The most impactful thing from this for someone who also eats their feelings is that you don’t need to eat when you’re sad but that you also don’t need to eat when you’re happy or to celebrate.

So fortunate to have a husband who loves you enough to stay with you during weight fluctuations, depression, anxiety, etc. So happy for you!
My husband's weight would change, but that was evidently okay. It was just MY weight that seemed to matter. He had absolutely no interest in me anyway.
Of course, he turned out to be gay, so that explained a lot.

I need to lose about 75 lbs to reach a healthy weight but I’ve decided to focus on the first 25 for now. Thanks for sharing your story and being an encouragement. I will be following your journey and cheering for you as well!

I love that you said it's a lifestyle change, not a diet. I really think that is and will continue to be a huge part of what makes you successful. I saw a quote recently that said, "Exercise because you love your body, not because you hate it." That has really changed my outlook on working out. I've always done it for other reasons that involve other people and what they think of me. Then when I have enough self-love I stop. Having a reason for yourself to do what you're doing will motivate you in all seasons of your life. Keep working toward your goal! Thank you for sharing a glimpse into your personal life. It can't be easy to open up like this, but I hope you know you are helping people every time you post a video. Be well!

Thank you, Audrey for being so transparent about your journey. I like your attitude about food. I think we can get so focused on the weight loss that we throw out EVERYTHING that we deem unhealthy. I follow another woman on Facebook who was almost 500 pounds and is losing weight slowly adding exercise to the mix too. She says she eats 80% healthy and 20% junk-the results have been amazing and she is doing this slowly over time incorporating these new healthy life style changes to help her. I was always thin until my 60s-now in my 70s, the weight has piled on and I am trying really hard to move more as my diet is basically pretty healthy as a vegetarian. You are an inspiration to many in taking charge of your health and moving forward in a positive manner after your house fire. Know that there are many pulling for you in all areas!!! God bless!

I think I agree with everything you said, the most important being if it's not sustainable, it won't work. I'm on the same weight loss journey as you and I'm sure I could lose it faster but it will just come back. I finally figured out that I would much rather have my journey take a lifetime so it lasts a lifetime. We have to support each other but also hold each other accountable if possible.

I am noticing that it is HARD for me to clean and organize because of how much weight I am carrying (my feet and joints hurt!). Maybe you can chime in on that concept as well? Your reel on little wins has really helped! But still, it's hard for me to get done the amount that I used to because of how this extra weight is impacting me-and it's hard for me to lose weight because of how out of order my home is🤣 terrible cycle🤣

I've been doing Nutrisystem but on days where I do my own meals I definitely struggle. I just hate cooking! More the mess created by cooking, than the cooking itself. I definitely want to be able to do better on my own so any helpful tips/one pot meals you have to offer would be awesome. I'd love an accountability partner myaelf. I am definitely ready to try and get healthier and establish a sensible way of doing that so like you were saying-a reasonable lifestyle change that you can maintain is a lot easier than an unrealistic diet change..etc.
So far I’m at one day a week doing a 20 minute workout and soon I will be able to incorporate a stationary bike and up my workout to 30 minutes. Not sure when I will get to more than one day a week. Working out is just not something I want to do but it’s needed for overall health.

Thank you so much for the honesty. I need this. Someone along the same ride without judgment.
According to my scale and smart watch, my metabolism is very high. If that's the case, I shudder to think where I would be otherwise! 😂
Although I'm approaching 60 (yikes! Last I checked, I was in my 30's!), my body still responds well to weights. Maybe because I lifted weights for so many years and started so young (always played multiple sports). But I'm just lacking any drive or motivation at the moment.
I'm hoping your honesty with this helps me get motivated. I haven't been out of bed for a week, I've been so depressed (a lot of things happening right now, and it's all piled up. I've never really suffered with depression, except after a death of a loved one. Situational depression.). I've overcome so much in the past 15 years that I find it hard to believe things are now doing this to me. I've come to the realization that I'm grieving for the loss of my family - when my mother passes, I'll likely never have anything to do with any of them again.
My depression isn't hurting them; it's hurting me. Obviously, the self love you mentioned is a struggle for me, right now. I know all the right things; how to eat and exercise properly, about mental wellness, practicing gratitude. Yet, sit here, so much to do, and do nothing but catch up on streaming. I used to work 16 to 18 hours a day, little sleep, and it almost killed me. But somehow, having life saving surgery seems to have taken away my drive.
And I'm so sorry about your home and your fur babies. I lost most of mine in a tropical storm years ago along with all my possessions, and I get the crying. Not only for your for babies, but the memories and keepsakes lost. Photos that can never be replaced. And losing a fur baby, that's like losing a family member. Big hugs to you - I know this a while after your loss, but it I know you're still feeling it.
Thanks again for the honesty and Mindful tips.
P.S. sorry for the long comment. I think you help people more than you realize.

1- I am so incredibly sorry about your precious fur babies…prayers for you and your family
2- your BMR is the amount of calories you would need to survive in a coma so you should never be taking a deficit form your BMR. You need to adjust for activity, even just being sedentary would be higher calories than your bmr. 1200 calories or lower is way too low.

I can totally relate to your food issues and the four letter word "diet" I never wanted my picture taken, and if I was forced into it I always tried to stand behind people. I have never had to have a reason to eat. If my eyes were open that was enough reason for me. My aha moment was a picture I actually wanted. We were in Green Bay WI, at a small zoo. My bf and I sat on a bench and my son took our picture. When I saw that picture and saw that I looked twice the size of my bf, I wanted to die. I wanted the earth beneath me to open and swallow me and the ground close up behind me. I started to think about Gastric Bypass surgery. I went to my doctor and I got the referral. I met with the Dr and he told me I had to loose 50 pounds before he would do surgery. Now if I could loose 50 pounds, why would I need surgery. I spent about 6 months with educated nurses who was trained in weight loss. Well, it was Christmas and I had an appointment after the new year. I was devastated. I thought I had been pretty good at not eating too much of the bad stuff, but I had gained 5 pounds. Even more devastated and depressed, I was told I was kicked out of the weight loss program. I went home and ate. I had worked so hard and then to be told that there would be no help. I tried to appeal the Dr's decision, to no avail. I was also told once kicked out you could not go back. I talked to a couple of friends and one friend told me about a different Dr. I went and provided all medical records, insurance and etc. I was approved, but then COVID hit, and no elective surgery. I waited 4 months. I was so excited to have a date and time. Well, I had my surgery on September 2nd 2020. My mom who lived with me passed October 2nd, 2020. It was unexpected. I spent the next year in a fog. I lost weight, but not because I tried. I got a food counselor who helped me with the reasons I ate.
I have been rambling as well. Maybe I can tell you the rest at a later time. I just want you to know, that I am very sorry about the fire and your losses. I am also so glad that I found you when I did. I believe that everything happens for a reason!! I needed you in my life right now for so many reasons. I can't wait for the next chat!! 😊
