I tested the MACD for the month of nov 2020 on the 28 mayor pairs. I found 113 trades in the month with a winrate of 62% 1.5:1 rr. This indicator is a winner.

I like this channel but he never takes fees into account. A 55% win rate, if you have too many trades, can be killed by fees entirely.

idk if ill answer my own question. But can you point out the stronger zones by going into a longer time frame? so if my entry is gonna be in a 5 minute chart can i spot the strong S+R zones in a 1 hr time frame or bigger?

Try using the 9 Ema and when it gets broken, get out of the trade. Otherwise trail it

It would be neat if you tested a forex sentiment indicator to see if Forex moves opposite of sentiment, I can even give you an indicator to try
One tip to increase winrate - use pending order: when got MACD signal, set buy/sell stop 0.5-1 ATR above/below entry candle. This way you filter some entries what go in the opposite direction as soon as signal is triggered and get 2-3 more % winrate
When a candle gives an entry signal, you set a order 0.5-1x ATR away or do you open a trade and set SL 0.5-1x ATR away from last (the entry) candle?

@@Tepalus You set pending order 0.5-1 ATR, or 1-2 pip away from the signal candle. The point is to prevent bad trades where an impulse triggers MACD shift and then price returns back.
SL is on the last pullback as described in the video, but it might be helpful to use Donchian channel to set SL

Interesting video but the structure analysis input was never mentioned, nor included, during the backtest video. I like that you say that we should avoid range markets by not trading when the ema is flat but i dont want my trades to be subjective , i wanna have rules and when they are met i enter. do you know and indicator to help us avoid consolidations?
I have talked about the alligator indicator on this channel. That video should be useful. Alligator + 200 EMA. Or maybe you can just check the angle of the 200 EMA. Like it should be above a certain degree.

the Fractal is not known/drawn until 2 bars after where it is marked (Middle of 5 successive bars) , it tests great with backtesting since the future looking fractal is already drawn, but can you show us a live example?

Hello everyone, what is your result in the live market with the macd strategy and what timeframe do you use?
I haven't calculated my current MACD(only) win rate because I also use VWAP(stocks) and other stuff...but total win rate averages around 65 to 70% (with ~1.5/1 reward risk). 70 and higher when market structure, trend, modifying reward risk ratio according to market structure, etc are good. Around 60 percent when trying to hit a home run with bigger reward to risk ratio.

Yes in his very first video he says this works with pretty much any timeframe but especially the higher ones.

And no, it's not the spread. It always moves big against my position. And no, i don't see the full chart while backtesting on hist. data (i just take trades on candles i see at right most part of the screen, so no bias)
Also, is MACD also good for daily frame (to trade just at the evenings)?
It depends. When you say a big move against your position, do you mean a quick, large move and then it goes where the MACS predicts or the whole market moves against you for long periods of time? If the first one, you want to use ATR or market structure for your stop loss. Just because of timing, you can get "whipsawed" to your stoploss if you are entering a buy trade on the close of a candle and then on the next candle massive sell orders get processed before the buyers come in. That can kick out your stop even though when the buyers come in the market will move the way your trade predicted a few minutes later.
@@froznen it's most often a quick sharp fall (or rise while selling) but i think i have to work out the right entry signal and SL with ATR. I always analyze my closed trades and it moves 60-65% in my direcction. So SL really is the problem...

How are you doing now? I think SL is the problem for sure but also should keep in mind that entries shouldnt be straight up on the crosses but also waiting for some volume and confirmation that it's going in your direction, otherwise you just get shaken out or worse
@@Jimmy-sj8pi Yeah every evening i check for entry signals (because i just can trade on the daily timeframe and not throughout the day) and when an entry signal occurs, i set a pending order 1x ATR away from the close of the candle in the direction i want to trade. This way it will execute when volume comes in but i miss out on big loses.
Since this post (3 weeks ago) i improved my winrate to about 45-50% (if i just count the last few trades, i'm on 80% but that is highly unrepresentable)
My SL is currently at 1.5x ATR and my TP is at 1.5x SL but i have to tweak it.
I want a strat that works overall in the stock market.
Currently i'm working on a MACD Strat for every crossover (lower TP against market, smaller SL etc.)
How does it work for you?

I tested the Macd 100 times on EURCAD and got a 51% win rate.
The strategy went up 1400 pips bot crashed down to 700 pips before ending on 1000 pips in 8 months time
What is your reward risk ratio?
EURGBP and GBPEUR has good winrate with this strategy and my favorite pairs to trade

@@GT-kt6tz hi.. I used the swing high and low as the stop loss and had a 1:1 risk reward.. after hitting my TP1 I set my SL at breakeven and set my TP2 at 1:2 risl reward
