I JUST WANT TO DATE HIM
"You can fix me" type characters always go so hard, devotion to their partner in ways that border on dangerous just hit right every time, especially when it comes with the angst of one believing they don't deserve the other without giving themselves completely to their partner.
*Chefs kiss*
A friend and I did the "fix a character by breaking him so badly he develops a conscience" to a villain in our current favorite show via an RP, and then I inadvertently developed a crush on said villain in the process. Now I have to explain to people why my favorite character is the freaking psychopathic mob boss with the split personality... whoops.
Diavolo?
Yup
Funniest "I can fix him" post I found on Tumblr is one with an attatched picture of Winry Rockbell. She really can... and she did.
"I can fix him" I prefer "I can bring him to change himself, at first for me but then for the sake of him starting to feel really shitty about it"
I can fix a 10’000 year old vampire super soldier with hyper depression and severe daddy issues, I’m 100% sure
Which one? 😂
The best part I can’t even tell which one you’re talking about
"I can fix him" but what if I don't want to,what if I don't want him better or worse, just him.🙂↔️
I could totally fix someone who somehow thinks Lugia makes sense as a psychic type.
The creators tried to explain it, but the explanation itself is so dumb that i just don't get it. They say it's to "make it look more powerful" as if it doesn't seems already
But correct me if i'm wrong
@@sandy_nes31 It wasn't the creator, but a programmer and designer for Gen 2. There is a difference in knowing Lugia is a psychic type(us), and those who somehow believe Lugia makes sense as a psychic type.
Should’ve been Water/Dragon
They needed a reason for it to know telepathy so it could talk to Ash in the movie.
That aside, I suppose it is for lore reasons, it's easier to reason that a super powerful psychic has some power leakage. If you read its pokedex entries, you can tell Darkrai's lore took cues from Lugia's.
Incredibly powerful to the point that it just being around wrecks stuff. Lugia's powers cause whirlpools and other damaging storms without it meaning to, so it lives at the bottom of the ocean to minimize the reach and damage its powers can do.
A lot of the psychic trainers in the games, even gym leaders and elite four members like Sabrina and Caitlin, especially Caitlin, have reached a critical mass with their powers where it manifests a passive aura around them that affects stuff. Caitlin is so powerful that her powers even float stuff around when she's asleep.
So does it make sense from a design and role perspective? No. Not at all. Lugia is to Ho-oh what Sussano'o is to Amaterasu. A storm god. It should be at the very least, Flying/Water. It's a leviathan, a sea monster, so it should be Dragon/Water.
But given the emphasis they've put on psychic abilities being so powerful that the user doesn't have full control over them in the wider lore... you can see the strange logic behind it.
@@FizzieWebb Before I start, I mean no hate. I'm commenting because:
1. I have counter points to them
2. There are 2 other types that makes more sense than psychic, and it's funny to explain the reasoning for 1 of them.
Lugia is a god. No one would question how it can talk with people. Also Lugia's dex entries ONLY say it's powerful. There is nothing that says it's psychic type. And these people aren't mentoring the 40-day storms it creates by flying, because that's why it's powerful. Yes Darkrai has lore similarities with Lugia, but that has nothing to do with Lugia's psychic type. Also having psychic people to say Lugia makes sense as a psychic type has no correlation. That's like saying Batman keeping his identity secret is the same thing as Midoriya keeping his orgins of his powers a secret. What I mean is that there are similarities, but they are 2 different things.
As for the 2 types that makes more sense than psychic, one of them is the electric type. It's a storm god, storms have lighting. The other type is ground. Takeshi Shudo, creator of Lugia, said he created her as a maternal figure since the sea is the origin of life. Yes he also created her with ocean symbology in mind, making the psychic type even more BS. And Gaia from Greek Mythology is seen as the origin of life on earth. I only made this connection when someone said Lugia's creation reminded them of Gaia. So if anyone ask why pokemon types makes sense for Lugia, they are: Water, Flying, Dragon, Electric, and Ground. The ground argument is really weird, but makes more sense than psychic.
I don't need to fix him, maybe I can love him how he is
I saw one that was something about "I can fix him, as in I can make the writing better"
“I can fix her” “I can make her worse” I can make her develop morals and fully understand all the suffering she’s caused
this reminds me of that one plot point in ace attorney where phoenix admits to going to law school on the notion of "I can fix him"
"I can fix him." Girl, no you can't. The people both of you were before you crossed paths are dead. What's left of him is a broken husk of never-ending pain; what's left of you are fading echoes of lost opportunities. You can't bring back who he used to be, who you could have been, make each other whole again, but that won't stop me from making you try.
"I can fix them"
Uh, no I can't. They can make me worse by destroying my already fragile self-esteem though
I can't fix him, but I can salvage them and turn her into something entirely different.
No, I can't fix him. He's already perfect... despite being the microscopic equivalent to a world destroyer. BUT STILL!
the fact that your pfp is black pearl cookie just makes this funnier
How I feel about Bill Cipher tbh
"I can fix her."
No, bestie, you can't and you shouldn't want to. She really doesn't want to be here and hates your guts, plus, you're both already dead so it's a little late.
(The "she" in question is Marilyn Greensburg, a ghost from the 1930s who absolutely LOATHES the pestering of other spirits and finds it entertaining to hone what fighting abilities nature gave her when it made her a poltergeist. She's the self-appointed patron/guardian spirit of a mariner family with a modest but generations old fishing business, and god help you if you've ever done anything to threaten "her family.")
My personal fav is the one that’s like ““I can fix him” “I can make him worse” well I can hold him like this *picture of a hamster in someone’s hand*”
i love making characters worse. its so fun
“I can fix them” “I can make them worse” Yeah well I can accept them as they are.
Is there a such thing as platonic "I can fix him"? Because the amount of times I've felt that is honestly concerning.
I think there can definitely be platonic "I can fix him!" :)
Grandmaster choosing the person they caught trying to rob them as a student
Literally just Undertale True Pacifist
Kind of what happened in Shrek (Fiona may have "finished" it, but Donkey started) or Lilo&Stitch. I think there are lots of examples in fiction if you think into it. Not sure how common it is in fanfiction
Not only can I fix him, but I intend on getting payed to do so.

