You guys are forgetting 1 more lol. Michael Jackson did one of his own back in 2003. It was a charity song he wrote for the victims of 9/11. Is called "What More Can I Give". You should watch that one next!
Sorry, Summer, but I'm gonna have to go with Corey's take on this version. It is good,yes... but there's just something about it that still makes me think the original USA for Africa is better. Anyway, enjoyed your reactions to it (I hadn't seen it before either). Thanks for sharing 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Edited to add: Oops, forgot to wish you both a very merry Christmas 🎄 🎊 🎁 Looking forward to your next reaction video 👋
I have never heard this version until I watched your reaction. I was a teenager when the original, USA for Africa came out and is what I remember very fondly.
You guys should react to Michael Jackson this is it all of rehearsals of the film they did in 2009 after his death you will see mj at 50 and you will be shocked how he did and performed! Please!!!!!
The people in the chorus that didn't have solos: Waylon Jennings, The Judds, Heart, Katharine McPhee, Julianne Hough, Zac Brown, Chris Brown, Gladys Knight, Robin Thicke, Jason Mraz, Orianthi (she's playing guitar), Carlos Santana (he's playing guitar).
Please React to Michael Jackson’s What More Can I Give it was for 9/11 the true sequel to We Are The World🥹🙌🏽👑💝💝💝(Btw the original We Are The World USA For Africa is much better and cause of the instrumentation soul & passion in which they all sung in harmony and unity also there was No Autotune or Rapping which felt out of place)
Both versions are beautiful but I’ve got to give it to the OG Africa one. This one had way too much auto tune, just a personal taste thing for me. I’m old school.
I have never heard this one and I probably won't ever hear it honestly as I don't care about anyone singing in this video and I already know the original is superior just by looking at the list of "stars" in this one, and even if I liked the "stars" in this one it would still be inferior to the original, I am glad you liked it tho.
Here is the difference we are the world You have all the best Atrist in one room The song for Haiti You have a bunch of people who have Some talent but none of them are The best version of what they are doing
Ah no no what is this version? There are so many talents involved in this song and yet it sounds like karaoke. And around 7 minutes from the autotune?! Well, not for a song like this. There are plenty of artists that I like and yet it gives the impression that it's not worked enough I feel no emotion unlike USA for Africa. It's not comparable at all.At least in usa for africa even if a lot of singer who was not part of my musical register I liked them all while there... In short, next
So the original group, who was still alive, are the ones who came together for this new edition. Haiti needed funding at the time, and this was released during a telethon that was on ALL major networks at the time. SO- It isn’t about which edition is better. It is about the fact that artists TODAY can still rise together and realize that at times- the world needs help. In this situation you are BOTH wrong.
I do like this one. I can say with confidence I think the overall direction of the video was better by actually showing footage of Hati and what they were fighting for vs the original just beings the stars. But I do agree that there was something missing that didn't make me cry in this version. Still good, and people like Justin Beiber, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Hudson, Celine Dion, Josh Gorban, and Jennifer Nettles lived up to the original vocals.
No...thats not Jordan Sparks...thats Jennifer Hudson. This version is outstanding because you get REAL singing unlike the trash going on during this very era where majority of "singers" actually cant sing for ish...they use autotune. I dont prefer either version as they both are great for the time released. You didnt recognize Kanye? lol...oof
At the end of the day whether or not I like which version, for me it helped raise money for people in need. That's what matters most to me, and the coming together of the human race.
I Remember when I heard this in 2010 I thought it was terrible, now listening to it it’s not as bad as I remember. I guess popular music has declined in quality so much more even since this was made that this does not look as bad by comparison.
Or… this isn’t bad, never was bad and you’ve just gotten a different view now. It has nothing to do with you coming down from great musical heights to now not minding this
Its amazing how the same song with the same arrangement can have such a big impact and sound so good, then 25 years later sound like garbage all because of the artists.
@johnlynem I don't think the first one is good, and I love the second one, but I was a kid when the second came out, wich means that I wasn't even born when the first one came out, a lot of people of my age think like me, and a lot of people that listened to the original first thinks like you, sometimes it's a thing of generation, or sometimes it's just your own music preference/music taste, I don't think that the original is good at all, but I won't say that it's garbage because I know that most people don't agree with me
@@montse93 each to their own. The problem with the second is that they couldn't even come up with their own song. Which is the problem with todays artists and music, no original ideas. Then they can't even take the time to put any effort into it, they basically phone in their part. Thats what made the original so great. It was the first of its kind and having all that talent in one room coming together to make a difference must have been an amazing experience. The second, like the artist in it are for the most part, forgettable and uninspiring.
🤮 "Self-Indulgent"... as Simon would say on American Idol. The original Africa version had a bunch of legends check their egos at the door and tried to make a great song TOGETHER with the focus on Africa. The Haiti version has a bunch of lesser quality "legends," whose egos are front & center doing their best to stand out individually to be the center of attention. Listen to the vocals individually from both. The QUALITY is night and day between the true vocal legends vs the predominately autotune Haiti club. The chorus alone in each is night and day. One sounds like a beautiful professional choir and the other sounds like drunken sing-a-long at Oktoberfest. Honestly, the second song is painful to even listen to. Original = A+. Haiti Version = D. Great job on your channel! Keep it up! :)
@@havok6280 - LOL... Janet isn't even close to being the best artist in her own family. Celine is the only one of those people mentioned who actually sounded good on that version. In fact, Michael Jackson has the same number of #1 hits as Celine, Barbra and Tony combined.
WOW..Such a difference in the artist from 1985 to now..I didn't get any emotion from this one..But i still cry when i hear the 1985 one ..

USA for Africa, will remain the best because there were super egos in the studio

I love both versions. It wasn't Jordan Sparks, it was Jennifer Hudson. Just out of curiosity, are y'all from North Carolina, and if so where?
