Aenarion the Defender He already was a good king. He set up the colonies and was going to give up his want for the Phoenix throne but then his mother showed up and took him to the chaos wastes and well we all know how that story went from there.
The elves in the skimpy clothing are often hopped up on drugs or are in a murder-frenzy, so they don't really care. Others are magicians, so they can manipulate their temperature-tolerance. And then lastly, they're elves, so they're all pretty good at dealing with extreme conditions.
Indeed. I never went that route, but this was due to a lack of DLC rather than attachment to the older faiths. Still managed to turn every new reign into a series of assassinations and plots as jealous family tried to take my throne.
I always wondered how the hell do the Dark Elves sustain their population. You have tons of small skirmishes that certainly cost at least some lives, you have huge wars against Chaos hordes from the north and against the High Elves, then you have all the interior assassinations and squabbles, and lastly you have the Death Night.
Not possible in Warhammer. There as never been one Half-elf. Not even one passing mention in all of the lore of a Half-elf or some weird birth between elf and human. Most likely because in Warhammer elves an humans look the same but that's about it. They are completely different in every other way.
Honestly, I cant. The Malus Darkblade novels take place in Naggaroth, and the lovely Dark Elf sociopath protagonist spends a lot of time either half-drunk to cope with all the bullshit or incredibly sleep deprived in order to stay alive.
I remember when we played head to head with friend, i went full slaver mode with Dark elves. Eventually, Naggaroth was filled with slaves so much, that the whole region made 20 000 money, 10 000 from city itself. Still have the screenshot. Slavery may be bad, but damn, its makes a good money!
Remind me, Gorvar... how are the Dawi doing with the whole 'navy' thing again? 'Cos I kind of get the feeling you're going to need more than a couple dozen steamships from Barak-Varr for that.
When the End Times happened and the world ended it turned out that Malaketh was right all along and was the true and rightful Phoenix King the entire time. He also became a god in Sigmar's new pantheon of Order. Suck it dwarf!
Malekith honestly deserved the phoenix throne back when he was a good guy. He established good relationships with the dwarves. He was also a great warrior, sorcerer, and politician. Not only that, but he genuinely cared about living up to his father's name and protecting the elves. He would have made a great phoenix king if those pompous Asur princes would have chosen him over that weak phony, Bel'shanaar. I think he would have turned against Morathi way sooner and stayed "good" had the Asur shown him proper loyalty.
Sounds like we've found our Dark Elf player! But no, in the first place Aenarion's curse would've gotten him eventually, also given his arrogance and ego it's inevitable that Slaanesh would've had his hands on him sooner or later (especially with his mother whispering in his ear). Also please, almost no boy turns against his mother, if Aenarion the Defender couldn't resist her influence neither would Malekith. The very fact that you mention 'proper loyalty' shows that you don't know that true loyalty is earned, not owed, typical Druchii arrogance. Furthermore, the monster he became hardly supports the idea that he could ever have been a 'good' ruler. Over the long term it's pretty inevitable that he'd have been a psycho either way
Don't forget, he was turned away because he would've ended up marrying his half-sister. And you know what happens when it comes to royal inbreeding. About everyone in the family is gonna end up looking like the Habsburgs.

Malekith´s showed in his pride, a trait that Morathi manipulated, in Teclis his frailty of body but innate arcane mastery, in tyrion Aenerion´s prowess with the blade (or Khaine´s murderous prowess), in their father (tyrion and teclis) probably his mastery of artifice, as he was hte one who restored the dragon armour of aenerion and was a master artificer. In some small way Allariel´s tendency to lead armies and fight in battle could be atributed to the blood of Aenerion in her blood. As all everqueens descend from Aenerion. Still this curse in elven in nature, Malekith wouldnt have falled to Slaanesh or chaos either way, a unwilling pawn perhaps but he would never fall. Malekith hates chaos with his every fiber. It was chaos who killed his father, chaos who threatens the world. He uses them only until he doesnt need them anymore, then he smashes them. Also good ruler is arguable. Aenerion was a brutal ruler as Phoenix King, during his life not all liked him, but all respected him. However in the future the Asur hail him as their greatest king. Malekith would probably not be liked or have mixed reviews (if he handt revolted not going to talk about end times here) but would probably leave a legacy of strengh and stability, something that would be hailed like his father in the future. Because he indeed knowns how to rule and knows what needs to be done, if his head is clear and without the burning desire for vengeance his pride often filled him with. (no thanks to Morathi either btw.)

It should be noted that the Druchii fight against chaos, trying to keep the northmen out. However, during the end times Morathi let them in, which forced the Druchii to flee Naggaroth and head to Ulthuan, where Malekith was named Pheonix King
Turns out the Gods were just having a giggle when they burned Malekith so he actually WAS the Pheonix King all along. Some other shit happened, but who even cares at that point?
Basically some people at GW got drunk and wrote the End Times books with the aim of rebooting the WH universe. By the time they finished the first one some of them were still conscious, as a result that one is almost passable, while the following 4 are such utter garbage that there were many instances of literary critics and lore masters gouging their eyes out after reading those.
While I do agree with Malekith and that it was he and not Bel-Shanaar who was the rightful heir, I don't agree with anything he has done since. Instead of proving that you are a true leader and heir of Aenarion, what does he do? He goes in a full emo rage and goes to torture innocents. /facepalm (a rather tragic character though - I enjoyed "Malekith" novel very much even if I do find Caledor much better and much more relatable) I'll also agree with Lilin that it was just a quick sucker punch against the established lore.
