One of the weird things about this channel is how you'll take something like Drill; ignore all of the originators of the sound, even the people who made it popular, hit songs etc.
And wash away their history and give the credit for it's success to the first mainstream popular woman to do it.
I don't think any other video about drill would say it started taking off with Ice Spice.

@@trinketmage8145 I think a lot of the time their heart is in the right place, they want to showcase different things that they only have cursory knowledge of. I've learned a lot from commentators that know more about the topics, so it gets the conversation going ☺️

@@ennuiblue4295 Oh I'm sure, absolutely. My point wasn't that they're reliable allies or a solid force for good in the world. It's just the nature of their work occasionally necessitates exploring topics that they're less than experts in. It's completely unrealistic to expect anyone to be on top of every trend. Besides, however little they know about any subject there's many in their audience that know a lot less.

From what I remember about Drill during the controversy was that apparently it made kids violent - they acted in gangs and hurt people.
To be honest, I don't know if that's true or if it's just the scapegoat for the UK's bad and corrupt policing

    • @jordanloux3883
