Can you make a 3d cube where the sides is a picture with the background masked out so you can see through the space and into the cube? So if there were words inside the cube you can see them without the sides being disconnected from each other?

i don’t understand what i made wrong but when i want to rotate it doesn’t rotate from the center of the 3d shape only from the first pic
so i guess 3d isnt meant for me because everytime i switch back to the active camera it focuses on the clip in the back of the rectangle that's upside down and all zoomed in :( i followed all the right steps and did it several times but it keeps doing that and idk how to fix it.
edit: nevermind, i fixed it, but now when i go to make the square sides i double click on the other layer to go into a new comp. i change the comp side but then when i go back it turns my rectangle into a cube. yeah, 3d just doesnt seem to be for me ahah

mine is off-center? if that makes sense, the rectangle isn't spinning like urs
did you find a way to fix this i'm having the same problem rn and for some reason it spins off center when i do the transition :(

Its just a solid you crop/mask and to the size you want it and then keyframe it like a slide

after setting x rotation angle , when i drag the frame to form them in rectangle shape its not happening like your ,like you just dragged it and it placed itself in rectangle shape, please help stuck in these i am editing a big project .

Trust me you better make your onw 3d shapes. Presets wont get you anywhere
Try searching "how to make 3d shapes in ae" then move them around just like you move a 2d clip..
