Did you know that you can take those aluminum stays and bend them to fit your back making them even more custom to you. You will need someone to help you fit those to the shape of your back and do the bending for you.

It seems like a Lycra bottom would get really picked when setting it down on rocks, etc... and would easily develop holes. Have you experienced this?

Now they need to make Ultra Hammock tarps since they never did a second run of the DCF version!

Ultra weighs about the same as DCF. A new Curve40-Ultra still comes in at 17oz, where the original Curve40-DCF was 16oz. Additional weight is mostly due to those aluminum-stays and padding-pockets that hold them, along with all the other bells-and-whistles/extra pack-volume. Item-2: Slide that chainsaw closer to the body for an easier carry? Finally, bushcrafting everyone can enjoy? Item-3: LiteAF makes the toughest, most-comfortable ultralight-packs on the market.

I can wait until Ziplock brand releases their UL pack. I hear they have a special pocket in the front to be able to cook you meals while you’re hiking.

Chris does nice work. I really like my Curve 46 in DCF. It easily carried 38 pounds our Philmont trip.

Zpacks has a new Arc Haul Ultra 60 -- using the ultra 200 material. Bare bones, it weighs 20.5 ounces (give or take half an ounce based on sizes). Maybe one of these days somebody will make a review comparing these two! Seems like they will go head to head for the times coming

To the Schill Brothers: Which ultralight pack out there has the best back ventilation? My back needs as much ventilation as possible when I hike.

Took an AF Curve 40 top down the Narrows in Zion. When it got deep the pack starting floating me it was so air tight, had to unbuckle to stay on solid river bottom. The belt pockets seeped a little but the main pack had zero water leaks after about an hour in the river. Most likely Chris hasn’t changed his quality so I’d bet those new packs are hiiiighly water resistant. Have fun.

Ok y’all, now that you have had them for a while what do you think of the new packs? I have an DCF Lite AF pack and would like your thoughts on the new pack vs the old pack.

I have the same pack in DCF and love it. You guys are in for a treat. It Carrie’s like a dream. You hardly notice the weight on your back! Have fun!

Seems like the industry is beginning to do the inevitable - backing off the ultralight trend that was becoming dogmatic, and designing more light packs in the 2-2.5 pound range that are more functional than super ultralight frameless packs. The Exos 58 is still the best pack I’ve used - 2.3 pounds. LiteAF looks like they make some nice packs, though. I have one of their fanny packs - very well made.

Because the difference between a 10 and 15 pound base weight let’s you have a non DCF tent, comfy sleeping pad, a chair and clean(ish) clothes to sleep in.

I'm still not really interested in a more rugged pack when I've never worn a hole in a pack. I am curious if we'll see this fabric turn up on really big packs from say, Kuiu or Mystery Ranch where you might be able to shave some weight while still handling huge loads.

Hey guys here's a question: do you guys have to wait over three months for your packs like everyone else, or do you get preferential treatment? I would never in good conscious recommend a pack to anyone that had to wait more than 2 week, especially when there's other good packs available you can walk into a store and buy.
