotten another local and/or colorful wool to practice my spinning with too!
loved the way you layed out your thoughts about flock and your acquisitions as well

I wonder if you can find Tukuwool sock where you live. Here many local wool producers have a non superwash sock yarn with nylon/poluamide or tencel spun into it. Not as hardwearing as a commercial superwash sock yarn, but better than 100% wool i suppose! 😊

They might have it at my local yarn store! I know they carry tukuwool fingering, I'll have to check next time I'm there. Thanks for the suggestion!

Knowing you liked the crochet blanket you may like the Heriloom Quilt Cardigan by Katryn Seeburger. It was just released and I'm obsessed!

Wait…what is Seattle shaped like?😂. Seriously, I wish I had a transit system to utilize. It would open up a whole world to me. Public transportation not only is better for the environment, but for the blind too. Keep doing the work you do so disabled people and the planet have better futures💗

kind of like a coke bottle! public transit is so important for everyone, and there will always be more work for me to do to make it better!

I would try a local yarn store! some of my favorites are Acorn Street Shop, the Fiber Gallery, and Tea Cozy Yarn Shop, but there might be one closer to where you live! Most shops usually offer classes.
