- Hey y’all! Today’s video is the first of my 2020 holiday series, Holiday Fixings! Creamed peas is such an easy and delicious side dish. A lot of people have them on their holiday table, but you definitely don’t have to wait until the holidays to eat them. They are so good with many different dishes!

Ingredients:
4 tablespoons of salted butter
1/4 cup flour
2 cups of milk
1 cup of heavy whipping cream
1 bag frozen peas 12-13 oz
2 tablespoons sugar (or to taste)
1/2 teaspoon black pepper (to taste)
1/4 teaspoon salt (to taste)

Thanks for sharing This recipe. My Mom , Granny and Aunt used to make these peas 🫛 and we called them English Peas they were delicious we always had them with Chicken 🍗 or Turkey 🦃 and dressing. My cousin and I will make them for Thanksgiving. We was not for sure how the thickness was made. Thanks again. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

my family does it very close to this. BUT NEVER SUGAR.. BUT WE USE 2 CANS LESURE PEAS (DRAINED)

I haven’t had creamed peas since I was a kid. Mom would add onion and baby potatoes. So good!

We serve this in summer over new baby red potatoes that have been boiled or steam, along with salmon patties. Really good

I just made salmon patties, then I remembered that my mom always made cream pea and mashed potatoes. I’m saving this video and will have a one of my favorite dinners my made for me when I was a kid . Thank you !!!

I’ve never had creamed peas ! But I’ve had cream corn I think I will add a little sugar along with the salt and pepper so it can be sweet I like my peas sweet.

No chicken stock in this recipe? It looks delicious I remember my momma making this it was delicious I can't remember how she made it she taught me how to be an amazing cook but this is the one thing I never learned how to make even though it's an easy recipe 😢 I sure miss my momma 😢❤❤

@@CookinWTaShondaRenae she made them homemade and I was too young to learn, I was the child always helping mama cause I was the one she could always count on then as years stretched on you use to be able to find the frozen ones cause that's what she went to but you can not even find them! I made them last year and my daughter said how did you know how to make these cause she loved her grandma's cooking, never said anything but told her your grandma came from heaven and taught me, so ty again cause grandma or my ma just sent you to me so yes heaven opened its doors so you could show me the homemade way to make them and bless my family once again !😃💖💜

@@CookinWTaShondaRenae I prepared these for dinner last even. Husband is still no fan of peas, but he did try them and said they were the best he’s ever eaten. Personally, I loved them! This recipe elevates plain old ordinary frozen peas to something special.