He is a cat on the cusp of puberty.
You can take this as a metaphor if you like.
Sometimes you cannot fix what is already broken.
There was this game i played as a kid with this one evil but kinda sympathetic guy who had a crush on the Mc of the game that i had massive crush on, i was definitely on the i could fix him train at like 10, luckily i have grown from this and now realise i could fix him ideology isn't the most amazing
Looking back on childhood crushes like that is definitely interesting! :)
The first one being Silco came for my THROAT 🤣
For the record, I’d NEVER try to fix that man; there’s waaaay too much damage to be undone for even Handy Manny to tackle. But I’ll be damned if I don’t find his character endearing as hell
"I can fix him!" "I can make him worse" WELL IIIII'MMM A SECRET THIRD THING!! I desperately want to fix him, I want to meet his younger self, give him a hug, and tell him it'll work out, I want to tell his younger self that everything is going to be okay, but I can't. I can't tell him it'll be okay, I can't tell him it'll work out, because then he'll loose what made him who he is. If I tell him everything is going to be okay, practically half of his story will never happen.
Yes this is about Stanley Pines shhhhh-
I read Stanley and thought of Stanley Parable
"I can fix him" "I can make him worse" I can feel my heart breaking, mistakes I've been making

Sometimes i be thinking that i could fix my comfort character but then i take a look at his biography and....if i ever tried to fix him, mf would make ME worse by bringing me down
He would absolutely break the shit out of me 😭
I think that often applies to real life as well. Dont try to fix someone (at least not an adult and unless you are professional) because they may just bring you down with them, and not even get significantly better themself.

I cannot fix Medic TF2 but I am willing to become worse for him.
What could you even fix about him?
I can’t fix him, but DAMN he is hot!
"I could fix him"
No. He is beyond redemption. His mind is warped by such a vile ideology and his actions are so cruel that only God could possibly forgive him.
I can fix him... By making him confront his trauma, face his emotions, and go to therapy. (By putting him in worse situations >:3)
I'm an angst writer, they're going to have to deal with the horrors, but after the horrors... They'll find that someone nearby is still a safe space, despite their fears, despite their cold shell, despite everything. And they'll cry and they'll mourn and they'll finally understand.
And genuinely, that's what I want to do. Force them to confront everything and then put them back in the narrative, letting them struggle against the canon future in ways that could never change the outcome.
i *could* fix him. i’m just not going to 😊
You dont understand, like, I truly, REALISTICALLY, can fix Glados from portal 2

I could fix Airacnid from transformers prime (I can’t actually but almost everyone else has given up on her so I’m gonna try my best and if I get corrupted in the process oh well)
