Wow such an eye opener - and great explanation - from my understanding a diagnosis of cirrhosis isn't always associated with alcohol abuse - starts with fatty liver?
I'm suffering from esophageal varices right now. I'm scheduled for varices ligation in 2 weeks. But I'm confused as far as the cause ? My doctor's office called yesterday and informed me that they're not officially diagnosing me with cirrhosis but they're going to start treating me for cirrhosis ? I do not drink alcohol. How did I get cirrhosis ? I have zero symptoms of liver disease.
Well done, very helpful. May I suggest you phrase it as “the patient will …” instead of “you will …” this will sound more like you are speaking to a nursing student, and not a patient . 😎
